  1. I got the email too...total tone deafness by Regent. To offer a 25% FCC at this point is an insult, especially when they "force" you to choose between your very significant cruise fare or the potential of being put in harm's way. With a dearth of ports on the itinerary its a pretty expensive way to watch water pass by....They should have canceled the cruise at the outset and offered full refunds or 100% FCC...full stop. There must be a lot of unhappy people associated with this cruise. By the way did you get to Gythion? Thanks for the update!
  2. Travel-or. Thank you for the link...I follow him as well and find him to be very knowledgeable and reasonable. Many are in the same "boat" and that is unfortunate...in their quests for short term profits many cruise lines follow the strict "legal form" arguments but do not consider "economic substance" considerations of the transaction like their guest perspectives and their top priority being safety and well being of their guests...words ring hollow. Labonnevie please keep us informed on the cruise. It would be interesting to know how you and your fellow passengers' moods are. Wishing you all a safe journey!
  3. I am new to this board but I am interested on how this cruise manifests. My wife and I were booked on this cruise but canceled on 11/1 due to the horrific events occurring in the region. The fact that 71%+ of the ports of call days were changed, eliminated, or reduced, not including the canceled overland programs, was a major factor, but most importantly the real concern for our safety was paramount in our decision. With a world-wide travel advisory issued by the US State department, the fact that US warships are building up along the itinerary and the fact that the Houthis in Yemen have fired drones, cruise and ballistic missiles across the Red Sea is a major concern. Just this past week a US surveillance drone was shot out of the sky over the Red Sea by the Houthis off the coast of Yemen. The fact that Regent seems to ignore these facts and continues this cruise itinerary through these hostilities is really egregious. Starting at the Suez Canal until the ship gets to Dubai no one on board will be able to relax and enjoy the "unrivaled Regent experience". It's like give up your fare or travel under duress. Of course you will get a $500 OBC and doubling of your Seven Seas Society nights...pathetic!
