  1. I paid to upgrade to an ocean view balcony guarantee a few days ago. There was some confusion with the employee when I upgraded and she admitted she made a mistake and quoted me the incorrect upgrade price and had to check with a supervisor first. There was no mention of a suite during the phone call. Do they call ocean view balcony cabins suites now or did I possibly score a suite guarantee? image.png.a2072b6a0079167a5e66428f6be4d0f8.png

    • prepackaged snacks for port days and hangry moments.
    • inflatable pool noodles or 1 of the smaller foam pool noodles and a few beach toys. (not a necessity but we always do beach days and it makes it more fun)
    • If he can't swim yet, a puddle jumper flotation device. Less cumbersome and more comfortable for emerging swimmers than a traditional life jacket.
    • socks for adventure ocean-not necessary but the less bare skin touching the carpet in there, the better imo.
    • sweatshirt or sweater for venues/dining room that are prone to being cold.

  2. It will be a week where someone else cooks and cleans and you don't have to! We have been on Allure and Oasis several times with our son starting when he was 17 months old. Dinner has never lasted more than an hour for us in the MDR. It has been a little different each cruise, but they are usually quick to get the meals out quickly for the kids/families and they often have a fresh fruit waiting on the table before you even arrive after the first night. They always seated us at our own table and last year on Allure, they put us in a section that was all families at the surrounding tables. I'm not sure if this is a new trend or it was a fluke.

You can check in on your twins as often as you want to when they are in the kids program. We often check in to see if our son wants to stay a bit longer or wants to leave. You can even call from your cabin or a hallway phone to check in on them.

  3. We enjoyed Playa Palancar last time. Taxi from International pier was $25 each way for our family of 3. Beach is free, chairs, umbrellas, drinks and food available for reasonable rates. The beach and water were nice and it was not crowded at all when we were there.

  4. I make my own spray cleaner with rubbing alcohol, distilled water and optional essential oil. I cut up paper towels into small squares and wipe the brushes on the paper towels after I mist the brushes with the cleaner. Once every one to two weeks I clean the brushes with soap and water.

  5. We used the dinner pick up once during our cruise. We had to walk our son out to the lobby of the dining room between 650-700pm where an adventure ocean employee was waiting with a paper sign in sheet. The dining room staff did a great job expediting food service for us and other families with kids. Our son is 6, if you have any other questions let me know. We were just on Allure last month.

  6. We just visited Burwood beach last week. Taxi inside the Falmouth gate was 20/pp round trip for a 5 minute drive to the beach. Expensive but still cheaper than a ship sponsored excursion. When we arrived they charged $22 total for two adults, one 6 year old, and 2 chairs under a palapa. The beach had some trash on it. Water is very calm and shallow very far out. 5-6 feet deep out by ropes. There were 2 or 3 'vendors' smoking marijuana and asking us to buy things repeatedly but they left after you said no. There were two lifeguard stands with lifeguards on duty. At least one of them was smoking too. The entrance to the beach is gated and has an attendant. Red Stripe, bottled juice/soda, lobster, fish and chicken available. I only had a beer, we brought snacks and insulated mugs with water to the beach with us. There was only one other family from the ship there on a weekday and a few local families. Restrooms were good for Caribbean standards, showers to rinse off inside each restroom as well and attendant cleaning them. I don't think they would prohibit a beach enclosure.
