This might be a longshot, but has anyone here gotten a tattoo on the cruise ship? If so, are there pictures?

Three of them. What are you wondering?
So you must have enjoyed it then!
How is the food is a big question for me. People vaguely say it’s good but are there more popular places or favorites?
What were your favorite excursions?
The shows look amazing, but what about the daily entertainment before the evenings?
thanks!

Thanks all! I’m tentatively planning with a TA. It’s between HAL and Virgin right now. It’s going to be in 2025 hopefully depending on budget. I am currently learning all the cruise things and dreaming.
also, for anyone interested, I took 3 wobbly steps yesterday! The first in a year!

We have done an 8 day Caribbean on the Valiant, and have the exact same sailing booked for April of next year
What kind of entertainment did you enjoy? And the food?

Has anyone done a Caribbean cruise on the Valiant Lady? It wasn’t on my radar until my TA suggested it as an option. I don’t need anything special for a “night” life. I was honestly thinking about Holland so now I’m sort of confused and want to learn more.

I’m going to be a solo traveler and am considering Norwegian for their solo studios. I’m looking forward to following along with you!

Unfortunately not a relaxing time at all. The only place to read a book is your room/balcony
My goal for a 2025 cruise is to spend lots of time by the pool with a book and a drink. And I can’t take stairs quickly without issue. I hope that was not the usual experience!

We like to make our choices before we leave home -- it's easy to look for reviews and be sure you're making a good choice
How do you find tours/companies that will offer tours outside of the cruise so that you can look for them ahead of time?

I lurk all the lives and don’t post anything because I am so inexperienced. I never actually went on a cruise! I live vicariously through the good and bad that people experience!

I would suggest you do look for something at least 7-days and preferably longer, and not during Spring Break times. The shorter later spring cruises sometimes attract a party-crowd, commonly called Booze Cruises.
That is something else I have been wondering about. I read the post about the big group that took over parts of the ship and it seems like going longer is better for that too.
Sometimes the idea of a month-long cruise sounds amazing! But of I do worry about being overwhelmed and then stuck on the ship. Mostly it isn’t in my price range though. 😂 Maybe 10-12 nights would be doable.

I want to take a cruise to the Caribbean! I was thinking of HAL but that is mostly because my parents recently told me about their Japan cruise. I am not a “night life” kind of person and I don’t mind kids but would rather not be surrounded by them. Maybe a TA will also come up with some ideas!

encourage you to search for and read these discussions. There are many. As someone new to cruising, you may want to find a TA that specializes in cruising that could help you. You may get a deal through them too.
Yes, as Mom says, figuring out the solo costs became very complicated very quickly. I just reached out to the TA that my parents recommended.
one of the reasons I asked the question…I didn’t want to feel like I’m contacting an agent too early! lol. I am happy to know that isn’t the case.

Hello! I’m Jenni, completely new to cruising, and posting for the first time! I’m planning to go on a solo cruise as a way to celebrate. The last few year I have been battling a bone infection and almost had to amputate my leg! I won’t be hiking anytime soon but I am walking. This is my treat to myself after all I went through.
anyway. I am thinking will likely go cruising sometime in 2025 and I’m just now starting to really look. I’m curious how much planning everyone did ahead of time to go on their cruise? How far in advance did you book or start looking?
