  1. I have a 4pm departure after our Harmony cruise in May. Looking at various options to kill some time and ran across this excursion. After reading the details, it doesnt sound like you have access to anything at all at the Margaritaville resort. The only thing it actually said was that the bus storing your luggage will be parked NEAR the Margaritaville resort. (REALLY?) So for $80.00 bucks per adult you get the privilege of swimming at Hollywood beach and use public showers to clean up and maybe walk along the broadwalk and/or shop or eat lunch (at your own expense)....all things you could do for free... or rent a car and do much cheaper...that is one damn expensive trip to the airport...How can they even use the Margaritaville name in an excursion that it has no affiliation with?...Am I missing something? Has anyone actually done this excursion?

  2. Have only been on Oasis and remember the ice cream parlor on the boardwalk ( for a fee) We will be on Harmony soon in May... kids inquiring minds want to know...where are the self serve (soft serve) ice cream machines on the ship ..I assume maybe windjammer...? other locations as well? I didn't see the ice cream parlor listed on Harmony Boardwalk I think Starbucks is in that location? Is there a for fee ice cream parlor? thank you .

  3. We booked the SXM Island Rout II - 9 am to 2:30 pm. It says that we'll go to Iguana farm, the french and dutch border, Oyster pond over looking the island of St. Barths, Orient beach to swim and eat, Marigot to shop, Maho beach to see the planes, drive t hrough Simpson Bay Marina and to Harold Jack HIll for a view of Simpson Marina, Airport and Anguilla.

Has anybody done a tourn with Bernard's tours? If so, is it worth it? I put $20pp deposit down, but i just wanted to make sure not to waste a day vs $80. ;p

    Thank you in advance!!!

Have toured with Bernard twice in 2009 and 2015 he and his guides are awesome you can't go wrong

  4. We had 9721 and 9729 on Oasis and loved them....we have 8321 and 8325 booked on Harmony in May...I am hearing that the very last rooms (most popular) some views especially on deck 10 are blocked by the slides that are now on the boardwalk for harmony but not the others...dont exactly want to open by balcony and look smack into the side of a slide...our friends on the oasis were way down at the entrance to the boardwalk on deck 9... 9695 and they couldnt see much...but nice room close to central park...just down the stairs one deck...

  5. We were on Oasis in 2015 and had 2 balcony rooms 9729 and 9721 for my sons' spring break trip...these were great rooms as the boys had the very last one with great view of water and aqua theater.....also high demand rooms..we will be on Harmony of the seas in May again with 2 boardwalk balcony rooms. 8321 and 8325....I now see that 10327 and 10329 are currently available. I am hearing that these formally coveted rooms are now obstructed view because of the slides on the boardwalk...How bad is the view blocked?...are some decks worse than others?....is aft or starboard any different or just mirror opposites?...we really enjoyed the rooms on oasis...will we be disappointed in the ones on Harmony?...should we keep what we have..or consider changing...deck 10 was the most popular on our oasis cruise...advice or photos of affected rooms would be appreciated...thank you!

  6. To those familiar with FLL.

Staying Friday before our cruise at the Embassy suites.

Looking at some of the restuarants and see that BIMINI Boatyard is in walking distance to the hotel.

Is this restuarant a good choice?

We want to enjoy good seafood, but not looking for the five star experience. We are casual people however want more than just ripping apart crab legs.

Looking at something like-surf and turf, or shrimp alfredo.

-Any suggestions for a nice restuarant with in walking distance or even one that is on the water taxi route?

    -Also should we make reservations?

    Thanks

Have you looked at 15th street Fisheries..it is about a 15-20 min casual walk from Embassy suites go up Cordova to 15th street, go right and take it down to the end. www.15streetfisheries.com

  7. I think my friend ended up going with Rodeway express. Whatever! I hope she doesn't ask me for advice again! Anyway, now I have a cruise booked for out of FLL so I have taken into consternation what you all have said. My son on the other hand has a discount through Marriott so, sometimes that might help out. I am looking at (I think) Marriott Harbor Beach Resort. I still like the hotels I asked about earlier if the Marriott doesn't work out. It is still way too early to check out prices for me. My dates are Dec 2016.

    Thanks!

Marriott Harbor Beach is great!...If you dont want to go that fancy there is Courtyard Marriott which is casual but in a great location...also Marriott Beach Place towers is Marriott Time shares that you can stay if they are not full..we are Marriott Platinum Elite level ..and have stayed at all three places...for a one night stay I would stay at the Courtyard because of location and price..Beach Place is just as close to Las Olas but pricier...

If you are thinking Hiltons...right between the two you are considering is The Hilton Ft. Lauderdale Beach Resort..we just stayed there in April for three nights before our cruise on the Oasis for my son's spring break..we had a 2 queen 1 bedroom suite and it was great...this is a very nice resort...compares to the Marriott Harbor Beach...all that I mentioned are Beach front properties

  8. I noticed it was showing in the cruise planner for our August 2015 sailing on the Oasis. But absolutely no times available to book. I'm wondering if you can only book it on board.

I was on Oasis last week...Izumi sushi only was open for lunch hours...11:00-1:30 I think...just walk-in...Hibachi area only open for dinner hours 5:30-9:30...reservations were available online...but only closer to cruise date...also can book on board....

  9. Can I ask when schools have Spring Break in 2016? We are from Canada so was only looking at avoiding our March Break and Easter weekend (end of March next year)....didn't realize that US schools have different spring breaks which could go into April.

As for prices, you can book for March and April 2016, and also compare to other times of the year to see the cost of various Allure cruises.

