I'm sure there are some unhappy passengers onboard.  As one of my favorite philosophers once said, "Haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate."

How right you are, but I do find it sad and pathetic when the reason behind the change is due to tragedy. If it were just because of the company changing cause they could (as so many do), then yes I’d whole heartedly say crack on on and be angry, but with the tragic loss of life due to (at present) mechanical failure, it just seems wrong.

  2. Just read an article (and it may be media over exaggerating), but apparently passengers are going to get angry because their drinks package has had to alter due to leaving from Norfolk instead of Baltimore.

if this is the case (and not just media hyped bull). I hope every passenger who dares to get angry or boos the staff, takes one moment to actually think and realise why this is having to happen.

the tragedy that happened with the bridge is exactly that a tragedy, people have lost their lives and families are in mourning and you’re going to kick off because you can’t get a certain drink till a little later in the journey.

I’m not saying this is going to happen, but if it does, I find that behaviour unacceptable and reprehensible.

You will find that the majority of people on these boards will not place much credence in unspecified hearsay, well meaning or otherwise.

If you elaborate, such as which cruise line and who told your mum (for example, another passenger? an Officers table at dinner?) it may get more credit, but at the minute it is just gossip.

It may well be a case that NCL are throwing their hat into the ring, and will be one of the suitors announced as interested parties -  but would seem surprising that a "done deal" would be announced while interested parties are still being invited, after which (one assumes) due diligence has to be undertaken, along with getting the banks (who own the ships) to agree the sale.

Currently on saga cruise and it was an officer who told her. So straight from the proverbial. But don’t take my word for it, you’ll see for yourself just after Easter.

  4. Its going to be announced after Easter Norwegian cruise Lines will take over Saga.

    Just for information.

Bear in mind that Saga have never owned any of their river cruise ships - they are all chartered, and nobody worries about that.

IF the ocean ships transfer ownership, it will probably work in a very similar manner - book with Saga, pay Saga, deal with Saga, travel with Saga, under Saga terms and conditions.

Actual ownership of the vessels will not have much affect.

(unless, of course, the two companies have a dispute about terms....)

(drat, wish I hadn't thought of that).
