  1. We were a provided travel suggestions from our agent when we went to Budapest last year.

He recommended for "private transfers" Romulus Travel. http://romulus-travel.com

Bolt is the transportation/ride app that many use in Hungary

We flew in @1:30am, taxis were still running to get us to the Marriott. Taxi booth check-in and then get in the cue. Used apple pay for fare. Piece of cake!

  2. Another example of bigger is not always better . A mini suite is not exactly a bargain basement room . To have to pay for a steam room , to me is reallyl class price gouging by the Cruise line . This seems to be a pattern with the larger ships . Will probably make me pick a Celebrity Aqua Class room where steam room and select dining are included. See you later Princess

    Hi Dreadnot,

I completely agree. Its like a resort fee add-on in LV!

FYI-On my RC for the 8/19 Regal sailing, this was recently posted concerning a upgrade offer:

Got an upsell offer to go from a mini to owner's or premium suite for $799pp.

From my minor research elsewhere here on Cruise Critic, this seems kind of expensive for an upsell offer, though the final bottom line would still represent a significant discount from their normal rack rate and, given the overall expense of the trip (flight, room in Copenhagen, tours) wouldn't be much more percentage-wise. It might represent a once in a lifetime opportunity to us cheapskates.

We normally pick inside cabins or, at most, an obstructed view balcony guaranteed which we hope (and have had good luck getting in the past) gets upgraded to unobstructed. For this trip, the MF guarantee was surprisingly priced at the obstructed view regular balcony rate on our agent's website when we booked several months back. Just an outlier, I guess. I was delighted when the room assignment came back as MB.

So we're happy enough with the room we have and, traveling without other family, I'm leaning towards rejecting the upsell offer - if it even still exists after the weekend when my travel agent reopens. The difference in price would, after all, pay for a week cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale, Vancouver or San Pedro in the future.

  3. Hi Everyone,

We are on a Baltic Princess Regal sailing and hoping there are few CC people that can share some layout info concerning the Regal.

If you were to meet up for tours with your RC group, what deck and location would you recommend? On the Sapphire we met at the piano area on deck 5. Here it was quite easy to meet up and get off the ship.

For a 20-30 people M&G, (small RC) any locations to recommend? On the Sapphire, Princess opened up the Skywalkers location for us. We had over 100 people.

Anything of interest, please share. This is a mega ship! TIA

    Regards,

  4. At 22 minutes a episode, frankly they were probably looking for interesting things to film.

Focusing on the dancer, CS rep guy, engineer, tender driver, housekeeping & kitchen.

Interesting they waited for the couple, 55 minutes late and they were actively looking thru field glasses for them. The computer glitch probably saved them.

The lost luggage was a shame for the Saudi family. The people who had the foodie experience for 75 pounds dressed really casual. I guess if it was a formal evening they had to comply?

The anniversary cake was bit much. It would have been funny if they could not get it out of the kitchen. Wasting 200 eggs and 10 kilos of sugar.

The last episode looks like it focuses on SPB, casino & dining.

  5. If they track with cruise card, then what kind of rewards do they translate into on the current cruise or is it still something in the future? I recall receiving like a bonus $75 playing credit, however you gotta buy a cruise to use it !!

Again its been 4 years since last cruise so just asking.

  6. We received an email. Since we only use one email address, there was some confusion for whom the casino rate applied to. For a recent Baltic cruise booking, before the twice as nice promo, we received a slight discount and comp gratuities. Now with a recent price drop, twice as nice, etc. the casino rate was a good starting point.

One question, has anything changed since 2012 (last cruise) at the casinos themselves, IE comp drinks or rated play?

  7. My last cruise w/princess was in May of 2012. Recently checking Northern Europe, compared pricing @ box retailer travel co, and princess. Princess has certainly changed their business strategy. Now the cabins are segmented , early booking has no advantage & promos have greater value at box TA. IE credit, speciality dining & tips. This varies on different dates and embarking ports. So the discount in the early stage of booking goes to TA.

I am glad to come across this thread. It explains/confirms what's I noticed. Thanks for your insights.
