  1. I asked our shoreside concierge:

    1) Is Le Voyage included in the upper suite specialty restaurant dining?

    Answer: Yes

    2) Can a specialty dining package be used for Le Voyage?

    Answer: Yes

    3) Can I get reservations at Le Voyage for a large party?

    Answer: NO

He said the dining department told him the tables cannot be moved.  They can only accommodate parties up to 4.

    4) Can I make reservations for 3 tables of 4 at a specific time?

    Answer: NO

He said they only seat 1 table at a time in 15-minute intervals so I can make reservations for my whole party but not at the same time.

It sounds odd to me but I will find out in 2 weeks when I am on board.

I was able to get reservations at Prime Cut steak for my large group.  I'm not sure what the table configuration will be.

  2.    I also heard that if you book with a big box TA you weren't eligible but to my surprise, I got an email about 60 days prior to sailing asking if I wanted to move up.  I ignored it.  Then I got another email at 30 days out.  I emailed the department directly and gave a lower than minimum bid and was surprised again that they actually responded to me and said that my bid could not be submitted because it was below the minimum.

  3. I thank everyone for their advice/input.  My TA has admitted that she made a mistake telling me we can get Aqua class since we do need 1 cabin for 3 people.  We have decided to go with Concierge and we will get 2 tables in main dining room and specialty restaurants as we have done in the past.

Please be mindful of other guests who have also paid for the Blu dining experience, usually a quiet one, and do as suggested above. Split the group up into 3 tables so the noise is not so intrusive to all other diners. Your service will be better that way too.

I love this idea, thank you.

Without wanting to come across as intrusive, you may or may not be aware that AquaClass staterooms all have a maximum occupancy of two guests...

I was not aware of this...I'm glad you pointed that out.  Now I am confused why my TA said she would get back to me with a price for Aqua.  We have a hold right now on Concierge class.  Is that also only 2 pax per cabin?

I have not seen a group larger than 6 in Blu, I think that may be the largest size table.

While they may be able to push tables together to seat 13 conversation can be be difficult and groups that size can get very loud,

Splitting the group into 2 tables (and rotating people) will allow for better conversation and be less disruptive to the other guests in Blu.

Yes, this is what we have done in main dining room.  We have 2 tables and rotate just as you suggested.  It's nice to sit and talk with different family members each night.  Last cruise we got quite creative each night, putting ladies at one table, men at other, then we had couples together, siblings together, in laws together, all different combos!

  7. I have been in Aqua class on the Summit with just my DH.  The tables in Blue were set mostly for 2 people.  For our next cruise on the Reflection we will be with the whole family, 13 all together.  We are considering Aqua class rooms.  Has anyone had experience with a large group dining together in Blue?  We would of course tell them in advance and eat at the same time (early) each night.

  8. I've been looking on recent threads that mention the Summit but I haven't seen this...

I know in the past on a sea day that would have one of the specialty restaurants opened for a limited lunch menu and a lower cover (like 1/2 price). I was wondering if this was still going on? Otherwise I'll be looking to haggle down the price for a dinner ;p

I just got off the Summit this morning 7/30. The only specialty restaurant open for lunch was Sushi on 5 which had a la carte pricing. They did offer 20% off if you went to the sushi making demonstration. They were offering buy 1 get 1 at Q'sine and 30% of Tuscan for dinner.

  9. I decorate our door on every cruise. I usually put an American flag. Not only does it show where we come from but it helps me find my room. I have heard many positive comments from people who my decoration has helped them find their own room.

Our next cruise that leaves a week from today, yeah, I will be putting a few magnets that will identify where we come from and what hobbies we have. It's a great conversation starter.
