When I originally booked with Mr. IT he didn’t want to rush so I booked a 2:30 flight. I prefer to rush and get home early. It is going to be a really long day.

Well last night felt like a complete disaster. Mr. IT tried a bunch of different things but couldn’t get the garage door to stop opening on its own. We decided just to switch it over to manual.

 

Mr. IT kindly offered to get up at 3 am to load my bag in the car and get my car out of the garage. I said that is silly. I’ll just pull my car out and leave it in the driveway for the night. I head to bed thinking nothing else of it.

 

I was woken around 10 pm by this roaring sound. Our house is getting pounded by hail. It is dumping. It sounds like our windows are about to shatter. It is so loud. Mr. IT promptly reminds me where I’ve left my car. 

I believe.....  I have fixed the drunken ghosted garage door.  A 2nd manual reset and it hasn't moved without my permission in over an hour now.  All I do is fix things

Now folks have been cutting line in front of me all morning. It happened at the kiosk at the airport, when I went to hand my bag over at the airport, and again when I went to the table to get luggage tags. I just decided to roll with it. In a moment of weakness I did comment about how some people are aholes at the kiosk but they were pretty brazen about it. I’m not in a hurry and want to enjoy my time so just rolled with it outside of my one slip.

 

Remember I mentioned I was the first one stopped and told to take a seat. They weren’t exactly organized about it and folks just sat wherever. They left us sitting for about 15 minutes and the area quickly filled up. Then they started letting folks in 30 at a time from the front rows. I was probably sitting about 6 rows back.
 

At about the 30 minute point people start getting upset. They are bitching at the workers that they letting people in out of order. They’ve been there for 25 minutes and the folks they are letting in got there later. The woman explains she is doing her best. At this point she has let in the 1st 4 rows. I don’t disagree that it is being done out of order but in my mind at most it is maybe a 15 minute delay. So who cares?

 

The worker then makes the mistake of starting to let in the complainers. This caused her to jump from the 4th row to the back row. This caused an uproar including some racist comments from some folks. 
 

At this point I have to step in and point out that I’ve actually been waiting the longest and I’m managing not to complain. Everyone is going to get on and they should leave the worker alone. I don’t know what is wrong with people.

Mr. IT and I were a little deep in our cups about a month ago and decided we would book this trip. It is just a 3 day with one stop in Ensenada. I had a rationale, I could take a bunch of casino comped vacations with minimal impact to my vacation days. The risk was minimal. I can book non-refundable flights and fly in the day of. The bulk of everything I’m charged would be refunded or at least a future credit if I didn’t make the ship.

 

i confirmed the following morning with Mr. IT that we should proceed with reservations and he was a hell yes. He even bought a really weird hat with solar fans in it. He was super excited. Then the unthinkable happened he just couldn’t make the dates work. He immediately declared he would still be keeping the hat. 

 

My soon to be SOUSED SAILOR nudged me to respond to another one of her future cruising posts of a cruise that I don't get to go on. SO!!!, Here it is....

We both loved the weekend version just as much as the week long cruises, maybe even more.  I was thinking that just as I'm going to start getting into the cruise, it'll be time to disembark, but that wasn't the case, it was a great time, we didn't try to cram in a bunch of activities, just took our time and enjoyed the beach.  We did spend more $$ than normal but that was due to our last second decision of booking the cruise/flights.  I do believe another weekend cruise is in my near future and certain that it's in @Denversail's next couple of months.  

Always good to be back home in Colorful Colorado.

Do you all remember what my job was while denversail and Mr IT cruised into the sunset?   Take care of the dogs, meaning go over and let them out for a few minutes.   She has made it sound like something I am doing for her while she goes on this trip.  In actuality, it is my permanent year round job.  They both work long hours and Wolf works also so the dog's  midday break falls to me.   Wolf was off Friday and Saturday so I did get a nice break those days.   Today Wolf worked so like usual, I headed over about 10:30 to let them out.  Denversail and Mr IT will be relieved to hear that it appears Wolf is doing a very good job.   House was all picked up, no sign of dog messes, and their water bowls were full.  However it does appear that he does not let them out for as long as they would like as they were out forever and didn't want to come in.  Princess was dancing around the yard and PupPup was busy filling up on rabbit poop.   Finally they were settled inside and I left and stopped at the store on the way home.  As I was about to leave the store Wolf texts and asks if I fed the dogs?   What??   That is not in my job description and this is news to me.  He insists we had discussed it days ago ......   So back to the house I go with written instructions from Wolf on feeding.  Both dogs seemed very confused when I walked back in the door.   PupPup realized he was starving as soon as he saw he was getting dinner and gulped his food in seconds.  (if he was my dog I would get him one of those slow feeder bowls but no one ever takes my advice.)  As for Princess - there is a reason they have nicknamed her Princess.  Watching her eat is like Chinese water torture.  I followed Wolf's instructions of soaking her food in hot water but she only has two teeth in her whole mouth.  She eats one piece of kibble at a time and chews (gums) each bite for some time.  (I would have her on soft food, but once again....).   Finally she finishes but now I don't feel like I can just leave them so outside we go again.  When all is said and done, what usually takes about 15 minutes takes over an hour.  And I get to do it again tomorrow but happily no feeding involved.   There is a silver lining.  Denversail is doing a favor for us.  We head out of town Thursday morning for 6 days.   She has promised to water my plants for me.  Of course we are arguing about that.  She wants to come every other day and I want every day.   These are baby seedlings, some haven't even germinated and there are grow lights and heat mats involved.  Will my plants survive?   Will she come every day (like I do for her dogs?).  Time will tell.   

Folks, fire up the popcorn machine again.  The show will begin as soon as my salty sailor unpacks this gem.  I showed her a quick preview and all she did was shake her head and mumble oh I got something for her.

Do you by any chance have any photos of your Beach Club lunch? DH is nowhere near the beach fan that I am, but from what I’ve seen so far I think he’ll lie a big fan of the lunch! 😋

 

Did either of you go in the water, either at the pool or at the beach? I’m wondering how the water temperatures are.

@perfect match Thank you!!  Sorry, no food pics this time.  We both went into the ocean and the pool.  Both were nice, the pool was heated and wonderful.  The ocean was brisk at first but a nice cool down.  I would definitely go back especially with the tram from ship to beach and back, that saved my back and feet quite a bit allowing me to enjoy the beach even more

It was pleasant enough at first but then… the crankier of the two tried to tell the other one how to play his cards. All hell broke loose… the FU’s were flying. Mr. IT and I of course started chanting… FIGHT.. FIGHT. They just continued with the back and forth insults. One of them stormed off and the other was using a wheel chair and had no chance of making chase. It ended there. Oh well maybe next time. 🤣🤣
