Good question.  I knew this would be an issue.  Not what we were told at all.

If I were traveling next month, I’d call my TA/CVP and see if they could help.  Probably not, but at least they could report it.

Try again after June 17th, if your cruise is after this date.  If unable, then for a SD, book it once OB, call the dine line from your cabin phone.

Hopefully, you’ve already made your MDR reservations.  Those were supposed to remain intact, if it was for a cruise prior to Sep 14, 2024.

My dining seems to be intact, both for main dining and 360 experience, but I booked ours around 2 months ago. She was trying to book for her family more recently and discovered this issue. At least everyone is having this issue and hopefully she can book it before it gets sold out.

According to their update information, you should not be affected since your traveling in August.  You should be able to book your dining NOW.
However, it seems their programming is affecting many who are trying to book MDR or SD at this time.

Let us know when you are able.

We are booked for late June on Discovery. My SIL was trying to book the 360 Experience and received a similar error. It didn't work on the app and the website tells you to go to the app to book. She called in to Princess and they told her that all dining reservations were unable to be completed until June, but they didn't give her a date in June. What are they doing with cruises leaving between now and when they fix this? This is crazy!!!

For the last year they have always fallen off.  No one will contact you on the ship.  You need to meet with a head waiter once you board the ship.  They will then take care of it.  Your food allergies will NOT be an issue on the boat.  Just meet with a head waiter.

Thanks for the information. That's disappointing. Why have it on the app if you aren't going to use it, especially with medical conditions!

I'm unfamiliar with the dining staff. Is there more than one head waiter? Do I need to meet with the head waiter at all of the venues I plan on eating at? Or will one conversation update my profile for all of the venues?

  4. Has anyone had any experience with the new App not saving your Dining Preferences? My cruise is still 89 days out, so maybe this is a timing issue. When I go into Profile and Dining Preferences, I completed the Allergens and Diet checkboxes and saved both. When I go back in, my allergens are not saved and it looks like I have no allergens or dietary preferences. Do I need to wait until closer to sailing? I'm worried that my food allergies will be an issue on the boat.

I just spent a while looking around the web version.

I couldn’t see anywhere to book any dining for any of our reservations.

Must confess, not a big web user, mainly App.

Please guide me where I can make dining reservations.

Is it hidden under a tab or something not so obvious

    Thanks

    Nancy

If you are on the app, there are cards just below the announcement of how many days until embarkation. The second card is "Book Dining". Tap there and you can book main dining room and the specialty restaurants. After you book them, to see your reservations, look under the Book Dining card again. In the upper right corner is a calendar with the heart in it tap on that to view your reservations.

  6. Hi! We are finalizing our Alaska cruise on Discovery Princess for June. This will be our 4th cruise with Princess. Our last cruise was in 2022 and we enjoyed the all of the dining options available. However, it seems that dining has changed since our last cruise. We haven't booked any of the Princess Plus or Princess Premier packages yet and would like information on what dining is included and not included without the packages. We just want to know what will be included and what will be a la cart if we chose not to purchase a package. I think the main dining rooms and the buffet is included with our regular cruise fare, but what about the other casual eateries? Specifically, I enjoyed getting sandwiches, crudite, and desserts at the International Cafe. Is that now an upcharge? What about Swirls and the grill up on the Lido deck? What about afternoon tea? Thanks!
