  1. OP, I can relate when you say “get through the next 50 days until the end of school.”  We’ve got less than 30 school days and I’m not sure I’ll get it all done  also have a bachelorette trip to Nashville and my only niece’s wedding before the cruise. Much to look forward to along with working full time plus being a full time grad student. I will definitely be ready to celebrate and relax when cruise time comes. When is your cruise?

  2. I would say from the comments the women behind us in line were making - no they were not. The guy was just a jerk. I can guarantee that my 75 year old mother was not twerking. Sorry' date=' but I don't find it funny when some drunk is grabbing my Mother (or anyone else for that matter). I know you are trying to make light of it but if it happened to your Mother and she had survived half of what my Mother had been through you would be offended.

For the others who commented on pressing charges. I left it up to my Mother as she was the one who had been groped. She took into account the fact that he appeared to have had a lot to drink. She too thought, as someone else had posted, that he may have a problem with boundaries and might be a habitual grabber. She did not want to press charges in Grand Turk. [b']Carnival Security contacted us several times during the remainder of the cruise and even checked with us when disembarking to make sure that she did not want to press charges in Miami. [/b] She was concerned about getting to the airport in time if we had to make statements again in order to press charges. I cannot stress enough how well the Security Staff treated us and handled the situation and that really kept a nasty incident from ruining our vacation.

This makes me wonder if they were trying to encourage you to press charges--maybe they had dealt with this guy before and was really hoping someone would agree to press charges so they could get him out of there??

  3. If they got offered a free cruise they are gambling thousands(depending on what they play). Comps from Carnival are not like here in AC :)

Not necessarily. My sister gambles much less than I do, she just doesn't get excited about it. She got a free cruise offer, I have not. I think it depends on how much you spend in comparison to other gamblers on that specific cruise. You may only play $50 per day, but if others only play $30-40, than you will get the offer.

  4. Well it looks like we'll officially know the New Suite Perks this week instead of having to wait till May.....John Heald posted this morning he'll be making the announcement This Week as well as posting videos and pics of all the different suites and rooms....Also info on the New IMAX theater n charges.....New Seafood Shack menu.....

And More info about the Vista

I can't wait and looking forward to all the News

Once these are announced, how long is it in general to roll-out?

  5. I also had a positive experience with this company and now use them every time. My daughter became ill on the last night of a cruise and needed medical attention. Not only did they cover all medical charges on the ship (including x-rays and several bags of IV fluid), they also covered several costly cell charges that arose from having to make arrangements to take her from the port directly to a hospital once we docked.

  6. Since it's no secret that there's a $35/pp charge for the steakhouse, what I would do is get a card, write a note in it explaining that reservations have been made as a gift from whoever, then either put the $70 in the card or a note saying that they will be reimbursed for the charges when they get home. Sign and seal the card and write a note on the outside instructing them not to open it until the morning of the 16th. That will give them time to plan their day to ensure that they can make the reservation. Cruise cash is nice, but there's always a chance that something could go wrong (wrong amount credited, not credited at all, etc) and then you won't be there to straighten it out!

  7. Been on the Triumph several times. Just off on Monday. We had wonderful dining room staff with Anytime Dining. We asked for them each night. Henry & Freddy. Guys Burgers are great. I'm not a fan of buffets so can't comment on that. We had a lot of fun in the casino.

If you just got off on Monday, Dec. 30, then we were with you! My mom's the one who hit the $10K+ jackpot. It was a great cruise!

  8. I don't know if this has been covered... I have to admit, I haven't read through all of this thread!

I tried searching for "dress" in the Carnival folder, but the search mechanism wasn't working for me.

I am trying to decide what to bring as far as more formal dresses goes. How formal are the formal nights?

I want to wear something pretty and fun, and I don't want to spend tons of money to buy anything too fancy anyway.

According to anyone's knowledge or experience, do you think one or both of these dresses would be appropriate?

    Short watercolor dress... http://www.charlotterusse.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3119508&cp=2843536.2903751&parentPage=family

Long Black and White dress... http://www.charlotterusse.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3104782&cp=2843536.2903751&parentPage=family

    Thank you! :)

    ((Conquest 8/3/08 :) ))

    honeynewbies,

Either dress would be fine for formal night, although the black and white dress gets my personal vote if you want to look a little more formal. You will see those who are really dressed up, those who "don't do formal night", and everything between.

  9. Thanks Cruisegirl.

I've figured out the piano guy on the Conquest last week was "Robert". That's about it. I guess if I don't figure out anything new before I go, I'll report on this thread and the piano thread when I return. :)

Was in Galveston 2 weeks ago and stayed at the Hilton. It's a great hotel, but they are in the middle of a huge remodel, so keep that in mind. If you call the hotel directly, you could ask them when they plan to have it finished, your stay might be just far enough in the future to miss the mess.
