The Nieuw Amsterdam has turned and is now sheltered a bit by Elizabeth Island. The seas have calmed but a minor list still is present. Food Service will begin in ten minutes with no guidance on how.
My Room Stewards are doing damage assessment and noted that my bathroom drain has overflowed. My cleaning nearly completed, Five of their staterooms lost all of their glassware so lots of vacuuming to be done.
The Captain kept everyone informed during the last hours and we have weathered the storm (mighty close to a typhoon as far as I am concerned).
Watched the action unfold from Tamarind Bar. Lots of panels from the main pool cover and pieces of the cabanas behind crows nest flew off the side of the ship. Amazing to watch.

Just landed in Vancouver for this criuse, so excited! Hopefully between the 3 ships and the marathon tomorrow, embarkation goes well.

Thanks for the updates, John. I must say I’m not looking forward to next Sunday’s repeat of today, considering we’ll be in that crazy crowd waiting to board, since standing for any length of time is virtually impossible. And I’m guessing the requested wheelchair assistance is absent?
Looks like will be shared with Noordam. Never been in a situation where two ships from same line were using common use port. Do check in staff deal with both ships? Or are certain members only checking people in for one ship?

Nice reports, cant wait to board Nieuw Amsterdam in Vancouver on May 7th for 14 day great Alaskan explorer. Today I got a upgrade offer for $399ea to go from Verandah to Signature Suite. Heard the offers go quick so didn't even check if it was good deal called up HAL and got last SS.

Update as I boarded Coral today in Perth. Regarding CDC card, was absolutely good to go. With the Self-test the agent didn't even look at my picture (same as I submitted to app) and just said I believe you and checked me off on tablet and I was good to go.

When we boarded in Sydney on April 2nd two of our traveling companions had taken the antigen test too early (closer to 2 days in advance) and were pulled aside to be tested again. The port staff were very kind and there was no charge for the mistake.
BTW masks are required on board (except when eating or dining), disembarking, embarking, on Princess transportation and indoors on Princess excursions. Adherence has been remarkably high maybe because we are on a 28 day cruise (a bucket cruise for many).

I had booked an observed Antigen Test, but now notice that you can self test. The requirments are confusing as it says you should have the Test, ID and the Date. Is the date as simple as putting a piece of paper in the picture or is when you upload to medallion app?

Currently booking a coral princess criuse in australia as US citizen and noticed under proof of vaccination they list 3 Australian forms of covid proof. Will a US CDC card be accepted or is there something else I need to obtain?

Just booked the 14 day Alaska criuse on HAL. When doing my booking I don't believe I was given a dining option and my confirmation says Anytime. I am assuming that traditional is still available? Do I have to wait until onboard to switch if so?
