  1. Has anyone done a beer tasting on the Disney Magic? (Or any of the other Disney ships)

Planning on doing one in November, but wanted to know how many beers did you get to sample? How did they vary (international beers near the cruise your on?)

Where was it held, and did you have to tip? Tia

  2. See below for actual numbers. They say each passabger can have 2 checked bags, and one carry on bags. So (assuming the two kids are big enough to carry stuff , 3 carry on bags.)

Couple things to think about though for your daughter:

1: when do they plan on embarking the ship? They can board around 11 if memory serves me right, however, they blocked off the rooms until 1:30, so unless you go later, your stuck holding your luggage...

    2. Checked bags. They will deliver to your door sometime on day 1. So any toys or must haves for the kids should be put in carry on. Same goes for medicine, glasses/contact lenses/solution, and swim suits. (My wife and I packed an extra set of clothes, and bathing suits in carry on)

  3. My wife and I did the rainforest room on the dream. Planning on doing it when we go on the magic next year..

Below is for the dream. I believe the magic is smaller. But don't know specifics

    1. You can probably fit 3-4 people on each one comfortably. We've never had strangers climb into it, but that's always possible. There are two hot tubs on the dream in rainforest... a few more scattered around the ship.

Saunas can be done as a couple. They are in the same big room as the showers. Separated by temperature... warm, warmer. Warmest. (Don't remember the numbers) only one of them has a window outside which tends to make it more crowded.. would suggest one of the other two if you want to be more secluded.

There's some YouTube videos with walkthroughs of the rainforest room on the dream. If it helps get a picture of what I described

We did the pass for length of the cruise. Varies based on length of your trip. I would do that (slight discount compared to per day rate).

They also have heated marble chairs... after a dip in the sauna. I dried off a few times on it, and ended up falling asleep (there are around 8-10 chairs I think).

Couple of times, my wife went back to the room to get ready for dinner, then came back to wake me up :)

  4. My wife and I are going on a cruise next year from NYC to canaveral and castaway cay... does anyone know how the day st canaveral works? Are there a lot of shuttle busses to Disney world?

My wife is suggesting we get a rental car for the day(we did it last time we sailed but it was out of canaveral) can we drop off the car off hours and uber or lyft back to the port?

  5. A grocery store near our place sells Disney gift cards. When you spend 100 bucks, you get 10 cents off a gallon. So 100 bucks in gift cards to pay for a cruise means cheaper gas..

I know there are other things like this. Was wondering if anyone has done it, and are there any other deals that are better?

  6. Half of the reason we went on a cruise for our honeymoon was to disconnect from everything... we signed up for the free 50 Mb in case we needed it (our dog was boarded back in MA)... otherwise, we just connected to the wifi to msg each other using the Disney app, or the wave phones

Addmitably though, I left my phone in the room, while the wife brought it to port to take pictures...

  7. If you are worried about not getting into port to park, prepay would work: not sure if it's any cheaper to prepay to park at the terminal.

The other option, if you take a rental car to near the terminal (my wife and I did this out of Orlando for our honeymoon cruise), you can drop it off near the port - (Alamo, enterprise, and national share a building about 10 min away)

When we were comparing costs of the Disney bus to a rental,, it is a little bit cheaper for the 2 of us to get a rental car... they have complimentary shuttle busses from all the rental places nearby

  8. My soon to be wife and I will be on the dream for our honeymoon. We are planning on doing a couples Swedish massage during the cruise.

Assuming there are big windows in the massage room, should we do it at port, or while we're at sea? Not sure if it really matters of our heads will be facing the floor most of the time anyway.

  9. I have heard before that parasailing is one of the activities that gets canceled a lot due to winds. Does anyone know what threshold they use? I looked around and saw anywhere from 15-20 knots, but obviously if there is lightning in the area it would get cancelled even if winds were lighter

  10. I read something a little while back but haven't seen anything since then. Ezpass is/was supposed to be comparable with the Florida equivelent by October. Is this still true? My soon to be wife and I will be on our honeymoon. We are Taking a rental car. But I can bring my ezpass from ny with me for the tolls.
