Hi,
Our cruise on the NS leaves on the 26th. We fly on the 25th and no appointments are being scheduled on the 24th at any pharmacy we can find. If we got tested on the 23rd would that be acceptable? We bought the rapid test through the HAL recommended and have that but would like a backup just in case. I don't even know if the online testing company will be testing on the 24th. I have posed that question to the company, so we will see.
All this makes me a little nervous.

So we are sailing on the 26th. HAL has not posted hardly any excursions. Are we allowed to book out own? Was this permitted during this sailing?

They moved UP their time not moved it back?
I meant that it seems later than normal. My boarding doc said we are in group E @ 130 and not to show up any earlier.

One other note for those who are following boarding time changes, for the 12/26 sailing we have been bumped up from 1 to 12 pm.
So is that so they can disinfect the common areas?

The number of passengers for the 12/26 sailing will be 1100.
Wow! It is going to feel like we have the whole ship to ourselves!
~42% capacity, wow, again!

I spoke to Guest Services today and learned that your ship will be the first to visit
Grand Caymon.
Yes, that is why they changed the itinerary. We had to be their first stop if we wanted to go there.

Any word on GC? And how often do you have to take a Covid test?

Can you ask around to see if any of the crew know the new itinerary for the Dec 26th sailing? We are supposed to go to Grand Cayman mid cruise but now GC officials have said we have to be the first stop to let us ashore. Cant seem to find out what the new plan will be.
Thank you!

Its 2 days, so anytime on Friday for a Sunday departure.
I am VERY cautous, so:
1. Test booked at the sole CVS in our city who does the Rapid test (result in an hour or so).
2. Bought the Emed tests through the mail just in case CVS has an issue (be sure to get the right one by the way).
3. Made an appointment with Noami Helath at the FLL airport (Terminal 3) for just after we arrive on Sat. They say 15 minutes for results.
Hopefully will only need 1). But too much money and time at risk to not have a backup plan.
That sounds like a good plan. My wife wants to get one a week prior just to be in the know.
-
So for the vaccinated cruise, what is everyone doing to get their covid tests 24hrs prior to embarkation?
-
My wife and I booked this cruise months and months ago thinking by now we would be out of the woods with Covid. With the way things are we are shocked HAL hasn't canceled this cruise. I don't want to cancel the cruise for fear of loosing my cruise $$$. Any opinions?
I know they have canceled cruise up to December 15th 2020, so we can only guess they would cancel this one too.

I have a dive scheduled on December 21st in Bonaire thru the ship. Does anyone know what dive company HAL uses?
-
Does anyone know if you can use the beverage card to purchase whole bottles at the bar and have them sent to the room for consumption?
I know before when I boarded I could go to a bar and have a whole bottle of Jack sent to the room. I assume the beverage card is like cash?

we are your down the hall neighbors! we are in aft cabin 8164, not a suite, just a verandah room. but we are excited to try an aft balcony! I have heard the aft wrap arounds are the nicest rooms on the ships! what a great upsell!
Molson99, we have this room booked for our December cruise. Did you like the room?

Got it thanks. We sign up for the port and castle tour. With that, we still should have plenty of time to go to Glasgow.
-
Thanks so much for the great info on the ports! Although we've been to most of the cities before, you can always find something else to explore.
We're doing the British Isles cruise in June. Thanks to your review, we've just booked the free tour in Greenock to Gourock (and will of course leave a donation)!
Really grateful for your posting. Thank you.
Happy cruising.
Bear, would you mind sharing the link to the free tour?

Hi Comptech,
I couldn't help but notice that you might be traveling the same dates as us on the British Isles cruise in June. We have a rather large roll call that is taking place under http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2184309 and if that link is a dud try this; June 13, 2016 British Isles. You might be able to join some excursions that are being formed & the meet and greet.. Hope to see you on the roll call... Noreen:D
Noreen,
No sorry we are on the June 1st sailing.. thanks though :)

OK....so why did you ask?
LOL, just making sure I wasn't passing up a deal. And to talk myself out of spending another 400 bucks. :):)
-
for 12 days for a mere $200, I would take it.
Well really 400 bucks for 12 days. an extra 33 bucks a day I would rather spend on booze lol...

Just got an upsell offer from a BF to a mini-suite for the Carribean Princess.
The offer said 50 square feet more for 200pp. Not sure it is worth it to me.
We have a nice balcony now. Any thoughts?
-
So our cruise is 44 days out as of now. Once Princess has paid the airlines, I need to contact the Airlines with our passport information etc?? Or since I have already provided that information to Princess, will they pass that along?
Covid Test on the 23rd for a 26th sailing date.

Yes, and they confirmed 24/7 so I am relieved. Going to book a local appointment if I can find one for the 24th just to have incase.
