  1. We actually have made our list.  Fortunately we will also have the luxury of a Concierge on this cruise and will email her as we get closer to our sailing date.  I’ve always tried to be a  do it yourself kind of person, but asking our Concierge make reservations is the best option.  Thanks for the reminder!

  2. We purchased the Ultimate Dinner Package, but the Cruise Planner won’t let me make a reservation.  It keeps wanting to charge me.  I also called the number on the App and a Human told me I had to wait until I got onboard. Since Chops is my only option on Enchantment, I’m concerned I won’t be able to get in at a reasonable time if at all. Advice is most welcome!

  3. One thing I know for certain is that Royal can be consistently inconsistent.  We are just so happy to be going on a cruise that we are content to go with the flow.  After we board we’ll head straight to Chops. If that doesn’t work, we’ll either grab a sandwich at the Park Cafe or head upstairs to the WJ.  I’m confident we won’t starve.  My goals for this cruise are fresh air and relaxation. Ommmm…..

There were a couple of reports in the last couple of months that the MDR was open for lunch on boarding day.  Someone on the current cruise said it was not open when they boarded this past Friday.  It seems to vary.  The WJ and Park Cafe are definitely both open for lunch.

I appreciate your response.  We won’t count on it and will also enjoy the first day enthusiasm of passengers in the Windjammer.  I did a little Googling and found some references to turning first day Main Dining Room lunch and carry on luggage drop off into a Key benefit.  We’ll see.  I’m sure Royal will continue to tweak their procedures as they re-up to increasing capacity. Hey, we’re cruising again!

  5. Got both bases covered for next cruise, Suite and D+, also pretty much a non drinker. One does it.  My vouchers will likely be used for coffee at Lattitudes and bottled water. Just curious as to how it was all going to work. Royal has been consistently inconsistent over the years and Covid certainly threw in a monkey wrench. Over the years different ships and staffs have also varied in strict or lax enforcement regarding drink menus vs a more liberal policy.  Will report back after the cruise. Fingers crossed for uncrowded, relaxing lounge experience.  I make it a practice not to invalidate anyone else’s experience or point of view.  Mine may be different.

  6. Yes.  Brand new and not yet in effect.  I have no clue how it will be implemented. If you get a chance, check out the Royal Crown and Anchor page for the recent updates.  Not the laundry list of benefits but the advertised enhancements.  No clarity on D+ and vouchers in their about to be restored admission to Concierge Lounge.

  7. You are right.  Royal did say there would no longer be overflow for lounges.  Just thinking about the logistics of sorting out who’s who for drinks if crowding not an issue.   It will be interesting to see if staff has to sort out who is a suite passenger vs D+ in the the Concierge Lounge for drinks. Cruise Cards for both will work in the magic door. To order a drink,  “Show us your Cruise Card.”  Kinda cringy.  Hope it’s not the case but not really vested in the outcome.
