When does EZair actually book the tickets? We are going to Italy in July and booked ITA via EZAir but are prevented from choosing seats or modifying the booking.

EDIT: Looks like 45-30 days prior. Is there any risk of not being able to get the reserved flight?

We had the same issue not being able to see and reserve the ITA seats on a flight back from Rome to Seattle in early August this year after booking with EZ Air.  Flights were from Rome to NYC on ITA and NYC to Seattle on Delta.  I could go into Delta under My Trips and reserve the seats but not do anything with ITA.  By chance I happened to talk to a Princess Rep that said you can ask Princess to "ticket" your flight now but you will not be able to make any changes to those flights going forward. You can go into Princess.com under your booking and go into the Travel/Flights section and ask Princess to "Ticket" your flights now.  It will take about 3 days (we were told) for the airlines to update and show your flight is ticketed.  Did it on Friday and on Monday was able to get into the ITA flight and choose seats.  Sleeping a little better knowing what seats we actually do have instead of worrying there won't be seats when we show up at the airport.

Here’s where the dry dock theory seems implausible. Dry docks are booked years in advance. They don’t suddenly decide to add four more days to them at the last minute. People on the ship are saying its COVID related and I have no doubt that is true.

If you don't believe it is going to dry dock in Portland, watch marinetraffic.com and you can see where it goes when it leaves SF.  Showing it sitting in SF right now.

Really?  Wow!  Portland isn't a major seaport, kind of a strange place for a drydock, you'd think there was some place closer?

Of course they wouldn't stay onboard, you really think I thought that?

Portland has the largest floating dry dock in North America and has over 20 years of cruise ship repairs and refurbishment and the ships travel up the Columbia River about 75 nautical miles. Many cruise lines bring their ships to Portland when they are on the West Coast.

We’re somewhat in the same situation. The earliest we can test is the day we fly into Seattle, since we had planned to explore the city for three days before the cruise. Now Im trying to find somewhere in Seattle to get tested and so far, can’t find anywhere we can get a rapid test at any price.

An interesting side note, my DH got the notification from Princess, but I did not. If I didn’t monitor these boards or was cruising solo, I’d never know about the new requirement by Princess. And I'm completely in the green lane on the Medallion Class app., with the only thing left is to confirm my status 24 hours before boarding. So I’d be SOL. I may still be SOL!

Try Carbon Health in Seattle.  They have several locations and it is easy to book an appointment.  They had set up a testing site at the Portland Airport earlier this spring and we used them for getting a test before flying to Hawaii.  Easy to set up appointment and easy to get a test with fast results.  We live in a rural area with no quick testing so will probably drive to Portland Airport and use Carbon Healthy again on the Thursday before our cruise that leaves on Sunday, 9/12.  Good Luck!

  5. Finally, money is back in our credit card account.

We cancelled the March 21st cruise (Caribbean Princess, 14 days) on March 10th, one day before Princess started cancellations.  Since we cancelled the day before Princess started cancelling, the Princess insurance kicked in and we were refunded the next day for most of the airfare and taxes and port fees.  The following day we got the money back for excursions we had paid for. When Princess announced the cancellations, we initially chose Option 1 and a week later decided Option 2 made more sense as we had a lot of money sitting out there as we had upgraded to a Suite.  Last week I suddenly noticed the future cruise deposit suddenly showed up on the Personalize Page and yesterday the balance of our cruise fare was on our credit card and this afternoon 100% of our fare shows as a future cruise credit on our Personalizer Page.

It does look and sound like Princess is finally starting to get refunds processed, but it has been a long wait.  Good Luck to everyone.

  6. Yes.  Cruise date was March 21st.  We cancelled on March 10th the day before Princess cancelled.  The next day we received back airfare and taxes/port fees onto credit card.  The following day received back all funds for excursions.

Filed Option 1 and a week later changed our minds and filed for Option 2.  Last week, suddenly our future cruise deposit showed back up on the Princess page.  On Tuesday, our full remaining amount due for the cruise fare paid showed up on credit card and this afternoon our future cruise credit, which is 100% of our cruise fare showed up on Princess site.

There is hope. Hang in there.

  7. I called yesterday to cancel our 3/21 Caribbean Princess.  My biggest concern being that if someone (passenger or crew member) came down sick on the cruise we would ALL be quarantined for another 14 days on some military base somewhere.  Not fear of the virus but fear of the government quarantining sick and non sick passengers. I had tried Monday afternoon but after a 20+ minute wait, I hung up.  Yesterday I was connected to a representative within 5 minutes.  A kind, compassionate employee who answered all my questions, ran through all the numbers of what I would be getting back as a credit to my credit card and as a future cruise credit. I could tell she was working from home as her young child was in the background.  She said she had worked Saturday, Sunday and Monday and the calls were extremely heavy and Tuesday was much lighter.  She said how bad she felt that when people were calling to ask if their cruise would be cancelled, she was unable to tell them as she just didn't know.  Princess has some wonderful employees, who are working long hours and we look forward to our next cruise whenever that may be.

