  1. I got a notice from my airline that my departure time just got changed.  Flight home was at 15:00, now it's 13:15.

Will this be late enough to make it through Customs, to the transfer bus and through TSA security lines to boarding ?        ( Miami Cruise port to Miami International)
    Thanks.

. . .looking for advice if this is good enough coverage.
    Thanks in advance

Probably not.  Check the fine print thoroughly and look into getting more comprehensive coverage.
A decent travel insurance package isn't that expensive, when you weigh it againt the possible price of not having it.

What on earth are the Amazon cruise essentials?

Stuff that other people think you need in order to have a cruise that isn't ruined 🙄
Google it, and you'll get 50 different responses from 50 different You Tube cruise "specialists"

Granted, some of the items are good ideas, especially if you haven't done much travelling - sea or land.
I've bought a few of them for my upcoming cruise - but they'll be just as useful on my next trip to Disney World, or a weekend in the mountains.

Many may be useful in certain circumstances, but not essential, by any means. But most (to me) seem to be in the same category as picking up junk food while grocery shopping.  Nice thought - but not enough thought went into it. You may want the 'pretty shiny' now, but you'll wonder later why you ever got that thing.

Not necessarily.  Dinner menus are posted each day in the morning.  That's how we determine if we're eating in the MDR, the buffet or somewhere else.

Thanks, peoples.  Hopefully this means I might have a chance of seeing a Day 5 menu on a 4 day cruise.  😃

They said if there was an issue that arose while on the boat or one of the islands we would be covered at in-network rates so we do not need to purchase any travel insurance for our trip.

That may be, but travel insurance is a small price to pay if something does go wrong.  Will BCBS pay the price if one of you will have to have emergency transport off the ship to a hospital that can take care of you ?  Will they pay for the needs of the non-injured person (room & board, transport...)?

Your trip is mostly free - spend a little of your own money and get good, comprehensive travel insurance.  It's FAR cheaper than the alternative. A good travel policy covers a lot more than medical.

  6. Unfortunately, I lost my luggage in a poorly-organized move.  12 years of travel on airlines, and never lost or damaged. <sigh>
Mine was black - so, since it was soft-sided, I used acrylic fabric paints and stenciled a flower & vine pattern on the front and one side of each piece.  Easy to spot, and I got compliments on them.

  7. October in New England / Eastern Canada is weird.
I've gone trick or treating with the kids in snowsuits, I've gone in shorts.

It may not be cold at all until you get further out from land.
But still most likely not all that cold.  Bring a decent jacket, and light gloves, and unless the weather is really poor, there shouldn't be any reason you can't spend time outside.

  8. Matter of opinion 🙂
I don't eat much fish, already looking at pork for at least one other meal.  I can cook coq au vin and Moroccan spiced lamb shanks myself. And I can get filet any day in the Dining Room at the residences I live in.
I rarely cook duck for myself - ever since I caught the oven on fire with one  🤣  I leave it to others these days to cook it for me.

    Oh, well.  There's always pizza. . .

  9. I'm scheduled for a cruise in November 2024, leaving from Miami.
Planning to take the free shuttle from MIA to the hotel.  I'd like to take the port shuttle from the Airport the next morning.

Is it even possible to get back to the Arrivals area so I can pick up the cruiseline shuttle there.
Or should I consider other arrangements ?

    Thanks

  10. I think so, but I've never been on that ship.I'm sure somebody can chime in with the correct info.
By 'full-service' I mean an actual Starbucks, rather than just the cafe where there's a menu, and a sign "Proudly serving Starbucks"

Do I need the actual card, or can I use the Starbucks app? I ask because I can get e-gift cards through a perk at my job, but I'd actually need to go out and buy a card.

Whether or not you can use the card and/or app depend on the ship.

Not all NCL ships have a 'full-service' Starbucks.  The ones that don't, you can't use the card -- and I'm not positive, but I don't believe you can use the app, either.

That’s fantastic. We will be at the lounge also. See you there.

    Mark and Christine.

Ummm... Have a wonderful trip.  But I won't be there.

    1) I never answered the phone, so I have no clue why I was called.
    2) My cruise isn't until November 2025.  I just booked - so far, deposit only.

  13. Actually, CoffeeMate does offer a half & half.  One of my semi-local restaurant chains uses this.
The first time I saw that in the creamer bowl on the table I was appalled -- until I took a closer look at the label 😆.
