We did it summer before last and it was AMAZING! It's a long, packed day, but worth it. We booked through the ship because we knew it was a very, very long excursion with potential for delays since it went to several places--and quite a distance, not to mention a bus and the cruising the Amalfi part. We wanted to ensure we wouldn't be left behind. And our tour was the very, very last to get back on the ship and it was past 'all aboard' by about 20 minutes, so we made the right choice.
Any kids on board? Is it manageable with them if we just pack properly. Hoping the downtime travelling two and for will be chill time for our kids.

Can anyone recommend a budget friendly trip insurance company? Just need trip cancellation and interruption for flights, hotels and excursions = $10K 2 adult 2 kids ( already bought insurance for cruise portion). Getting quoted $900 which Is way more than I want to spend. Husband and I both have medical travel insurance thru work plus our visa. Any suggestions or is this the usual cost?

Look on youtube for video. There is definitely video on the Akrotini tour.
I had planned to take the Oia on your own tour but it was sold out. Like you, I was using the tour as a means to avoid the cable car going up. So if that's your plan, don't wait too long !
We had a 2 hr wait for the cable car going up, but there was NO line on the way down. Look carefully at the departing times of the other ships to help gauge the best time for you to return to the tender.
What time did you go down on the cable car?

Not having much luck finding out if there is a ferry/water taxi/ boat to take you from Oia BACK to Fira Old Port. I see plenty going there but have read none on the way back? How is that possible?
Any recommendations would be helpful!

Booked our first cruise on Voyager of the seas, 7 nights in Europe. We have an inner cabin, so 2 pullman beds. Does the cruises ever have trundles in the cabin or could we put the mattress on the floor? With younger kids the bunks wont work great and we are used to sharing our beds when needed anyways. What are our options for configuration here?

Looking at two Mediterranean cruises. One week. Choices are Royal Caribbean, Voyager of the Seas or the new Sun Princess. Which one will have the most entertainment and activities for a 6 and 9 year old?

Was asking about the excursion. Thank you for your input, very helpful. I find the RC excursion descriptions very vague.
