Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/20)

  1. Clearly you missed my point. There are MANY offensive smells on cruise ships that bother many people for different reasons but not all of them can be totally eliminated.
  2. I have been cruising for over 20 years (12 times with Holland America). I have a husband who smokes. I do not. I'm sure as generations come and go there will be no smoking but the fact is, in the 1960's everyone smoked. And not everyone has been able to quit. If the non smokers had their way, I would never be able to cruise again, or I could if I left my husband at home...not happening. Holland America's policy seems fair and I have never smelled smoke on a balcony. As for Casino smoke...you really don't have to pass through it. There are many ways to get around a ship. It's also not necessary for smokers to walk out the Sea View deck door on the smoking side so that they can make an issue of the smoke smell, waving their hands and complaining. The sheltered (usually port side?) is non smoking with its own entrance. Now shall we talk about perfume? THAT's something that should be banned. Perfume is hugely offensive to most migraine/cluster sufferers yet I continue to have women on cruise ships knock me flat the with the massive dousing of perfume they have undertaken. If we had to solve everything to everyone's like, there would probably be no cruising and what a shame that would be. We can all agree to disagree, I guess.
