  1. Aloha!

Has anyone recently used the Hilo Hoppa on/off bus tour?

Back in the day, Hillo Hatties had a bus that picked up from the pier and return with only a visit to the shopping plaza where the store was located. Are there any free shopping shuttles still?

Does the Hoppa On Hoppa Off  bus pick you up and drop you off at the pier itself.?

I couldn't find any info on the site about this.

The calendar did show that there were buses on cruise ship days. Hope that is still the case.

    Mahalo

  2. Hello everyone,

I hope someone can give me recent information on internet package choices on Brilliance of the Seas.

I am booked in a Grand Suite to Alaska and am seeing on this site information that a WIFI package is sometimes included.

Also, when I look into the available plan and buy ahead options, there is no option.  Only the VOOM Surf and Stream package is available. I want only the basic and cheapest package.

    Thank you, all.

  3. Am curious to know if Brilliance of the Sea  would provide a fresh bouquet of flowers in the suites. Or even if the Crown and Anchor recognizes loyalty levels with flowers in the room?  Could be an allergy issue?

Saw there was bottled water and a fruit bowl.

Looked at the Gift Shop online for purchases, no flowers to be had.

I remember at one point seeing a flower cart onboard various ships for last minute corsages and boutonnieres on formal night!

Have been known to come equipped with my own vase and flowers.

This is a biggie for me.

Thanks for all and any info.

Am currently on the Solstice and I'd say just from memory of a quick perusal.... maybe 75 books? But it is bordering the open air atrium and can frequently hear the atrium bands/dj as well as the card game room right below. So I dunno how relaxing that is for reading.

Yikes, I remember when the library also had writing desks and a 'librarian' (staff member (from entertainment or ?  taking on another role ) who  would sign your book out. Probably Celebrity Century class ships... sigh.

We were on this cruise, and saw a table outside the disembarkation door with many confiscated items on it.  There was a full size toaster, an electric cooking pot, extension cords and several other items.  When we boarded, security noticed the 6 foot long iPad charging cables in our carry on, and asked us to open it so they could look at the cables.  Once they saw it they were just charging cables, they let us through with them.

    Power bars are a no-no.

  6. Hi Everyone,

Has anyone done a to or from Hawaii cruise lately?

Hoping that there are ambassadors onboard who oversee activities in the Hawaiian culture (hula, ukulele lessons, etc.).

    Thanks.

  7. Hi Everyone,

In the past, there have been passenger choirs on trips that were longer with many sea days and  rehearsals were part of the entertainment program. We were lucky to have the music director Simon take this on. When the a capella groups were popular, one group even coordinated the choreography to Salve Regina from Sister Act. The entertainment staff have also organized this activity as well.

Does anyone know if these have started up again or have been discontinued?

  8. One poster mentioned the wine room in Murano. How many does that room seat and how do you arrange for that? Based on availability? Traveling with a group in November, that sounds nice!

Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app

We have eaten with 2 officers and as I recall 2 other couples in the Wine Room for a total of 8.

Those wine bottles are not for decoration!:D There is a lot of staff coming in and selecting wines and the 'traffic' might interfere with your dining pleasure.

  9. We came off Silhouette a couple of weeks back and noticed the absence of the production staff's involvement with dance lessons. There were no dance lessons (typically in Sky Lounge and of a traditional nature) to be had. Also, this is the first time in many years that there was no backstage tour offered to the Elite Plus returning guests.

Is this the trend fleet-wide or just a rare occurrence?

  10. Yes, we have cruised as well with the group that was on board Silhouette last year in the Caribbean. I believe they are called ETA Motorcycle Cruises. Had no idea this was existence.

The one bike that made my heart skip a beat was a three wheeler and in pink. Almost made a life changing decision at that point in time after an interesting information session with one of the members at the buffet.

The group was (hope I am using the correct term) marshaled off and on the ship. What a kick to see that many bikes outside Senor Frog's at one of the ports.

  11. It was suggested that I try Who's On Board? to answer my question.

Last March/April we were on Solstice and there were many Tribute Bands as entertainment.....Beatles, ABBA, Elton John (excellent!) and Jersey Boys.

Am wondering if this is the route that Celebrity is taking nowadays as far as guest performers on their ships?

Thank you in advance for your info.

  12. We were on Solstice this past March/April and really enjoyed the Tribute Bands (Beatles, ABBA, Elton John, Jersey Boys).

We are on Silhouette next and hope the entertainment will be similar.

    Anyone have recent info?

    Thanks.

  13. Can anyone tell me about the $25 bottles of wine that are for sale in the bar at the Ocean View Cafe?

Noticed these on the Solstice last cruise, and should have done some investigating. Bottles were on display at the bar with a sign.

Can these bottles be bought, stock piled and taken to the MDR?

    Thanks.

  14. We sailed from Hawaii to Vancouver last year (2015) on Solstice.

There was a troupe of Hawaiian ambassadors on board. This trio (2 gals and a fellow - maybe in their 20's or 30's) were exceptional. I have sailed with June a couple of times as well and enjoyed her sessions. This group reminded me of sailing on American Hawaii Cruises which had more of a spiritual twist (kumu priest on board). There was always a prayer/chant before the lessons.

Hopefully Celebrity is keeping this kind of activity alive and well.

    Aloha.

  15. We are planning a Back to Back cruise and trying to recall the extras that Celebrity does for those guests.

A couple of years back, the guests were given a reception (The Porch on Sillhouette) and there was a monetary reduction on the second cruise ($100?) but I am trying to remember if there was an excursion on the turn around day.

    Anyone have any recent input?

    Thanks.

  16. Thought I had this all figured out, however, on the TA from Southampton to Miami (Eclipse) last month, the left side menu in the MDR varied.

There was Irish Stew and Fish and Chips on several nights with the usual every day entrees (salmon, chicken breast, etc) not listed. Thought that this part of the menu should be posted by the front doors of MDR so people could see what all the options were. I am guessing this menu is to appeal to the Brits-just as having a tray with a tea kettle in the cabin to make your own beverage.

My question - What other areas does Celebrity sail where they present regional food on the everyday menu in MDR for the entire cruise?
