  1. I’m on discovery right now. We are going to icy point from 6 to 6 I believe. I thought we were going to go to Haines since the Haines video on the tv was showing up but they later added the one for icy as well. A lot of people are annoyed. Selfishly I was hoping to go to Haines or icy since I’ve never been.

Im eating dinner right now in the mdr. Had sockeye salmon and vegan meatballs. Everything I’ve had in the mdr has been excellent. The buffet is standard buffet. Revive there for me has been been terrible for when I’ve wanted bottle water or booze. They have taken wayyyyyy too long to bring them or forgot about me.

  2. 2 unrelated questions.

Have any of you done a Princess cruise that lists that you will be in Victoria at 7:00 PM? What time were you actually able to get off the ship? Earlier than expected or later? Are there buses that are in front of the port that can take you to the visitor center?

On Haines, I will look to go there independently and not on a tour. I know to get a ferry ticket (I arrive in skagway) and I want to go to the Eagle Center. Is there anything else walking distance from where the skagway-Haines ferry docks that you would recommend that isn't food or shopping?

Glacier Bay was the full time 6 am - 3 pm. We saw GB in 2005, and the regression of the glaciers in the past 17 years was sad. Margerie glaciers is half what I remember from 2005.

I remember the 2nd time I saw GB was maybe like 3 years after the first time and I noticed the same thing. Looked totally different. I actually thought Hubbard looked better.

$200 obc doesn't seem bad but if you bought already a package, aren't you limited to just overpriced crap in the gift shops, and spa/restaurants that probably now everyone is going to go to and excursions that are either sold out or already booked? They should have made it refundable or just give gift cards imo.

That's smart. The ship has been skipping Icy Strait Point even though it's still listed as a stop on the upcoming cruises.

Was wanting to do the one on 6/25 but I figured that the repairs wouldn't happen in time to go to Icy! The other alternative was going with Carnival since they go to sitka (I've never been there either), but the balconies are extremely expensive as are the few remaining outside cabins. Was offered a really cheap rate to get an inside cabin but honestly, I do need a window. I need natural light even if it's an obstructed view. The deal with Princess was really good considering they had a very low single supplement and I figure I won't see that again when I want it.

@The Collie, hope you are not considering the Crown Princess as there are quite a few  posts regarding her changed/greatly reduced itinerary where you will NOT be getting much Alaska port time.

Initially that's what I was going to do until people on here said to run! I really wanted Icy Point since I've never been there. Been to Ketchikan. Decided to do Discovery even though it does go to Ketchikan.

Call EZAir to see if they can manually book these 2 for you as a roundtrip itinerary. Sometimes they have restrictions on combinability which is why they are not showing as an option as a roundtrip itinerary.

Okay I had a long hold (why I came on here to ask) and the employee said that I can just call and have them book it as 2 different reservations so apparently while people booking may get blocked (I don't know if I will be as my cruise is on hold) if I call per the rep they can just book for me doing the first flight on Alaska and then returning through Southwest.

Southwest does not have ticketing agreements with other carriers.

You could use EZ Air going and just buy your ticket on the return directly with Southwest.

You don’t see them as an option on EZAIR, do you?

southwest is on ez air however it won't allow (from what i can see) for me to go from burbank to seattle on aa, and then return through southwest.

I would go for C238. S306 looks really close to the bandstand, and I have no idea what noise you might hear in it. Plus, if you like looking at otters, they'll just be little specs that high up in the ship unless you have binoculars. You'll probably want binoculars no matter which cabin you choose, since otters are small. But you won't see them every day anyway.

    Good thinking Hag!

Hi @The Collie, I suggest you book the DW, it has the extra sofa so another place to sit and slightly larger. Depending on the itinerary, the forward facing DW’s have great sized balconies, but can be very windy. Being forward, you are also subject to more ‘motion’

It's an Alaskan cruise and says: PART OBSTRUCTED VIEWNON-GLASS BALC RAIL/BALCONY ACCESS WHEN IN PORT ONLY

    s

Does this mean the attendant will lock my balcony door on sea days? Thank you!
