Guest services has indicated as of 10 minutes ago that "everything next week is the same" "for now". Being less than 36 hrs before departure it is my opinion that they will have parts waiting in Miami. They flew in someone from Italy to GC in 16 hours. Cost is not an obstacle for MSC. Especially as the ship is "freshly delivered".
With 3700 people coming in for the next cruise, it's my opinion next week will go ahead but if they can't fix the problem in Miami we'll have a reduced schedule next week and potentially a delayed departure as Nassau is our first stop.
Everything is functioning fine around the ship.
We're just moving slowly. Currently 16 knots.
Oncoming cruisers might expect a boarding delay as the app has us now arriving in Miami at 8 am. It was a 7 am arrival.
That is good news! Fingers crossed!

Man:-( That would suck. I do not sail until Jan 29, but my heart goes out to people who would sail on Sunday. I the issue is able to be fixed.

I am new to cruising. Would a ship still sail if it was having issues with an engine? Or would the cruise line just try to adjust to the new max speed?

That is a fantastic deal! SO excited for you!
I did get all 3 upgrades this morning on our Jan 27th sailing. While I did not get a steal like you 🙂 it was cheaper than booking YC outright. I just don't think it's worth the stress. I'll book YC in the future!
Have fun!
Thanks mwolever!

Trying not to stress. Figure we won’t hear anything until morning at the soonest. Truthfully, I would be fine just spending the week at ocean kay. I just want to get away and have some sun.
You have the right attitude SMLWA. Any vacation is better than no vacation!

I’m supposed to on the 22nd.
We might have to rent a canoe lol. Sounds like we might travel faster than the Seascape at this point lol.

So, I have a cruise next week on the Seascape for a 7-day cruise. I originally booked my cruise in Oct 2022 and booked a balcony room (free upgrade), with the Fantastica experience and $200 OBC. Note, I am a solo traveler. I paid $805 total. I am not a big drinker and did not get a drink package.
I got an offer to bid on an upgrade last week. I place a max bid ($1000) for a Yacht Club interior room. It seemed like a good deal (I am new to cruising, only my 2nd cruise, first cruise was last year on the Carnival Elation). I am not picky and had a blast on that cruise. Yesterday I found out that my bid was accepted, but I was double upgraded to a Yacht Club Deluxe Suite.
I am extremely excited and looking forward to the cruise. I feel that I got a great deal. A Yacht Club Deluxe Suite for $1800 on a 7-day cruise.

They are also offering “upgrades” to the people in those cabins. If they take an upgrade then their suite will be available.
My thoughts exactly. I placed a bid on my upcoming cruise on the Seascape for the Yacht Club Interior room, which was sold out at the time of my bid. I won the bid and got double upgraded to a Yacht Club Deluxe Suite.

Wow, what an adventure. Hopefully they will have the issues fixed soon. I will be sailing on the Seascape on Jan 29.
