it's early, as early at 5 in the morning sometimes.  They need to have it ready for the chair hogs who show up by about 6:30 to put a towel on a chair.  😛

lol i guess ill see how it goes then.   Im a light sleeper but itll be my first oasis class ship and first room that isnt an interior so im looking forward to it.

Here is the view from the same cabin but on the port side, looking at what would be your cabin on the starboard side.  Note:  This is Oasis, but they are set up the same.

Some people complain about noise on deck 14 cabins, others don’t.  Maybe it is cabin location or noise sensitivity or dumb luck🤷‍♀️.  On some ships over the years people complain about hearing deck chairs moved in early morning hours.  I don’t know that you will experience anything like this; I hope not.   Some people avoid deck 14 because they worry about noise.

When I do a mock booking for your cruise, I see available CP balconies on deck 12.  If it were me, I’d politely ask to switch to one of those and see what they say (call your travel agent if you used one; Royal if you did not)

we like the CP balconies.  Hope you have a great cruise!

Your right i was looking at the wrong dates.  Ill ask about moving to a different room but if i cant im not too worried.  I guess it depends how early they move chairs as I generally sleep 2a-8a or so

Your cabin sets right beside the super structure running across the width of Central Park. Look at a  YouTube vide of Central Park and look up.

Ok thanks i did.  Doesnt look too bad.

I have not stayed in that cabin.

There is a common concern expressed about any cabin on Deck 14 on Oasis class: there might be noise transmitted down from the pool deck above.  I would take earplugs and perhaps download a white noise app for the phone.  Hopefully you won’t need either one, but it is good to be prepared just in case.

There are people who really like deck 14 as it is so convenient to the pool deck and WJ.  Hopefully that will be you.

I sleep with white noise and not too concerned about it during the day.   It should be generally quiet at nightsay after 12 or so?

Check to see if there are any better cabins available in the same category and call to move if possible.

Nothing is listed on the website other than ocean view balconies which i don’t necessarily want.   Was looking for Central Park or boardwalk.  I may give them a call just to double check though.

Harbor house is next to old port. Galveston has a brand new terminal.

I'd stay over on seawall at a hotel with a shuttle. Stay on the beach. Or lyft over there.

i just looked and its still the closest ine and maybe a 20 min walk so its still a reasonable option.

Miami - you have the choice of two airports, Miami or Fort Lauderdale.  We normally fly Southwest which has a much larger presence in FLL so we transfer often.  Only about 30 minutes between the two cities.

The drive from Orlando to Port Canaveral is a bit over an hour - but it is a VERY easy drive.  Just bring a roll of quarters for the tolls.

Houston to Galveston - again flying Southwest, they go into Houston Hobby airport.  Again a bit over an hour between HOU and Galveston BUT do the research on how you are getting there.  There is only Enterprise rental cars in Galveston and for a while they were not open on Sundays (then for a while they were when more ships were in, then they were closed on Sundays again... check the current status).  Also dropping off / picking up a car in Galveston is expensive.  There is a spot in Texas City, but then you need a Uber/Lyft to get to the port.
Also - traffic between Houston and Galveston can be a pain.  Expect possible delays.  (maybe it was an accident when we were there, but traffic was really backed up).

I think ive decided on Allure and flying into Hou a day early.  Take galveston express to Harbor house.  Then walk or uber the next morning to the port.

Check airfare. My airfare to miami in march would be over $1400 during spring break. I'd pick Miami if airfare is reasonable. Hotels will be high in Miami, but check. I'm flying in for oasis.

Galveston hobby is closer, 45 minutes, sw flies there. IAH is farther and shuttle is more. Mama mia was fabulous.

I'd check airfare and hotels. I'm flying march 11 to miami.

Yes airfare and hotels in Miami are a lot so i think im gonna not go with that.  Leaning towards flying sw to Hobby and staying at harbor house pier 21 Galveston vs staying in port Canaveral and doing Wonder of the seas.

  6. Im planning on booking my first Oasis class ship at the end of March.  Im leaning toward Wonder out of Canaveral but not sure its worth the price over the other 2.  Allure is about $200 cheaper than Harmony but dealing with getting to and from Galveston may not be worth the savings.  Which airport and port is easiest to get to and from between Canaveral and Miami? Would you recommend one ship over another?
