Glad you made it in time for your flight, that is early.  Delta did it to me one time, it is concerning.  Now start thinking of the next one!

Sitting at our gate at the airport. Our flight is now delayed until 10:41.  It is in the air headed this way. We were off the ship by 7:30.  Facial recognition scanners were all down so we had to show passport to customs officers. I'm guessing that's might hold things up a little for the folks getting off today. 

Yesterday was a day of rest. Today is a day of packing. We're going to take a break at 2:30 and watch voice of the Ocean. We're supposed to meet up with the pilot at 5:45 and dock at 7. We have to leave asap and get a taxi and get to the airport. Our flight is at 10:14 am.  I didn't book it that early. AA moved it up. Crossing fingers and toes that we make it!

Yesterday was our last port day. We'd never been to Tortola and chose to take a taxi to Cane Garden Bay. Water was beautiful. Ride there was scary. We had watched Blogger videos and maybe they were dated but they showed where to walk to the taxis and it was $8pp each way. Not anymore.  It's $12pp and you pay round trip upfront and get a blue band.  When you leave the taxis are all there and you are directed to the correct one. The problem was it was a zoo. 20 taxis parked every which way. You had to wait until one or two backed up and then deal with one trying to get in on very narrow streets. We finally made it out... had another harrowing drive but arrived safely.   If we go back I will go out on a boat instead!  All onboard was 3:30... which is when I went up to Skywalkers. Rain was driving sideways and there was zero visibility. We were a little late leaving because we had to wait for it to clear up but we have 2 sea days now on the way home. 

Dinner last night was the Beef Wellington in Botticelli followed by the Captains Circle party at 7. I fell into bed at 8. 40 days at sea and the last 20 were port intensive Beach stops for us. I'm ready to go home and rest... wash clothes and repack. Going back out on the Enchanted on May 18-25.

Mine also... been there many times. 

On St. Kitts we went to Carambola Beach club. This is the nicest place to spend a day. The Atlas World Voyager was anchored off the coast with it's 180 passengers and tendering over to the pier at our beach. Prices subject to change of course but we paid $30 for 2 loungers and an umbrella of good quality. There's a $5pp entrance fee which is waived if you get the chairs. They have a nice restaurant on sight with food and drink service to your chair. Taxi is $7pp each way if you have 4 or more and they will return for you at a stated time or there are taxis waiting.  Nice restrooms and multiple outdoor showers. 

Italian night in the Botticelli dining room with Rasvan cooking. Last cruise I had it as an appetizer. This cruise I had it as my main course it was so good. This also is the only time they had sun dried tomato rolls in the dining room. Yum!

Rainy sailaway from Antigua after the most beautiful day. 

We had the most fabulous day!!!  We went on a beaches tour with Lawrence of Antigua.  There were 12 of us.  First stop was Jolly Beach where we spent 2 hours. Next stop was OJs beach bar and restaurant... where we had cheeseburgers and fries and spent an hour on the beach. Next stop was Ffryes beach for an hour and a half. We totally dictated the time at each stop and Lawrence accommodated us. Cost was $50pp.  Lunch was on your own expense. It was just the loveliest day.  We made  new friends and connected with old ones. Lawrence is the nicest man and we have toured with him several times and will continue to do so. 

Life is good!

Yup

This is our view this morning docked in St. MAARTEN. We're waiting on the weather to decide what it is going to do. Our plan is to take the water taxi over to Philipsburg and go to the beach right there. We've talked about it for years. Let's see if we get there. 

This was our view returning to the ship yesterday in St. Thomas.  

We're due into St. Thomas at 10 and again we are the only ship. 100% chance of rain. Let's hope there's some sun at some point. Apparently it's Carnivale today and shops may be closed. We'll see how the day goes.

I'm sorry you had that experience - we LOOOOOVED Planks on the Eclipse/Panama Canal cruise. We got 4 of the 5 entrees between us, everything was spot-on (pulled chicken a bit dry, but without sauce it's gonna be). I would love to have had some of the wonderfully spicy sides that land-based BBQ spots serve, but it's a cruise, so I just added extra pepper or hot sauce to everything and (chef's kiss)!

 

Same with Steamers - fantastic value. And the service staff for the pop-ups was awesome.

The Discovery often gets praised for the quality of it's food. Wish it was consistent across the fleet. Glad you had a good experience. 

Dinner was in Planks tonight. I forgot to take a picture of the menu. For $14.99 you get a starter which is a salad or a chowder... next is a selection of 2 meats out of 6 and sides are potato wedges...I think it said cole slaw but it was carrot slaw with raisins and way too much mayo...3 bean chili... Mac and cheese... which needed salt... some kind of mustard sauce... no clue what that was for... and a slider bun... next is dessert either banana pudding or chocolate cake.  I forgot they brought out corn bread and some butters. Or for $12 you can do just the middle part. You can get dessert for $3.

I didn't like the flavor of the brisket so didn't eat it. My pulled pork was half fat. In summary, a complete waste of money IMO.  I could have eaten better in the buffet.

It's already been discussed that I posted it in the wrong blog. 

This morning was our meet and greet.  The hotel director, assistant director and the Captain showed up! Not sure how many attended but it was at least 60.  We also had a gift exchange where 48 gifts were exchanged between us that brought them and all this was followed by a Slot Pull. We didn't win a fortune but 64 of us had fun. I was starving by the time we got to lunch at 1. My cherry Danish wore off long before that. Tonight we're trying out Planks. It's formal night and Rock Opera is in the theater. A busy day for sure. St. Thomas is tomorrow. 

We did make it to Princess cay yesterday. The water was pretty cold but I suffered thru it. Last night we went to the Crown Grill. Honestly I don't think it's worth the money and we probably won't go again. Looking forward to the Sun Princess and all is new restaurants.
