Next week I will be flying from LAX to Teipai to Shanghai to board a cruise in Shanghai. I am wondering about entering China. Since Teipai is my first entry point into China, will I go through immigration here, as opposed to Shanghai? My flights are all with the same airlines. Eva Air..........will I have to collect my luggage in Teipai and then re-check it into the flight for Shanghai? I already have my China tourist Visa. But just trying to know what to expect. Thanks for any info you can provide me....

As a solo traveler for more than 10 years, I have found that I feel much more secure on a cruise than I would touring on my own. I think it is the idea that you ha e somewhere where you are expected

I will be on a cruise that stops in Fujairah for the day at the end of March. The beach tour offered by the cruise line only includes about 3 hours of beach time, but we will be in port from 8am - 6pm. Has anyone booked a day pass to any of the hotels such as the Le Meridien before? Do you know how far these hotels are from where the ship docks?

My daughter just flew with them from Paris to LA last week and had no problems....that said they do nickel and dime for everything. She brought food and drink on after going thru security

Virgin is my favorite airline! Tjey just seem to not be able to do enough for the paddenger....and they have personality....always try to book them first, but price is always an issue. Have only flown coach with them. If I can get them...great, i if their price is too high.....as it was on my recent booking LAX to Dubai....then I have to go elsewhere. I will be flying BA instead....got PE and still lower than VA econo.

If you can adjust to drinking tap water.....and it's not a problem for me....there is an easy answer. Bring an empty water bottle and fill it in port. Empty before you return on board.

I have a Pac Safe crossbow bag that I love....it has so many latches and closures that sometimes even I have a hard time opening it! In it go my travel wallet, camera, sunglasses and it has a side pocket for my water bottle.

First off, I know that everyone has different expectations the perfect cruise...I think I would echo, " pretty much any cruise where I don't have to work, poop in a bag or repel pirates is fine by me" My sentiments exactly. Travel has taught me a lot of patience and I have developed a "go with the flow" attitude. I appreciate your review of the Star......I will be on the March 27th sailing from Dubai and feel I know a little bit more about the ship now.

Not surprised that Eric won....she seemed to have been favored all season, but I don't think she was the best designer.....her designs were very young looking and a bit too trendy. I think the other three did a much better job. Would love Laurance to do a leather piece for me....she is flawless in her exicution!

On the theme of bariatric surgery. ....I had the sleeve done about 3 years ago and will be going on a 20 day cruise in March 2017. For me, a lot of my protein is gotten from drinking at least 1 protein shake per day. I am cruising NCL and they have said you can't bring on any beverages......ant suggestions as to how I should handle this?

Love the fashion Laurence makes! Her jacket this week was cute and well exiquited and her LBD.......I Loved That Dress.......the sleeves were to die for! I liked what Eric did at the beginning, but she now seems stuck!

I must be odd in that I had a forward cabin (about the 3rd back) on a Mediterranean Cruise and loved the motion; best sleep ever! The anchor did wake me early but I just thought of it as my alarm clock.

I am always amazed at folks misplaced anger....as if the captain skipped the port intentionally, for no reason. The safety of the passengers is paramount and can not be 2nd to anything! People who storm the lobby and yell at whoever wears a uniform need to learn that there are other ways to handle your frustration....there are always a few on board any cruise!

Hi....I have done 2 or 3 of the transatlantic (repositioning ) cruises and have really enjoyed tnem! Initially it was the price that attracted me to my first.....it was like $400 for 10 days! My favorite was the one I took on Royal Caribbean....even though we had a lot of sea days, they had so many activities it was impossible to get bored. Cooking demos, financial talks, a former space center official etc. Now it may have been because it was early December and the ship was amazingly decorated for Christmas, but the other transatlantic I have taken have not had as many sea day options

Also, if you can book last minute (around 2 mo ahead), you can often get a lower single suppliment. As a planned, it is hard to wait, but saving money is a good motivation!
