Is anyone knowledgeable with a cab company from Heathrow to Southampton? I found
minicabride.com for $150 for both of us. Has anyone heard of them? Thank you!

To Choozin Croozin - Thank you very much for your thoughts on the Jewel of the Seas.
It helped me decide on a 5/2024 cruise and although an older ship your comments are encouraging!

I have been on Princees for five cruises and always had a great experience. One ship was 14 years old and I was needlessly concerned. Cruising is about the entire experience - the guests you meet, the extraordinary service, food, entertainment both in the theater and lounges, and a chance to see a portion of the world. Have a positive attitude and I'm certain you will enjoy!

Green lane - you have completed all check in requirements

To,"Gizmodog" I hope your read this:
I hope you are as pleasantly surprised as we were on the Infinity last year. I was concerned for the age of the ship and I learned a lesson. ALL WAS PERFECT. Have a great cruise!

We cruised on the Celebrity Infinity, a 21 year old ship in July of 2022, and the Apex in Dec in 2022. Everything was outstanding and the food was great. The surprise was that the buffet in both ships was marvelous, perhaps even better than the four main dining rooms. However, we never had a problem with the restaurants. Service was excellent and food very good.
On the Apex, nobody was checking if guests were washing prior to entering the buffet. And fewer mask which is a concern for us. We take precautions when we feel necessary and are covid free.

RE: Insurance provided by Celebrity. I purchased this insurance for our cruise and was informed it did not apply to a flight when booked with Celebrity.

This two day testing procedure has become worrisome. Has anyone knowledge if the Navica App works properly?. Are proctors available 24/7? What is the wait time?
Do we have a choice to use our laptops for the BinaxNow test and avoid the App?

On their website, Celebrity is selling an at home test which is monitored and information provided to the cruise line.
It is sold in 2 and 3 tests per package. $70 and $100 respectively.

For me, the pleasures of cruising and getting away is all that I require. For a week, it is a great experience to have no cell phone, and TV only to view ship related information. This is the experience and joy of cruising. But as stated earlier, a personal decision.

Thank you for the advice, I had a feeling there is a violation in a recommendation.

Celebrity recently stated all passengers over 12 yrs. old must vaccinate.

I have always booked with a travel agent of a known company. The prices are consistently better and never a problem with stateroom location.
I do not know if I am permitted to provide the name, does anyone know if I can? If so, glad to share it and name of the agent.

We receive our third vaccine on 8/30/21 as we cautiously await our 1/15/2022 Celebrity cruise.
Thus far I read their sister ship, the Edge, has departed with about 50% capacity. And no major incidents. We will be careful on the ship and with Celebrity's excellent safety requirements intend to sail.
-
Thank you. I should have been more clear. I would be interested in the % capacity for each Edge sailing since 6/26. However, I realize Celebrity is doing all it can to assure our safely.
-
I am grateful to those furnishing the percentage capacity of the Edge. How did you obtain the percentage capacity of a Celebrity cruise departing Florida, particularly the Edge? I have tried to obtain this information but to no avail. We are scheduled for a Jan. Apex sailing from Ft. Lauderdale.
Thank you

To graphicguy: thank you very much for offering the Celebrity letter which clarified the 72 hour and 3 day question.
-
My discussion with a Celebrity employee from their executive office (877) 290-5881 disclosed that I can consider the 72 hour rule to be flexible. My concern was having a 10:00 test on a Wednesday morning and arriving at the pier at noon the following Saturday, thereby have the test within 74-75 hours and not the required 72 hours. Her advice was to obtain the pre-covid rapid antigen test
3 days prior to the sailing, anytime on a Wednesday before a Saturday sailing. I asked that this be clarified to all on their website and when we receive the check-in instructions. However, something makes me uncomfortable not having this in writing as I fear being refused boarding at the pier regardless of my discussion.

I just spoke to a person who works in the office of the CEO for Celebrity. She assured me that if you have a negative pre-Covid test on, for example, a Wednesday for a Saturday sailing, you will be perfect.
There will not be strict adherence to the 72 hours but the three days instead. I asked if Celebrity could clarify the "72 hour rule" on its website and when they advise cruisers of this requirement when check-in is required.

In anticipation of the possible requirement that all passengers obtain a negative Covid -19 test no more than 3 days prior to sailing, I contacted both CVS and Walgreens at the suggestion of a Celebrity employee. The online registration for Walgreens is not working properly and I am informed they will only accept an appointment 3 days in advance of a sailing for a Rapid Antigen test and uncertain of a one hour result. CVS will provide this test but with a 1-2 day result. We require a one hour result to be certain this requirement will be satisfied. Does anyone know of a solution to this problem?
Thank You

We are from Florida and wish to book the 5/14/22 Silhouette cruise. We are both vaccinated. Can you confirm that as of today, a covid test is required within 72 hours of boarding, and that only British passengers are permitted to sail? Thank you
-
Here in FL are awaiting a judge's ruling on our governor's law against vaccine passports.
-
We will cruise only if 100% crew and passenger vaccination. Do not understand the CDC 98% crew and 95% passenger requirement. Is there anyone who knows the justification for the CDC reasoning?
-
You both have brought me back to reality. we never dwell on the insignificant and enjoy all our cruises. We begin our day early and would arrive at the Windjammer at about 11:15 for lunch, avoiding crowds. And we enjoy the long walks. we look forward to the Oasis of the Seas. Thank You!
