Why do you say it's not an option? One person can claim being scammed, when it may have been a schedule mistake, or a problem on their side. Many of us, including myself, have used Onpoint with no issues at all (family of three handled easily in 15 min).. no reason to call it a scam.
I really think nothing is changing for cruises that are fully booked. I have also heard of problems with Onpoint so we are booking a test in London.

Isn't that only for sailings out of the UK though? Your comment could be misconstrued to mean all of Princess.
Yes, Sorry, it does appear to be UK sailings. The cruises seem to be to everywhere in EU except Greece.

Good Lord, what's the point of that? If they're going to do that, just end testing and be done with it.
And where did you see this announcement?Princess web site and here on the Princess forum. It is common knowledge now.

No matter how many times people are warned to not book with EZAir they continue to do it. I just can't figure it out. Always book your own flights directly with the airline to arrive AT LEAST the day before your cruise. So simple!

Document of Recovery question….will my positive test result from CVS be enough documentation or do I need a note from a doc?
Thanks!
The test is enough per Carnival web site.

We did Onpoint testing with our free covid tests from the government. It was suuuper easy. Totally recommend!
Princess just made a announcement that proctered test is no longer required but you still need a negative test. Now you just need to attest that you have taken a test within 3 days and it was negative.

Does the iHealth COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test i tests expire? – Wyze

For people that have used the OnPoint (bring your own test kit) proctored test, I have a odd question. I have some covid tests which expire soon and would be expired by 2 days for the date when i need to take them for our upcoming cruise. I'd think the actual test would likely still be fine with only two days past the date but was wondering, for people that have used this service, is this something they are likely to ask to see on the box (or care about). I can buy fresh ones but prefer to not waste em if possible. It says to provide a unopened box so I'm not sure if that means they are really having you show it all over to em on the camera.
It's our first time using one of these services.. sadly Walgreens seems to no longer offer the antigen testing in our area.
The dates on those tests have been extended 3 months.

There appears to be a real problem in this country with reading comprehension.

So, are you getting tested? We're also on the Aug 11 sailing and wondering what to do.... I'm thinking of just not disembarking in Bermuda to avoid the whole thing.
Be careful they could deny you boarding if the cruise goes to Bermuda and you don't test. What a PIA this whole thing is.

Just to specify for others - this was for this specific cruise only.
I boarded the June 19th cruise - we left London via train at 9:40 am (Charing Cross Station). Arrived at Dover Priory at approximately 11:30 am.
Found a cab just outside for the fixed 8 euro price to the port. Dropped off at the port at approximately 11:45 am.
Walked in the terminal and saw many CSR's waiving their paddles at us to get us checked in.
Had a snafu with Verifly but the check-in was still roughly 10 minutes. Walked as fast as we could to the ship check-in "ding" handheld.
Piece of cake experience for us.
Did you pay the cab in Euros? Are you sure it was Euros?

I saw that. I only did a quick read, but I thought the fact they were giving people advice about what to do if their cruise line does not have a testing requirement was telling. It would seem to indicate that they contemplate cruise lines dropping the testing within the new guidelines. Interesting to see what the Big Three make of this.
I also found it interesting that they defined fully up-to-date as requiring all shots and booster that you were eligible for. This is a slight change from the prior wording and would seem to indicate that if you could have had both boosters but chose only one you might not be up to date. Not sure what the up to date requirement might apply to if a cruise line does away with Testing, but I thought it was interesting, nevertheless.
I am not going to go back and read the guidance in depth because the only real interpretation that matters is what cruise lines decide it means and how they develop protocols within that guidance. I would think that would happen pretty quickly this coming week.Richard
We are still waiting. I am worried there will be no change. At least now they can't blame the CDC.

We have cruisers actively seeking out information that are confused. How is Carnival going to handle say 100 passengers that saw the CDC announcement and forgo testing? Are they going to reject that many passengers?
They will check them at the Port.

Hello All: Think I read on MSN today Carnival doing away with Covid testing pre cruising?, Haven't seen anything on John Heald's Facebook page so not sure if this is true or not or if I read it wrong. Sailing on the Carnival Legend 9/3/22 out of Baltimore. Thanks
May I have the link on MSN please. I can't find what you are talking about.

So what did it say about precruise testing?

Agree. The only one I remember is John Heald because He was on our first cruise on the Magic way back in the 2nd cruise for that ship. We had him 3 other times on other cruises which showed his jokes were always the same. lol

Guests must present an original vaccination record issued by the country's health authority (i.e., U.S. CDC's Vaccination Record Card). A digital COVID-19 Certificate (QR code), a record of COVID-19 vaccination from a healthcare provider (original digital email), and a personal electronic health record or government Immunization Information System record is also acceptable. Copies or photos are not accepted.
- The name and birth date on the vaccination record must match the guest's travel documents.
- The vaccination dates must indicate the guest has completed the required doses no later than 14 days prior to the sailing date (not including embarkation day). Vaccine type, dates administered, and lot numbers must be clearly visible. When required, booster dose must also be reflected on vaccination records.

This still didn't answer the question whether the booster needs to be minimal 14 days prior to the cruise nor a mention of a 2nd booster.
Good Lord. Read. It is in the last paragraph posted by Bafinegan 3 posts up from here. YES must be at least 14 days.

I'm sure this has been asked before, but we need an answer ASAP so I can't go dig in the files.
Friends of ours are sailing with us next week and don't have a booster shot.
They want to go get it tomorrow so they can test 3 days before the cruise.
Is there a specific cut off for the booster (like the 14 days max for the 2 first shots)?
Will the booster make them test positive??
The Booster will not make them test positive. I think I read today on the Carnival web site on Health Protocols that it has to be at least 14 day before you cruise. It is definitely on the Carnival web site.

Just wondering where that Panama canal cruise was from and to if it wasn't a round trip.
We did a Panama Canal Cruise from Ft Lauderdale to Vancouver. You could also go Ft Lauderdale to San Francisco or Los Angeles.
