  1. I was on the Magic in January and was quite pleased. My room had a few shabby areas (drawer that wouldn't close all the way, carpet loose at the edge of the wall) but public areas were great. Every time I turned around a floor was being mopped, a window sill being dusted. I thought the food was just fine, with a few terrific meals and a few mediocre. I'm sailing on her again January 2025 with a different itinerary and can't wait!

  2. I was on the Magic the first week of January and really loved it. I thought the entertainment (with the exception of the piano bar) was terrific and the staff was so friendly. I was worried about the food, having read it isn't great, but that was not the case. I even did Chef's table and it was worth every penny!

I went ahead and bought Wifi for each leg last night. I have a lot of OBC the last two weeks so I contemplated buying the Chef's Table. It's up to $129!! Good lord, people have lost their minds!

    I don't mean Carnival.

It's actually sold out! Who are these people paying this much money.

Steakhouse is listed at $49, and Cucina at $24. Onboard pricing is still $48/$18 so I will be checking that out tomorrow to see if onboard pricing goes up. Good chance it will since it will be the first cruise of a new month.

I won't fault Carnival for raising the prices, supply and demand. I just can't understand the demand part of it. People just keep willingly paying more and more.

I do question how many in the steakhouse are paying, I would imagine most are on a comp (that's the only time I go).

Cucina on the other hand has always been empty at night. Not many takers at $15, yet it keeps going up. In the $15-$18 range I always found value but I'm not sure I still do after my meal there the other night. At $24 I'm not sure I would try it again.

I just purchased the Chef's Table for my January cruise and promptly thanked my cats for their generous Christmas present!

I was never able to purchase these on Chrome on my PC or at all on my phone (safari). But when I used Firefox on my PC I could get it to work without getting an error.

I had this exact experience trying to purchase them - wouldn't go through on Chrome but worked just fine in Foxfire!

I bought our soft-side luggage for about $50 each at Walmart about 10 years ago. It's iFly brand. It's got plenty of scuffs but nothing broken and still works just as if it was brand new. We only fly about once per year so maybe it wouldn't hold up to more frequent use. I think they are 25" (we used to have bigger and DH revolted and said he was done lifting bigger suitcases into the car). I've used a hard-sided case before and I hated the clamshell style.

I have the iFly hard sided luggage as well and really like it. The wheels are large, so it's easy to walk with. The outside is dinged up here and there from flying 2-3 times a year, but it's all cosmetic. I have the larger 27" but don't use it because I can easily pack 70 pounds in it. My go-to for long trips is the 25' and the carry-on size is perfect. iFly has some kind of warranty for 10 years? I'd have to look up my paperwork. I registered all my pieces but have not had any issues. For the price, these are great.
