  1. Yes maybe see you in Birmingham airport. We are not bothering with an airport lounge. We would have to leave home way too early to get our money's worth 🤣 I'll look out for you, I can pick your brains then! There are 3 of us travelling together, myself, my partner Peter and my friend. We are aged between 58 and 62, I have an auburn bob, my friend has blond just below  shoulder length hair and Peter has dark hair so maybe you will spot us in one of the bars. Thanks again for your help.

    Hi Paula

We are also travelling from Birmingham on the 4th.

I presume you are on for two weeks so you will be flying back to

    Birmingham on 18th.

You will leave your cases outside your cabin and you will not see

them again until you arrive at the luggage carousel at Birmingham.

So be sure to keep things out for your journey!

If you wish you can hire a day cabin on the 18th so you can shower etc

before your flight back, you normally get taken to the airport around 3.00pm.

We are actually sailing back a couple of weeks later and the coach

from Southampton will drop us off at Birmingham airport on 2 April.

Good luck and hope to see you around.

  3. Thank you so much davecttr, that is the type of information I was looking for. We have booked the limelight club for the second formal night and my OH doesn't want to be sat there in his tuxedo if he doesn't have to. He wants to be comfortable. We always dress nice for the evenings whilst on holidays anywhere in the world and no sports gear for us although on a land based holiday he will wear trousers for dinner in the hotel and then straight back to the room to change into his smart shorts and appropriate footwear as that is what he likes and feels most comfortable in.

  4. I know this has been asked before and I understand the basics but it is my first cruise so here goes! We are sailing on Arvia in the Caribbean on 4 March and I have two questions :-

On formal nights if you are not on captains table do you have to wear formal wear in all the bars and restaurants? I have booked captains table on one of the formal nights but on the other formal night I have booked the Limelight club and plan on visiting other bars such as the Glasshouse after it so will we need formal wear on that night?

Also I know men must wear trousers in all but the buffet restaurant but can men then change into smart tailored shorts after food and then go to the various bars/clubs in the said shorts?

    Thank you for your help

  5. Hi Colsers if you google 'Arvia Naming Ceremony' there are quite a few articles about it.

Details of Arvia’s Naming Ceremony Released — Cruise Lowdown

For the first time, P&O Cruises will hold a beachside extravaganza naming ceremony in Barbados to mark the naming of the spectacular new sunshine ship Arvia. There will be star-studded entertainment featuring some of Britain’s most popular performers and presenters in what promises to be an unforgettable show. The whole show will be broadcast live online on Thursday 16 March 2023 so you can dress up, get together with family and friends, and enjoy it all at home.

Ludlow said the ship will be positioned off one of the island’s most stunning beaches so the audience at home will be able to see the interior design of the ship as well as the performances and events taking place on the shore. It has been promised to be an unmissable event. P&O Cruises have said that the names of performers will be announced in the coming months.

I'm hoping we will be allowed off ship to join the beachside party!

  6. I'm on this same cruise as you, I haven't heard off P & O re the naming ceremony yet but did know that it was on 16th march. It's my first cruise and really looking forward to cruise and naming ceremony. I'm curious if P & O gave you any more details on the naming ceremony? Kind regards

Hi. I have booked a Caribbean cruise  on Arvia for 4 March this year. Am wondering does anyone have a better idea of what time the ship leaves the various ports, for example what does 'evening' or 'early evening' mean? I want to start to arrange my itinerary at the various ports. Any information greatly appreciated they dont seem to have the timings on the various port websites!
