  1. Why do you think that would happen?

worried about teenagers, or someone who has had too much to drink. or someone clumsy. I have an overactive brain.... plus we just like our privacy and protection from sun...have to take care of my skin. I live in florida, I have enough sun...and prefer a covered balcony.

  2. I just got back from Infinity 6135 (same cabin on the other side of the ship).

It’s about 1/3 covered 2/3 uncovered very large balcony.

little bummed about that. was hoping the whole balcony would be covered. hope people don't throw stuff at us from above:o:eek:

  3. Mabe they don't offer it since it's only a 5 night cruise. I think that looking twice a day is excessive. You either have it or you don't. Just try and negotiate something when you board.

will do....do you happen to know when the captains night or formal night or chic night (what ever they call it now?) would be on the 5 night cruise?

  4. I'm on Infinity next month and I have a 30% discount for the first night. Look for Tuscan Grill in the dining menu. I had 2 entries. One was for the first night of the cruise at 30% off. The other was for regular price the rest of the cruise. I did not book it. I figure with a 15 night cruise there will be ample opportunities for discounts.

No similar offer for LPC/Qsine (just as well since I have no interest in eating there).

Nope...just checked my planner for both restaurants on the first night and no discounts....guess I will just keep checking...morning afternoon and evening everyday...and hopefully I will get lucky.

  5. We are travelling on the Eclipse in Nobember.

I have just logged on to our cruise personaliser and they are offering a 30% discount on dining at Murano and Tuscan grill for our first night.

    Which one would you pick?

    Is this worth it?

We were thinking of treating ourselves to one of the speciality restaurants just not on the first night!

    Thanks

We are going on infinity in November. I went to my cruise planner and they aren't offering any discounts:loudcry: ....did you get an email? or did you just get on to check it out and see that the 30% discount offer was there? was it for just the first night or the entire cruise? I keep checking but no such offers on my planner:loudcry::loudcry::loudcry:

  6. Just off infinity 9/2 to 9/9/9. We were told you could not use the coupons in the theater or dining room. Also can only use them between 5-7.

can you use these for frozen drinks or irish coffee drinks? would love to get a daily pina colada:hearteyes:

  7. Check your on-line Cruise Planner for your cruise, on our recent cruise they were offering 30%discount for booking a speciality restaurant for the first night. If the 1st night works for you it would be easier to book ahead that on tge ship. BTW the discount for the 1st night if you booked once on the ship was the same 30%, but fewer time slots to choose from.

30% that is substantial...wish I could eat at both restaurants the first night..

  8. Quick question about the CC1 cabin 6136...is there a cover over the balcony or are we exposed to the elements and cruisers above us? Oh and anything else you can tell me about this cabin would be welcome... Never been on Infinity.....

OH yeah...can you reserve the specialty restaurants before we cruise without paying for it until we eat there? I want to reserve it now but I want to use OBC to pay for it.

  9. So, does everyone eat the same thing at the same time? How many meal sittings are there each night? Should I make a reservation at home before we leave or is it safe to do it on board? Really disappointed that I didn't get to try Q-sine. But I don't want to miss this.

Another question...Should we go to Tuscan Grill...yay or nay? Our cruise is in November...5 nights on Infinity.

  10. Ok so it has been 4 years since my last cruise and we have never been on INFINITY... we have a CC1 cabin and we are Elite.. I have some questions:

    1) Do we still get a bottle of Champagne in our room?

    2) on a 5 nite western caribbean...when is formal nite (or whatever they call it now)

3)can we still bring 2 bottles of wine on board with us?

4)We wanted to go to Q-sine since we never got the chance to go years ago but I see that it is replaced by la petit chef:loudcry:....really did not want to do that...but would try it at a discount...how could I get a discount?

    5) are the pastries/cakes/pies etc still free at cafe el bacio?

    6) being Elite do we still get free drinks for a couple hours each night? if so where do we go to get them and how many can you get?

    7) my hubby does not like going to the buffet...we planned on going to bistro on five for lunch when we boarded but I see that it is also gone:loudcry:...what other options are there for us? any perks for lunch with a CC cabin or Elite status?

Thanks for your help...might have more questions since our cruise is in 2 months...everything happened so fast...

  11. thanks for all the responses. I have been off for a while. just found my post. I will definitely ask for a discount. would love to get a two for one. that would be awesome. then my hubby can buy more wine. :p and I will also look for the cruise director and mention my parents and if they could be on the show. I know my dad would love that…he is such a ham. and the two of them together is like abbott and costello. As for the luggage. I think we may check them in but we are definitely going to carry off. the last few times leaving the ship were so hectic my hubby was ready to stop cruising. He said he will try the carry out luggage and if that works then we will continue to cruise. The luggage if very lite weight and very easy to manage but if my parents have a hard time then my hubby and I can each take 2 bags…they are that manageable. I just wish I could get Celebrity to sell me an upgrade for my parents at a deep discount. I called them today and they wouldn't give me anything. :(

  12. It's probably been asked but I can't find it. How can I get a discount at a specialty restaurant? my parents are cruising with us in december to celebrate their 60th anniversary and my hubby and I wanted to take them to Qsuine..since none of us have tried it. one dinner is going to cost us $200 (will do it regardless of getting a discount or not) just hoping to save a little there. any suggestions?

