  1. Instead of wasting any more time on this, I think I’ll do the same as MissBennet and just make purchases over the phone. Maybe Princess will fix the problem someday or I will buy an actual PC! Thanks everyone for your help.

  2. I’ve noticed this problem for several weeks. In my Cruise Personalizer, when I select onboard services, then pick, let’s say onboard credits, there is no selection to choose from (see my attached screen shot). Nothing is selectable. Not obc, beverage packages, food and beverage experiences etc. I’m using my iPad. My Wife has the same problem on her iPad. It is the same for all 4 of our pending cruises.

Has anyone else been having this issue?

  3. I decided to just cancel the package. FYI, the “Cancel” button on the Cruise Personalizer wouldn’t do anything for me, either on iOS or Windows. I had to chat with a Princess Rep and have him/her do it for me. I thought this was a humorous part of the chat though:

2023-09-02T06:18:08-07:00, agent: Let me ask, May I know the reason why you want to cancel your coffee package?
    2023-09-02T06:
18:49-07:00, Munday: The coffee package isn’t available anymore and isn't honoured on board
2023-09-02T06:20:18-07:00, agent: I see. How did you find out about it?
2023-09-02T06:20:33-07:00, Munday: Read it on many forums

2023-09-02T06:21:45-07:00, agent: Alright. Let me cancel it now. Please allow me one moment.

  4. Before it was eliminated, I bought the New Grounds Coffee Package for my DW back on Feb 1/23 for our Caribbean Princess cruise in October. It is still showing in my Cruise Personalizer under Reservations and Purchases. Does anyone have any recent real world experience with this? Is it still being honoured on board or should I just cancel it, take the refund and have my DW buy coffee A la carte?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

  5. Download the app “Cruise Shipmate” and create an account. There is a section that will keep track of past and future cruises under My Cruises. Itineraries are shown. I just looked and there are several Ocean Princess cruises listed from 2010.

  6. We used this Company for our November TA cruise, which was our travel companion’s second time using the Company. Richard picked us up at LHR and drove us to our Hotel in Kensington. A couple of days later, he picked us up at our Hotel and drove us to Southampton. He books up quickly but was very responsive through email and reasonably priced.

This is where we stayed in Kensington. Close to transportation and Kensington Palace. Walking distance to a million restaurants. Great reviews on Trip Advisor and when we booked it in Jan/22, also reasonably priced.

  7. Leaving tomorrow on Celebrity Solstice from Vancouver. We had our tests with Andrew this morning using the Government of Ontario supplied Rapid Response test kits. Andrew was on time and appreciated that we were too. We had everything unopened but ready to go in front of us. He led us step by step through the process. After the test was over, we had our negative results within 5 minutes in our inbox.

By far the best virtual testing value available to cruisers.

  8. We flew into YVR yesterday and are staying at the Blue Horizon. Cab fare was fixed rate at $34 + tip. We walked to Canada Place today to see Zuiderdam and Discovery Princess in port. We are in our 60’s and wouldn’t consider walking from the Blue Horizon to Canada Place. It’s a bit of a hike with luggage for 17 days away.

  9. Wondering if somebody has a best guess to these questions? We are Canadians on a B2B leaving Vancouver, sailing to Alaska, arriving in Seattle, then Seattle roundtrip on the second week. ArriveCAN asks date of embarkation and also date of arrival.

Is the date of arrival referring to the date we arrive home back in Canada after our cruise or perhaps our port stop in Victoria the day before Seattle on the second week? Should I maybe enter both weeks separately in ArriveCAN?

    Thanks in advance

OK...after spending an hour waiting for a post reservation customer service rep, she assured me that the sailing/embarkation day does not count as a day for testing purposes.  She pointed me to this area for Guidance on RCCL's WEB site...

How do I figure out which days I should get my pre-cruise COVID-19 test?

    A

Pre-Cruise Test Window for Guests Sailing Round-Trip from U.S. Ports, Puerto Rico, and Canada

Vaccinated guests must take their pre-cruise test no more than 2 days beforeboarding. Unvaccinated kids (11 and under) must take their pre-cruise test no more than 3 days before boarding, and cannot take their pre-cruise test on boarding day. This is because kids are also tested at the terminal before boarding – andaccording to CDC guidance, unvaccinated guests cannot be tested twice in one day as it may affect the accuracy of the test results.

Kids age 5 to 11 who have been vaccinated may present proof of full vaccination and follow the testing protocols and timeframes for vaccinated guests.

When calculating which days you can take your test, be aware that the day you set sail is not counted as one of the days.

How to calculate which days to take your test:

Vaccinated guests: If you are setting sail on a Saturday, and you need to take the test no more than 2 days before, you can take your test on Thursday or Friday. You could also take it on Saturday morning if necessary — of course, we don't recommend waiting until the last minute.

Unvaccinated kids: If you are setting sail on a Saturday, and you need to take the test no more than 3 days before, you can take your test on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday — but not Saturday. Unvaccinated guests cannot take their test on boarding day."

So, that means entering Canada from the U.S. requires a negative COVID test within 72 hours (not sooner).  RC requires a negative COVID test within 48 hours (not including date of embarkation/sailing), not before.

Still a little kludgy.  Should perhaps do a little "earliest date for COVID testing" on the reservation would alleviate a lot of this confusion.  But, hope this helps.

Those of you who have a stopover in Canada but embark in Seattle should probably check on the 72 hour window to see if that fits the Canadian requirement.

IF you’re sailing out of Vancouver (as am I), you have to have a negative COVID test no more than 2 days before embarkation.  I’m assuming that will be the same negative test I’ll have with me when I fly into Vancouver from the U.S.

    From Government of Canada website:

    Passenger obligations

    • Pre-boarding a cruise ship
      • Passengers must take a COVID-19 molecular test within 72-hours before boarding a cruise ship or take an antigen test within one day of the scheduled departure.
      • Before their cruise departs, a traveller will need to enter their trip information into the ArriveCAN website.

Government of Canada web pages say antigen test within one day of departure. Until those pages change or are supplanted I would ignore any other source for cruises departing from a Canadian port.

I agree. I just hope those passengers that see a 2 day requirement don’t end up with a denied boarding / rush to get a last minute test situation.

  13. i posted this on the Canadian Cruisers Forum as well:

Empower Clinics will operate a very expensive testing clinic out of the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel in Vancouver. I sent them an email last week. They finally answered. If you look at the link to their clinic below, Empower says within 48 hours for a Rapid Antigen Test. Royal Caribbean says we need a Rapid Antigen Test no more than 2 days prior to sailing. HAL says 1 day. The rule I read from the Government of Canada website says we need a Rapid Antigen Test within 1 day of the scheduled departure. What am I missing?

WHAT TEST IS REQUIRED TO BOARD A CRUISE SHIP OUT OF VANCOUVER AND WHEN DO I NEED TO TAKE IT?”

Transport Canada requires all cruise guests to take an antigen test within 48 hours prior to embarkation or a PCR test 72 hours prior to embarkation.

    Hi Xxxxxx,

We apologize for the delayed reply.  The appointment calendar is set to be on our webpage next week so please check back.  The cost of the various testing options is posted on our webpage under FAQs.  Here is a link to our webpage: COVID-19 TESTING | Empower Clinics

    Best regards,
