Thank you in advance for your help. It has been 10 years since my husband and I have cruised on Princess. We cruised 6 times on Princess and jumped to Celebrity. The Sun Princess has sparked our interest. Question #1- I have read that you are only “allowed” 15 drinks per day on the upgraded beverage package. Is this true? What happens when you reach 15? Back in the day we would stop at Total Wine- pick up a case- hand it to the porter and take glasses of wine to dinner. Celebrity Premium Beverage packages is unlimited and we do tend to start early with Mimosa’s! It is vacation after all. Question #2- we are Suite Retreat guests on Celebrity. I’m researching rooms on the Sun. I was looking at a Reserve Cabana on deck 9- but not on the “freeway” part of deck 9. I see rooms that are beyond the point where people would walk by you. Has anybody stayed in one of these “freeway” rooms? Are they better than I’m thinking? Question #3- Has anybody reading this been on a Suite with the Retreat Deck /lounge AND in a Reserve Collection Cabana suite? Thank you so much!
The package will cover 15 alcoholic drinks (Plus is $15 or under; Premier is $20 or under). If you end up drinking more than 15, then you will be charge the additional drinks. This often happens when the crew add two drinks to the same person rather than to each account holder.
Additionally, if the price of your drink is higher than what the package covers, you pay the difference plus they add 18% gratuity to the amount it went over.

Does anyone know if you get notified when you receive a message on the app?
Thanks
You have to have the app opened. There will be like a red dot on the bottom part of the app where chat tab is at when you get a message. The feature of an actual notification on top of the screen like when you get an email is blocked by default and you cannot switch it to allow notifications to be turned on.

Thank you! But how do I order thru a dining room menu if not via by the phone I wonder?
That's a suite perk. Being able to order food from the dinning room. So, you would need to use the phone for that. Your cabin attendant should be able to help you out. We never used that feature as we like to go to the dinning room.

Can someone please tell me if room service is included in the full suite or do I have to pay a fee for all deliveries? If it makes any difference we have an old plus package!
You can order from the room service menu or, they will bring you a menu from the dinning room and you can order food that's being served in the dining room. You will not get served like in the dining room. The food will be delivered all at once. If you order through the app, the delivery fee is waived with the Plus package. Not sure if it is also waived if ordering through the phone.

Ship: Regal Princess
Class: Royal
Deck: Marina
Cabin #M522
Category: MC
Port/Starboard/Bow: Port
Mostly Quiet: can barely hear some carts being moved around 4-5 am from the Horizon/Bistro Court
Mini Suite
View: Clear view with plenty of shade from the extended overhang
Privacy Issues: no
Wind: no
Soot: no
Problems: closet light sensor on the wrong side, keeps turning off. Had to constantly wave at sensor which is facing the closet where the safe at.
Comments: It is on deck 15; the pool and the buffet area are not too far. This cabin is not near the elevators, so you do not have to deal with the traffic noise.

When we booked our cruise we wanted a balcony but didn't choose a specific cabin and on my booking confirmation sheet it has listed OC and upgraded from OF. I don't know what this means. Do I have a balcony or not? Thanks for any information you can give me Mary
Which ship are you looking at? From what I am able to decipher, OF is ocean view guarantee. OC is an assigned ocean view stateroom.

I can second the previous comment. We never felt a dip, void between the two beds when configures into a queen.

There used to be a box to check within your cruise profile to do this but that was removed (reason unknown, by me anyway) some time ago.
Yes, I have been looking for that freaking check box like crazy. I feel better knowing that I am not losing it.
Thanks

Sorry, but the search button only mentions upgrades about packages and biddings. The last time we cruised Princess was in 2017. When booking, you could choose no upgrade or upgrade only to higher category type room. I cannot find this on Princess' website. Help! THank you

It is like luck of the draw. Even used different browsers and sometimes I am able to log in, sometimes, I am not. Go figure.

Instead of starting a new thread, I am going to piggy back into this one. We normally purchase supplemental insurance outside of Princess. Mainly in case we need medical evacuation. We have never purchased the Princess Platinum coverage. I understand that the $20,000 medical coverage is considered low. We do have great medical insurance which covers outside the US. We are heading to going on a West Caribbean Cruise.
My concerns are, not familiar with hospitals outside the US, do you have to pay upfront or do they accept payment through the insurance company. Will the Princess Platinum coverage be enough? Thank you

There's really no menu. Staff confirms that you are in a full suite and sits you down and then asks you what you want to eat. They will bring a selection of pastries for you chose from. Then you decide what you want and order it. As you can see, I attached the menu but is very generic. For example, I usually order eggs benedict with smoked salmon instead of Canadian bacon.

If one orders one of each course selection, is that enough food to eat?
Is there a time limit how long one can stay to eat the meal?
it is a four course meal (including soup or salad, and dessert). Should not go hungry.

Are these small portions for each dish? Would be a lot for me to eat.
Not any more. You only get to pick one item from each course.

Eggs Benedict but instead of Canadian bacon, get it with smoked salmon.
Avocado and shrimp omelet.

Wonder why you cannot get internet speeds on board the ship as you do on line?
For one, the technology is not quite there yet and mainly, cost.
Here is a video I found that explains how internet at sea works and how much it cost.

Awesome pictures. Cannot wait to see the rest.

Normal pull out sofa but small in size and the mattress is very thin. If the person is small enough, they may want to request the bed to be made on the sofa and not the bed.