Do they have a love/marriage show? any chance my parents could be the longest married? would be fun.

Oh and we were thinking of carrying all our luggage on…anyone ever have a problem with that? we purchased ultra lite luggage and will take one each. Also bought my parents the same so they could do the same.

  13. Try http://www.parksleepfly.com for hotels that will let you leave your car. You may have to pay for a taxi to get to and fro the terminal. I prefer to stay in Ft. Lauderdale myself. I find the hotels much nicer...at least the ones that offer parking packages on parksleepfly. And trust me, you will get a better rate going through that website than booking directly with the hotel and buying their parking package. Then I use QLS ($15 pp) to take us to Miami. This may sound pricey....but many a cruise out of Miami has made us decide this is the way to go.

I will check that out. but the reason I was thinking of best western premier was because I have a $100 GC for them. Do you have to pay extra for the room if you leave your car there for the week?

  14. We used a garage at 1430 NE 2nd Ave through globalairportparking dot com. It was safe, very quick and easy to the port. Coming back we waited 30 minutes or so, but friends we made on the cruise who were just 5 minutes behind us disembarking had to wait 90 minutes or more.

One problem is that the Celebrity terminal is last on the loop through the port, so your shuttle fills up before it ever gets to you. With 6-7 ships coming in the same morning it is a zoo. You could also hail a cab for your ride back to the garage for about $20.

never did celebrity out of Miami, just RCCL years ago. don't like being at the end of the line. will check out that garage. when was the last time you used it?

  15. We live in north florida, so we like to rent a car (about $35 for a day) one way and drop it off.

We usually take the trans atlantic cruises so we fly straight back to home.

I don't know if that works for your situation but i thought i'd mention it.

we used to rent a car one way there then one way back years ago when we did go out of miami BUT I cannot find any decent prices. If I could find a $35 trip then I would do that. what car rental place did you use?

  16. Ok so we are (after many years) going out of Miami. We do NOT want to park at the port. Any suggestions on where to park that is easy to get to and not overpriced. We are also considering staying at the Best Western Premier for a night and then keeping our car there for a week. Anyone ever done that? Thanks for all your help.

  17. I don't want to book an actual cruise. I want to book a future booking for RCCL on Celebrity. I suppose I will also book a future cruise on Celebrity too, since we love Celebrity. It's just that I am pretty sure I am going to take an RCCL cruise in December and I would hate to lose a $100 OBC for doing a future cruise booking.

  18. Yes, you can book a RCCL or Azamara cruise while onboard Celebrity's ships. Hope this helps. Happy New Year !

that will be perfect, then we can get a $100 OBC for when we book it (Does RCCL still give you a discount on your balcony room if you are a diamond member?) plus now they have a special if you book a 2014 cruise before feb 28 they give you OBC. so added to the $100 future cruise plus if I transfer after to my TA I can get more…woo hoo.

  19. I wish they would do like celebrity. elite on celebrity get drink vouchers that are good at most bars between 5-7pm. It is sooooo much easier. as for the inline skating track (I remember it was near the mini golf) I wonder if I could bring my roller skates? don't care for inline but I do like to exercise with my roller skates. I am disappointed that she won't be updated before we go but at least she has sentimental memories as that was where we spent our honeymoon. I am so thrilled that she is going out of port canaveral to the ABC islands!

  20. Well, it has been many years since we last sailed on Explorer. However we are now looking at a cruise out of port canaveral to cruacao in December 2014. What I would like to know is when was the last time she was in dry dock? Also did they ever add a diamond lounge to her? oh one more thing, do they still have a roller skating area? and do they have roller skates or do I need to bring mine? THANKS!

  21. I'm going to guess that the change was made when they went from a fixed drink menu to the $8 or less. I don't know the menu for the Martini bar, perhaps they don't have a lot of less than $8 drinks?

Like others had said, they served martinis in smaller glasses. but that was plenty for me. sometimes I would get a mimosa. I took those into dinner with me. but I am going to miss those free little martinis before dinner. they are the size of the flight martinis…I think..but perfect for me. the flight is way too much for me.

maybe on silhouette in january they may be flexible?

  22. Elite members are given 3 vouchers daily, which have your last name, cabin number and date printed on them. The custom printed vouchers are new, but it makes sense. The vouchers are for beverages up to $8.00 (beer up to $6) to be used between 5-7 pm. It states on the vouchers "For use in bars or lounges excluding Martini Bar, Michael's Club, Specialty Dining, Main Dining Room, and Molecular Bar".

when we were on the eclipse in March we could use our vouchers in the martini bar. Whne did they stop that? I was looking forward to using them there in January. now I am sad… :(
