Sorry to be hitchhiking on this topic, but how has the hot glass show changed?
We were on the solstice in 2011 and really enjoyed the glass show corning then did. But there isn't a show anymore? Just a class you pay a hefty price for?

Enjoy your cruise! We'll be on the Silhouette with a similar itinerary in July, so following for the excitement 😁

The Pullman can go back in during the day if I recall correctly. The only time I’ve had one with 4 ppl we had an ocean view so I’m not sure if it would be different. Lord of ppl on here will say 4 ppl can’t be done but I did with two tweens and two adults as did a friend traveling with us. It was fine. Would a suite with multiple bedrooms/bathrooms be better? Yep, absolutely, but I just don’t have that sort of funding source. 😂
It's the four of us in one cabin or nothing, so we'll make due 😅 I don't think the kids will spend much time in the cabin during the day anyway, but I need somewhere quiet to flee to sometimes.

S-class balcony cabins with Pullman bed - how are they made up during the daytime? I'm assuming the Pullman bed stays pulled down, but what about the sofa?

Is this for an overseas cruise? I had this happen with our cruise out of Yokohama because they were essentially a day ahead of us. Remember check in opens at midnight local time for the departure port.
It's not overseas for me 😅

We're getting close to the check-in date for our upcoming cruise, but suddenly it's been pushed forward a day. Others on the same cruise have kept their date. Anyone have an explanation?

Actually many of the larger, higher capacity ships have more space and venues dedicated to handling the capacity and IMO feel less crowded than the smaller ships. But larger capacity is just that, and ships typically are scaled with increasing capacity with increasing size. Maybe try the older Vision or Radiance class ships with RCCL?
But if you feel the crowds were large on the ships you reference, than maybe some of the premium cruise lines with smaller ships and far less passenger capacity would be a better consideration for you.
We were on Jewel (Radiance class) last year and it was definitively uncomfortably crowded! It was difficult to find a seat in public areas, and everywhere was so noisy. I ended up staying in our OV cabin a lot more than I'd planned.

We're on Silhouette to Iceland and Ireland mid July, travelling with two kids. Know from our roll call that there will be a few others too, but I don't expect there to be loads.
We did the same itinerary last year on RCL Jewel of the Seas (older ship without much entertainment for kids) and had about 200 kids onboard. The kids were never an issue, but the ship being fully booked and nowhere quiet to relax because of crowds was. Silhouette has more public areas that are quiet, so I'm hoping that will be less of an issue there.
Our kids are easy going and polite. They will probably spend their time in the kids club and occasionally in the pool if the weather allows.

Welcome to Oslo, kk20! Looks like you'll have the perfect weather for exploring today. Enjoy!
We'll swing by and wave to you and the Silhouette in a few hours. 😁

Is it really 2 1/2 hours ????
That would definitively test our kids' patience 😆
Thank you all for sharing your experience with Le Petit Chef! It seems like the majority enjoyed the experience.

We're on the Silhouette this summer. Has anyone been to Le Petit Chef and can tell if it was worth it?
We're travelling with two elementary school kids.

We did 12 nights Iceland and Ireland last year with our two kids (8/11) in the summer. They enjoyed it! There were more kids onboard than I expected, so ours spent a lot of time in the kids club on sea days.

Has anyone travelled with kids on the Solstice class ships? Did the kids enjoy the kids' club?

What kind of power sockets are in your cabin, if you don't mind me asking? Trying to decide if we need to bring adapters.

No more standing at muster drill for 20 to 30 minutes. All done on the app now and a quick one minute stop at the muster station to check in.
This is amazing 🤩

This might be a silly question, but do you still get a physical sea pass or is it just digital via the app?
Cruising for the first time in 10 years, so very much out of date on our cruise know how. Is there anything new that's been implemented the last couple of years? Apart from the Royal app, that is.
whale watching comparison: Reykjavik, Akureyi, and/or Isafjordur?

When in Isafjordur, booking a trip out to Vigur island is another option, if you choose to do a whale tour in Akureyri. The island is teeming with birds: arctic terns, black guillemot, Eider and thousands of puffins. There's also seals.
