Sitting on my balcony in a junior suite on deck 9 having breakfast on the Adventure (we are in Nassau).

Casino sent up two bottles of wine this morning as well (watched the NFL games there last night while playing slots) we closed her down around 2:30 AM.

Ship is clean, food is the same as on every other RCL ship. MDR not to my taste so we use specialty venues. Internet is super-fast, staff is friendly. Not sure what you are hearing about Casino, my only observation is that the aisles are tight. I manage to make it through in an electric wheelchair so able-bodied folks should be able to do the same.

Would I have brought my kids on her back in the day, probably not as they would have been bored. It is just as good as any other ship for us. If it helps, we are both Masters in the casino, we are 2 cruises from pinnacle on RCL but we also travel on Disney, NCL, X and MSC and have high status on all of the other lines as well.

We get off of the adventure this week and hop on the Mariner the week after...

Kids would be bored?  We sail on Friday - and picked this based on all the things for kids, I am curious about your thoughts.  Last we sailed Celebrity, def not a kids cruise.

I was just offered one last week for a Med cruise in September.  It was $53 per day. I nabbed it!  You almost have to check every day. It was only there for a couple days. And it was called “senior savings”.

Did you see it on the app?  Or online?

In Alaska , i imagine you were paying state sales tax. Not a cruise line issue.

In the Caribbean , that does not happen.

It wasn't a state tax as it was also charged in Seattle.  We were told it was for American ports.  IDK.  We never had that happen in the Caribbean, either, but it never hurts to ask considering we are in Port Canaveral,  two US Virgin Islands and a cruise owned one.  Thank you for your thoughts and input!

  4. Last year we cruised with NCL in Alaska.  While in any American port we were charged an extra 'tax' for drinks despite having the drink package.  It was about a $1 per drink.  Does this happen on RCL?

Specifically, we are cruising out of Port Canaveral, going to Labadee, Puerto Plata, St. Thomas, St. Croix.

  5. hello - we are on Adventure of the Seas in a few weeks.  I remember several years ago when you boarded a ship you could get a mini map with all the decks on one sheet from guest services.  I have tried googling it to get one in advance but all I seem to get are individual deck floor maps.  I want one with all.  Does anyone know?  (Similar to the pictures by the elevator etc.)

Royal Caribbean ships dock mostly at Crown Bay. Emerald Beach is about 1 mile or less from that dock, so most people can walk, but it can be very hot. You can see the sidewalks and way to the beach on Google maps.

Is it a resort or a public beach?  Google is saying a resort.

  7. Amazing - thank you Ms411!  We can definitely walk 1 mile without issue.  My family doesn't like to get off the ship, lol, so I hate to pay for something all day (i.e. go to the beach by taxi) when they just want to get back on in 30 mins.  I will google map it.
