Connie,
Another forum you might want to research is the Disabled Cruise Travel forum at https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/114-disabled-cruise-travel/. That's where cruisers with physical limitations share their advice & experiences.
Hope this will be helpful!

Wow .... thanks so much!

You can always call Celebrity and ask to speak with someone in the shore excursion dept.
Thanks for the advice. I called yesterday and a very helpful lady gave me the info I need. FYI, yes, the shuttle bus can accommodate me and my wheelchair!

Does the shuttle take folks with wheelchairs? My chair is collapsible. We'd love to the the "Shuttle and New England Aquarium" trip when we dock in Boston in June.

You may also want to consider asking your question on the Ports Of Call forum.
Oh my .... great idea. I was not aware of that forum.
Thanks so much.

Has anyone taken this shore excursion yet? I use a wheelchair and I'm wondering if the ship's shuttle bus can stow my collapsible chair.
Thanks,

I have a question regarding the shuttle buses used in Portland Maine. We want to book a shore excursion for our upcoming cruise on the Summit (June 16th). Does anyone know if I can bring my collapsible wheelchair on to the shuttle bus?
Thanks in advance for any info you can give me regarding wheelchair accessibility on any of the excursions.

Has anyone stayed in a handicap accessible cabin? I use a wheelchair and need to have a walk-in shower with grab bars for support.
Any info would or advice be helpful to me.
Thanks!

I would like to book the Reidel workshop before my cruise, but they do not specify the date or time in advance. So how do you know if this will conflict with plans/excursions you have already made?? Is it generally on a certain day or what? Or can you easily book this once you are onboard? Confused.
Don't worry ... it takes place on a sea day. It will appear in the daily schedule. You will also get your invitation (it will be in the mail bracket outside your door). Ours was on a sea day during the return trip to Bayonne. It was a wonderful experience - very informative and a lot of fun!

Ship: Silhouette
Cabin #: 1601
Deck #: 11
Category: Aqua Class
Area: port side, near aft elevators
Bed near: balcony
Quiet?: yes, nice and quiet; no problem with pool area noise above (and I'm a light sleeper!)
Balcony view: fine; no obstructions
Balcony size: larger than others since we were on the slant; we had two reclining deck chairs, two foot rests, and one table
Wind a problem?: not at all
Soot a problem?: no
Problems/comments: good cabin; aqua class amenities were very nice; good location near elevators

We definitely thought it was worth it!
All these positive remarks are good to hear. :) We leave on Monday (Silhouette) and have signed up for it. I guess we'll find out on-board when and where it will take place?

i will post the updated pdfs to this thread and also to a new thread on the Celebrity board. If you like, I can email you the excel version which is more up to date at this point.
OK - thanks. No need to send me the excel version - I can wait. :)

I will be posting another update soon...
Thanks so much! Do you post a message on the general Celebrity board when it's updated or do I just keep checking back here?

Is there a summary (spreadsheet) with all this info somewhere? If so, how often is it updated?
Sorry, but I do not have the time and energy to read thru 70 pages of posts. :o

So, my question. I have checked and the final price before actually purchasing says $174 for DW and I. I have not purchased, although I plan on attending the event. Does anyone know, for sure, if I purchase now at $174 and the price finally shows $15 each, if I can cancel and re-book at the lower price? Or is there a credit added to my on board account?
Thanks in advance.
I just booked it on-line. My price is $174 for DH and me. I also just received an e-mail confirmation with the $174 price noted as "paid".

Did yours say $15 before?
No, I never saw the $15 price.

It looks as if the website has been fixed. It now says "starts at $82"; then, when I go to book it the price is $87 per person. I clicked on DH and me and it added it up to $174.

We were on the Infinity in April, 2011 and there was a Catholic priest on board. Mass was held every night. This was a two week cruise that ended on Easter. Maybe that is why Mass every night a 5.
Interesting! I guess we'll just wait and see. We are planning our cruise now and we are purposely avoiding the Easter season anyway since DH and I sing in our church choir.

We've been cruising on HAL for a while and they always have a Catholic priest on board to celebrate mass. Does Celebrity provide religious services of any kind?
Thanks,
Connie
