We will be on the Vista. Does Carnival do any fireworks or anything special for the holiday?

I have an adult special needs son. He is not a fan of the Marvel, Spiderman, or Incredible characters.  Which ships leaving from Port Canaveral have more of the traditional characters?  I was planning on booking the Fantasy but it is being repositioned soon and most likely won't work out for us in the short time frame that is left. 

I was wondering about the pools/slides during the colder months.  Are they heated? If not for those of you who have cruised the Bahamas do you think the water would be too cold to use the slides?

I have only been on 2 cruises .Disney Magic back in 2000 and last year on Carnival Mardi Gras.  Both times we were mid ship around deck 9. 
 

I would like to do a Disney cruise and when I find a lower rate for an inside cabin most of them are on Deck 2 . These are not rooms mid ship. I believe Disney also picks the room. 
 

I need the lower price . How much motion do you get from the lower deck staterooms either front or back of ship?  We had some pretty big waves on Mardi Gras sailed in mid Sept 2023 when a hurricane was fairly close to us.  I took medicine and was ok. 

Is this beach rocky like the beach at the dock (both sides) we went to the left of the ship and while the water was fantastic some of us had problems with the rocks in the water.  

I have some questions. 

1, Does anyone know how much the IMAX theater tickets are?  

2. We have only sailed on Carnival Mardi Gras (Sept 2023) and Disney Magic years ago.  How does the Vista compare in size to The Disney Magic? I now she is smaller than Mardi Gras.  Did Vista feel more crowded to anyone due to the smaller size?

3.  Is the Italian lunch the only extra free meal?  

We leave Sunday 9/10 for the Bahamas from Port Canaveral. I am flying out in the morning to Tampa to spend a couple of days. My sister is freaking out and I am getting a little nervous myself..  If the storm goes towards the Bahamas where would be the most likely place Carnival would go instead?  I was thinking Mexico but I'm new to this.  This is only  my 2nd cruise and the first one in about 23 years.

It it's a major hurricane by early next week would they cancel the cruise?  This is the reason I told my brother he was nuts for sailing during September.  I somehow got talked into it and have too much invested now to cancel.

Since a lot of people fly to their cruise I thought I would ask this here.  If anyone has read my other posts you know that I have a special needs adult son.  He has never flown before and has Type 1 Diabetes.  We will have all of his diabetic stuff with us.  Since the TSA lines can be long and from my experience people are in a hurry what is the best way to help him through the TSA process?  If he goes first he might get ahead of me and walk too far away. If I go first will they let me go back and help him? We have connecting flights both going and coming home. I have only flown a couple of times so I'm anxious about it.  When I get to the connecting airport will I have to go through TSA screening again before boarding the next flight?  I live in South Alabama at the coast and we have to fly  to Nashville just to take a flight back to Tampa.  The return is Tampa to St. Louis then to Pensacola. My brother is in Tampa and we are riding together to Port Canaveral. 

Thank you for all of the thoughtful and helpful responses to my concerns.  I will definitely be taking his picture each morning  We have extra luggage tags/lanyard so I might have him keep a card filled out with the room number and my name.  I did manage to order a diabetic ID that is not engraved it should be here tomorrow. 

 I did not realize that the picture ID they take was made available at bars, gift shops andother areas. This would be very helpful if needed.  I also forgot about how many cameras are on the ship.  I am feeling more at ease but will still  be very cautious when we are out and about.  As mentioned above the maze to find your way around the ship would be a huge problem and I can see him getting easily confused.  He's a very sociable guy and talks to anyone and everyone so he would not be afraid to ask for help.

I don't believe he would attempt to leave the ship without a family member so I'm less concerned about that. I will post an update when we return.  I'm hoping for a great cruise and that potential Tropical Storm/Hurricane Lee does not actually turn into a storm  We are going to the Bahamas so hoping we will be good.

Thank you and I forgot I posted the same question last week. I’m sorry getting older and had a senior moment I guess .

My adult son has a cognitive disability and is also insulin dependent. He can't read despite many attempts to teach him. I am concerned that if were to get separated that he could not find his way back to the stateroom.  I have every intention of keeping him with me and not letting him wander around on his own  Does Carnival have a plan in instances like this? Would they make an announcement asking him to return to a central or specific location? We have other family members on board who could help look for him but since the ship holds over 5,000 people it would take forever.  I'm getting nervous about this.. I can't find his diabetic bracelet and unless Walmart or a pharmacy has one in stock he won't have that on him. I did list his medical conditions when I signed in for the cruise. We sail on 9/10.

I was wondering what the average price was for the arcade games. We will be on the Mardi Gras.

Can we request sodas at any of the dining locations?

Thanks we may end up taking a 12 pack with us just in case. 

We are not drinkers so we purchased the Bubbles package. If you go to the bar to request a soda will they give it to you in a can? How are the drink stations? Is the soda watered down/too syrupy/flat ? I read a post from someone commenting on how bad the sodas were. I'm not sure which ship other than it was a Carnival ship.

Which cruise line sails Glacier Bay? If Carnival which ship is it? 

Is there a shuttle from the parking lots to the terminal ? Are there stairs to climb once in the terminal? 

If anyone has been on the Mardi Gras recently do you know if fans were available if requested.  I prefer cooler sleeping temperatures.  If no fans can someone recommend a cheap option to buy ?

We are cruising on September 10 and have the soda package. I have read different things regarding the sodas.  Is there a self service dispenser in public areas to get sodas? I thought you might be able to swipe a card or something.  If this isn't available do you have to go to the bars to ask for drinks?

What time of the year is better for finding less expensive Disney cruises ?  Is it better to use a travel agent?  We would be interested in Alaska, Bahamas or the Caribbean.  I have no desire to cruise during prime Hurricane season although I am doing so in a couple of weeks. I do not want to repeat this scenario again. I got talked into it because it's a huge family trip. 

Can someone please tell me how much the booking deposit is to hold a stateroom and when final payment is expected?

I saw the documentary on the making of the Disney Wish and I was thinking about that one if the Magic does not sail where we want to go. It's a great documentary and very interesting.