In the U.S. most school grades K-12 Spring break is usually Easter Week and that date varies...colleges can run their Spring Break from Mid Feb. thru to the end of March..I am going on the Oasis this spring break with my high school senior ( he also turns 18 the week before we go) and I expect mainly families with all ages of kids...based on what I am paying for this trip...if college kids can afford this trip without traveling with their family...they are doing way better than I was in college...lol...I would not worry about a week long cruise...just expect a full ship ..

  10. I am traveling with my husband and three high school boys on my upcoming cruise..so no one really cares about this question but me...I want to know if the hairdryers on Oasis are decent enough strength to blow dry my hair

(medium length) without it taking forever or should I plan to bring my own...are they located in the desk area or in the bathroom area..portable or attached...I have had all sorts of hairdryers on past cruises from really good ones..to ones that were awful, weak and looked like a vacuum hose... hoping since this is a newly refurbished ship they will be decent...thanks in advance

  11. My upcoming cruise on Oasis will be my third spring break Easter week cruise. If you are looking at a week long cruise it will be mostly families. Yes there will be a lot of teens and children because that is their school break....You will probably not find a lot of college students on the longer cruise....they tend toward the 3-5 day trips unless they are on a family trip....the other two cruises during spring break were on carnival and people tend to think carnival is overrun with drunk parties....both cruises were fine...I don't think most college students can afford week long cruises...the shorter and less expensive the cruise the more party people in my opinion...This time we are traveling for my son's senior trip with two of his friends...they are hoping to meet a lot of others their age while on the trip...I don't think you will have a problem with a week or longer cruise...but it will still be a full ship...

  12. Leaving on the 14th, staying in a suite, have MTD, renting cabana, no plans to get off except at Labadee, bought drink package, and will be doing the Prohibition Party. Traveling with my niece who has a three year old so might be able to answer some of those related questions, no promises.

Give me your questions and I will do my best to check out and report back. I will try to write as much a possible while onboard, but can't make any promises as I hate typing on the IPad.

We are sailing a couple of weeks after you...If you are planning to get compass copies for the week could you also get copies of the 18-20 year old activities and the teen club that covers 16 and 17 year olds...I will be traveling with 3 boys for Spring Break ages 16, 17, and 18...they would like an idea of the most current activities offered...thank you so much..

  13. For our upcoming oasis cruise we have to fly in to West Palm Beach instead of FLL .There are 5 of us. Right now I have a mini van rented and will drop it off at FLL the day before the cruise as we are coming in a couple days before. We are staying at the Hilton beach resort and then moving to Embassy suites the night before the cruise.

We are flying home out of PBI also the same day we get off the ship. Can anyone recommend a good reliable shuttle service in place of car rental....I have used SAS from FLL to Miami before and they are great but I have never flown in or out of PBI...thanks in advance..

  14. I heard that the iPod chargers on Oasis and allure were outdated and u needed to bring an adapter in order to charge newer iPods or iPhones...is this still the case since oasis has been through drydock changes?...or have they been replaced..my kids will want to charge iPods I am sure and want to bring what they need

  15. On the Oasis sailing April 4th..We are in Nassau on Easter Sunday from 7am -2pm only...Is there anything worth doing? Will most places be closed up being a Holiday?...Is it even worth getting off the ship for such an early and short port of call...( already have been to Atlantis...too short of time this time and not paying those prices again)...other suggestions welcome...for reference two adults and three teen boys 16,17, and 18...

  16. We are sailing on the Oasis in April and have 3 Boardwalk balcony rooms near the very end on deck 9 starboard including the last 9729. My question is if there is a back way with stairs to get down to the boardwalk from near our rooms or will we have to walk up to the main hallway and use those stairs and enter boardwalk from the main entrance. I thought I read that someone said there is stairs on deck 7 near the rock climbing wall but I didn't know if that applied to the other decks...especially with the aqua theater suites being there as well as the new grand suites on the higher decks..I can't tell just by looking at deck plans...It doesn't look like it...but thought I would ask anyway...thanks!!

  17. I've written a few tips based on my experiences of booking Dynamic Dining at the Royal Caribbean website on our sailing's roll call thread here. If anyone else has advice on how to beat the system's anomalies, however, I'm sure we'd all be pleased to read them.

We are a party of nine cruisers in four cabins. We all have separate confirmation numbers. Will we each have to make reservations for our dining and all try for the same time…or can one person (me) make a reservation for 9 people since we all want to sit together anyway. Or will the system know that there are only 2 people in my cabin so it will not allow me to reserve for 9? seems much easier for one person to book than try to do 4 separate reservations…can you clarify? ....also 3 of the cabins are mine..(myself and DH, in one and the other two have teens and young adults 21yrs.) the 4th cabin is another family of 3 traveling with us..if that makes a difference..

  18. If you don't plan to do a lot (if any) for fee dining..how to most of you plan to do DD on your typical 7 day cruise. I think my family is planning to rotate through each of the three restaurants twice...(Iwill be on Oasis)...do each one once and then repeat...leaving one day for specialty or Windjammer but if we decide we didn't like one of the restaurants then we have time to cancel the second round and make other plans...I think it was easier when I just had to show up for dinner and not plan ahead so much...but I hope the new restaurants are a better quality of food...

  19. Do all boardwalk balcony cabins B1 category have sofas in them even if they are marked for only two people? For example I have 3 cabins booked, two of them are triples 9729 and 9705 the other one is 9721 for only 2 people. Will 9721 still have a sofa in it in the sitting area? If it does have a sofa, can it make into a bed, if we wanted to use it or are some of the sofas non-converting?
