The Versailles Restaurant at 3555 SW 8th St in the Little Havana section of Miami is an institution. It's Cuban food at its finest. Head there directly from the airport because lunch service begins at 11am. Just ask for a table somewhere along a wall so you can keep your luggage nearby. Head to the port afterwards.

A good call.  I second this.

Well, they made us get off the ship this morning. Evidently to continue onto the next leg to Barcelona you actually had to have paid for it. We queued up at 7:05AM and disembarkation started at 7:15AM with performers and speakers exiting first. We stepped off the ship at 7:25AM. Customs took 5 minutes and we were at the airport and through security a few minutes before 8:00AM. So it’s back to reality. As an interim first step we are sipping mimosas in the Club Room at the Fort Lauderdale airport. It seemed an appropriate way to start the transition.

Welcome back to the real world.  Our friends left the ship today as well and are back home.  I can't wait to see them and hear (and see) all the details about the trip!

Me neither, I love to pick at various foods and dishes but I never (very rarely) feel the need to eat too much.   I enjoy what I have but as soon as I feel I have had enough I just stop, there's always going to be lots more to eat later in the day or tomorrow so little and often is my motto.

Reminds me of the wealthy woman walking down the street.  A beggar asks her for money and says "I haven't eaten in three days."  She says "I wish I had your willpower!"

They deliver room service breakfast and dinner, caviar and appetizers, and wine on request, take and return your paid laundry, stock/restock your mini refrig. with your preferences. They can make dinner reservations for you, but we have found it more efficient to ask the restaurant managers directly. They will get you any extras you need for your suite like hangers. They can pack/unpack but we have never asked for that. They like to get your shoes shined. We have to ask them not to do that, as my husband's shoes get ruined if polished.

This pretty much covers the "stock" things that the butler can and should do for you.

The special requests are where the butler can either shine, or fail.  Sometimes you might need something unusual, or different.  Repairing a rip in a jacket, or getting you something special from the kitchen, or whatever.

All those coke products and no coke. Any one like rum and Pepsi?😝

It has never ever occurred to me to order a Pepsi instead of a Coke for things like Rum and Coke or Jack and Coke.

    Never even entered my mind.

  6. I concur that you need to have this addressed prior to going, and you probably need to double-check it to confirm.  You would be going to the bottom of the globe; there's no way to accommodate someone once the ship leaves the mainland (and even then it is difficult).

  7. I concur.

I used to take my kids to Disney World all the time when they were little.  As they became teenagers, they were no longer as interested.  They wanted the Universal roller coasters instead.

I suspect the same would happen with DCL.