  8. The sea gulls in Barcelona loved them. We had an aft owners suite and decided they really weren't very good, so sat out on our balcony before sailaway and we made the seagulls very happy with our complimentary canapés. Unfortunately we had put one on the balcony railing to make it easier for the seagulls and the seagull knocked it onto the balcony and came down to get it. I didn't realize that a seagull can't go up to fly away, but needs basically a long straight stretch to get air to fly away. Silly seagull kept pecking at the plexiglass until I finally cornered him and lifted him up to fly away. He went home with some cream cheese on his beak and had to explain where that came from - we were a little worried he was going to Cartagena with us.

  9. Just used the very last of my eucalyptus body lotion from my last cruise. It was more than three years old, but still smelled good, and smelled like Princess to me. I will really miss it now that its gone, and cannot be replaced. Funny how we associate "things".

HI Stoneharborlady - if you send me an email at nancymax5@yahoo.com I will send you my bottles of the eucalyptus body lotion and I also have some of the shampoo and conditioner that I had saved. I don't use them as I am more of a Philosophy Amazing Grace lotion person, but always save those bottles from the room. They are just gathering dust under my bathroom sink so would be happy to give them to you since it sounds like you will truly enjoy them. Nancy

  10. We will be on the Royal Princess and disembarking in Rome in early June. Am figuring out transportation from the Port to our Hotel in Rome and noticed that Princess does transfers to the "City Center". Does anyone have any idea of where you be dropped off in the City Center. I'm assuming it would be easy to get a taxi from there to our hotel. We've been to Rome before and just trying to decide the easiest way to get to our Hotel after the cruise. It may work out better to share a ride with someone from our roll call but thought I would put the question out.

    Thanks for your help.

  11. We stayed in L222 on the Regal and L221 on the Royal, most recently on the British Isles cruise in August and one morning we heard a few chairs being moved around - that was all we heard during the 10 day cruise. Wouldn't hesitate with your cabin choice. Very doubtful you will be disturbed by any sounds. Have a fun cruise, we loved the Royal.

  12. What was playing in MUTS over the last couple of cruises?

MUTS had The Rewrite, Woman In Gold, Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, McFarland USA, The Imitation Game, The Longest Ride, Cinderella, The Age of Adaline and a few others.

The TV in your stateroom has an incredible amount of new movies available for watching and the day following the MUTS movie those movies will show up on the TV - so if you miss MUTS (as it is too cold to sit outside) you can always watch them on your TV in your stateroom. We always catch up on all the movies we haven't seen and have movie marathons on the sea days !!! The new TV system on the Royal and Regal are great! Just one more reason I really enjoy these two ships - hopefully all of the Princess ships will be updated to match the new ships.

  13. We were on the August 1st sailing and had a great time. It seemed that by the end of our cruise the norovirus had pretty much disappeared as on the last evening the Captain finally said he was happy to announce good results from all of the cleaning and hand washing. I think we were kept in Code Red to ensure a "clean" cruise for the next sailing. There are no postings showing up from the current cruise indicating any problems, so even though we experienced a little inconvenience on our cruise - happy it has not carried over to the current cruise.

We had amazingly great weather with lots of sunshine in various ports and the only day where we actually used our rain jackets were for some showers that lasted for 5 minutes one afternoon. Yes, it was cooler weather than we are used to, but we are in the British Isles and it was expected - so we packed warmly. We attended the Military Tattoo in Edinburgh on Friday, the opening night, and what a perfect evening with clear skies. Temperatures in England are certainly not what we experience here in Oregon/Washington for the summers but it didn't stop people from using the pool and enjoying the Lido deck - I was surprised at how many people were outside as I felt it was a little too cool for me.....but obviously not to others. I actually got a chuckle out of how many people wore shorts as I certainly didn't pack shorts for this trip.

We love the Royal Princess and considering the number of passengers it never felt crowded - unless tendering - which is always crowded no matter what ship you are sailing. The Royal and Regal are definitely our favorites and we look forward to sailing on them again. In fact, already have our next cruise booked for next August on the Royal.

Enjoy your cruise, you will have a wonderful time. Check out Alfredo's just off the Piazza and the International Cafe always has wonderful items, fresh and delicious. You will have a great cruise !!!

  14. Hi All

Ocean Princess in Dublin Royal Princess going to Liverpool according to marine traffic

    Yours Shogun

We are skipping Dublin and headed to Liverpool for an overnight stay and will leave Liverpool tomorrow at 6 pm. The Captain says we should be docked at 4 pm today in Liverpool. I guess they made the decision at 3 am this morning due to wind conditions then and what was predicted during the day. Apparently the Royal has to go into Dublin backwards for 6 miles as she is too large to turn around once inside the channel so onto Liverpool instead .....

It is what it is, so just have to enjoy the sea day and look forward to the overnight in Liverpool.

  15. We got that 5:30 arrival email before leaving the hotel. So we're enjoying our afternoon in the Marriott Lobby on the comfy couches and the flat screen tv planning on watching the Seahawks at 3:30 (Houston time). Have no idea what time the ship will leave tonight and wondering if our Cozumel stop will happen or not. Oh we'll it's vacation time so can't complain too much. Just glad we are not at the terminal for 5 hours because we didn't get the Urgent update - there will be some unhappy people for sure.
