Totally agree, I left the ship and feel totally let down and ignored by NCL. I’m beginning to wonder if there were any officers on that ship because once all this kicked off they were no where to be seen. Neither did they respond to any questions or requests for face to face meetings. We are obviously dispensable!

I saw the Captain every day at Starbucks he's always sitting at one of those tables. But I think he doesn't care he's getting paid no matter what. And an earlier poster said they left the general manager Tony questions and he never even bothered to respond. I really just seems once they have your money for the reservation their attitude is completely lackadaisical.

Buffet bar has the sign ready when asked "no information"

On my way off the ship. O'Sheehans told me they were going to serve alcohol. Youre saying they have no information about whether it will be available? I hope they get it worked out cuz I get on the Dawn on the 24th and every one of those ports is pretty much in the UK except Dublin.

Sailing on the Star out of Southampton on the 31st. Called today about a shore excursion and also asked about the alcohol situation. She told me everything had been resolved. Obviously that's not the case. We aren't big drinkers but I do have the package and expect to be able to use it or get my money back.

Waiting for 7am to roll around when some of the bars open. Either they will be open or there will be a sign. Very curious though, because I'm taking Dawn on the 24th after getting off Star today.

I've been cruising for 25 years and I have always paid the recommended gratuities in full.

However, I'm sailing with NCL soon and if Free at Sea is not delivered as sold to me, I'm afraid I will deduct from the service charge. Ideally I'd like to deduct it from Tony's salary (the GM on Star (post 976) who seems to think it is fine to ignore his passengers' requests and concerns), but I know I won't be able to be specific.

I agree with post 982 that Miami will do nothing. They are a long way away and can hide behind a keyboard. I'd be interested, however, to see what recourse we have in the UK with regard to (for example) travel agents who are selling these packages.

You can file a fraud complaint with the Florida Attorney General. NCL will be notified of the complaint and I would guess they will respond quickly at that point. I know they have their Contract of Carriage but it seems so egregious, especially since they did it last year when I was on Gem as well. what would be more effective is if many people off this Star cruise filed the same complaint.

I would suggest that people start sending e-mails detailing this situation and stating that other cruise lines sailing from the same port are not suspending serving alcohol.

    Try sending e-mails to : vicepresidentguestservices@ncl.com

I believe this is Katy Bird's address and I know her office has responded to customer concerns in other areas.

Good luck and hopefully this situation will be dealt with.

I emailed Harry Sommer, the CEO, last year over issues on Epic and he responded back personally in 5 minutes. I was shocked. But you'll probably get a response from him.

This situation is getting worse! I was on the Gem last May on the first eastern med cruise following repositioning and experienced the ban on alcohol sales in Greek ports. This was resolved for folks with the beverage package as we argued the case that we were not being ‘sold’ alcohol it was just being ‘delivered’.

I’m currently enjoying a great western med voyage on the Epic (6th time on her). We were in  Livorno the last two days and had a similar notice that stated that spirits could not be served due to local regulations. I have the free at sea beverage package and would have been outraged if I had paid the additional alcohol supplement and could not be ‘served’ spirits. The latest notice is a clever play on words as we cannot be sold or ‘served’ spirits. Also bearing in mind the original itinerary for my cruise included a stop at Sardinia which was pulled and a second day at Livorno added.
It seems to me that while NCL can away with it they will. P

I was also on that Gem cruise out of Civitavecchia in May. I just chatted RCL in reference to the Anthem going out the same day we return on Star. Anthem just left and their bar was open in Southampton. The agent also told me it will be open on the 21st.
