Hi, Pistol Pete:  Loved your review, but I have a question about getting a ride to the terminal. Google Maps is confusing. If I am taking an Uber from my hotel in Prospect Park, can the driver drop me off right at the terminal, by pier 12? It looks like a private road, and I have two pieces of roller luggage. Thanks!

Did you have any other questions???  😁

What is the point of those orange grates in front of the windows? Just decorative? I feel like I’m missing something obvious.

Those are Shutters for when the Ship goes through a Hurricane while at Sea... There should be a video of how to shut them... click on the "Videos" button at the bottom of your RCCL App...

  3. I'm sure you will get more great ideas from others but here's an outside-the-box idea you might consider... and we did this for ourselves on Mera back in November...

We did the Sushi and Teppanyaki restaurants for two separate lunches instead of doing it as dinners.  They serve exactly the same menu at the same price for lunch as they would for dinner...  Good thing doing it this way is that we get to skip out on two buffet lunches while never missing out on any of the MDR dinners for the entire cruise...

Look, you've already prepaid for MDR dinners... so why would you skip out on those!!!  Just a thought...🤷‍♂️😉

Passengers were given the option to cancel.  No reason to cancel the cruise for those who wish to stay aboard wherever it goes.

Ohhhh.... I dunno.... I think there might be 12 very good reasons to cancel in all of this... also, knowing that the ship just loaded up 1000 suit cases full of bikinis and sun tan lotions...🤔🤔🤔🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

So.... MSC changed their itinerary due to the storm over Florida and Bahamas...  I don't dispute there was a storm... (actually the same storm blew through here yesterday when Mera was docked here in Boston... 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️)

But ummmmm...... when you look at this map taken just a moment ago... which ship do you think is the only one affected and sailing to nowhere really fast???  Are ALL the other ships that dumb to sail through that same storm???

This is the second instance in about a month time where it seems like the Captain of Mera is chasing after the storm rather than just sailing where everyone else is headed... 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

  6. I'm amazed these guys are still stuck here in Boston...

When we went on Mera back in November... we drove down to NYC from Boston (our home is located within this picture, just 2 miles from the ship)...  And if the ship brought us back here to Boston for 2 days...  not sure what we would have done....I suppose, we would have gone home to drop off some dirty laundry, water the plants, take a hot shower in our roomy bathroom and grab some water bottles before heading back to the ship for dinner and the shows... 🤔

To each his own.  We love the stuff and buy the “Simply Heinz” brand at home.  No high fructose corn syrup in that one. Oh, and I also LOVE pineapple (and ham) on my pizza.  The sweet and salty is divine in my opinion.

    Me Loves Ketchup!!!  👍😁👍

Silly me; I assumed that cruisers are now more aware that MSC is not a clone of royalnorwegiancarnival.  I thought the days of "There was no cheddar on my pizza!" and "They didn't give me butter unless I asked for it!" had been replaced by an appreciation of the differences.  I guess not.

Personally, I like MSC for being able to eat things I don't have every day at home, see a different type of show, music, and passenger mix.  It's a lot easier than flying to Italy.

Being different to be Better is a good thing...  But that's not how we saw MSC...  I thought they were many times different, in bad ways... like running out of things.... not being organized on anything that involves crowds of passengers... not enough varieties...  surcharges on many things... service shortfalls... doing many things in old ways that RCL/NCL/CRNVL used to do 10 years ago...  They are definitely a Med. "Shipping" Company... and not a "People" Company... I think they gotta do some catch-up (not to be confused with Catsup 😂) Those are bad things anyway you look at it.... but the cheap cruise price made up for it...  But.... If it's cheap and good... then that's good...  but if it's cheap and cheap... then it's just cheap...

And I didn't realize MSC was like going to Italy... if so then I would not like to go to Italy anytime soon... 😁

You will not see the pump containers common on  bottom tier lines.

Ummm..... Pumps of condiments and a bowl of catsup/ketchup on MSC Meraviglia... Very inconsistent  in terms of what is available/constantly running out of things when we were on...  It's definitely a cheap cruise...

I meant to provide a lot more photos from the voyage. Between coming home sick, and having to immediately jump back into work and school, I haven’t been able to share much more about what we saw off the ship.

Hopefully this display in the right orientation.

HAHA!!  😄  I live right down the street from that bookstore (Brattle Book Shop) in downtown Boston.  Matter of fact, we just walked past there this evening after our dinner... 😉

Interesting fact... the new movie that is out now "Holdovers" starring Paul Giamatti was filmed there last year...  😉

Am I understanding correctly that the buffet is a LINE for everything?  You can't do hit and runs at various food stations without interrupting the main line and risking dirty looks?

It's not really a ONE single line around the buffet.... but it's more like few different lines that develop spread around the buffet (picture below) focused on some popular food items...  You can't blatantly cut in front of people already in line but if the food item you want (say salad) that never has a line and is located right next to a line for a more popular food item (say burger)... then you can certainly nudge yourself in and get the salad and run away without angering the meat-eaters...

You mentioned that football was shown on the big screen on Sunday.  Did you happen to notice if any of the bars/lounges showed football games anywhere else around the ship?

They showed multiple games at various venues:

       Big Screen by the Pool,

       Brass Anchor Pub,

       Casino Bar and

       TV Studio.

For a game like Monday Night football, I think you can also reserve a table at Brass Anchor for $$$$$....
