If it’s refundable obc you can, but you’ll pay a 3% fee unless you have Casinos at Sea status. Oftentimes I’ll  pay the 3% money laundering fee just to avoid the line for guest services when I need to zero out my account.

Is there a way to see if it’s refundable or not?

I’m afraid the link isn’t working.  But if these are purchased onboard credits, they are refundable and can be used for gratuities.  Non-refundable credits can’t be.

I believed these are refundable when I called NCL but it's still doesn't apply to gratuity. How did you get it to be applied to the daily services?

    Welcome to Cruise Critic

First, it is never a good idea to post your reservation number on a public forum (it is in the link you posted).

Most Travel Agent OBC is not purchased, they are re-gifting it to you. It is normally non-refundable and can not be used for gratuities.

OBC is posted to your onboard account and charges are automatically deducted from it.

Best to ask your TA if it is a refundable or non-refundable OBC.

ahh i didn't realized I did it. Trying to edit my original comments. But in my account I see that these are included https://www.ncl.com/onboard-gifts/onboard-credit

  4. Can someone confirm if we can use these NCL onboard credit, https://www.ncl.com/shorex/271784528/56587201/gifts-detail/603 for gratuity? These were purchased by my TA and I was told that I can have these applied to our gratuity by telling the front desk to hit the daily gratuity to my onboard account. However, when I called NCL, they told me that these credits can't be used for casino, gratuity or excursion? Have anyone recently used these for casino and/or gratuity?

You had to call and ask, right? It wasn't an automatic upgrade.

I'm confused about this - NCL has refundable deposits right up to final payment, unlike another line that charges you extra if you want that option, I'm not sure what this is about waiving the cancellation fee?

I agree with @debenson0723 typically if you're getting a cabin upgrade because of a price drop AFTER FINAL PAYMENT the new cabin has to be at least $1 more than you paid for your original cabin.  At least that's been the policy...

Yes my TA called for me. The new cabin price was $700 less than what I paid for so they upgraded me.

So you get a 'free' upgrade from an inside to a balcony after final payment (which I have never seen in many NCL cruises) and you are still complaining about nickel and diming?  Before you took the upgrade you could have asked the representative about the additional FAS dinner...if he/she had told you it wasn't included, would you have declined the cabin upgrade??

I would’ve paid the $50 for the next cabin up and get both. Btw the free upgrade is very common and my TA say they do it all the time. It’s not automatic but you have to call. This is also documented somewhere in NCL.

But you say it was AFTER final pay due date. So you could not have cancelled and rebooked without penalty!

There was a category that was like $50 more which allowed you to pick a deck and cabin which the cancellation fee is waived. However, i didn’t know that the automatic upgrade would’ve not update the FAS. It’s still the same  free at sea promotion so just weird that they would nickel and dime here.

  8. I originally booked a NCL getaway cruise in an interior room with the free at sea promo. After making the full payment the price went down and I was able to get a free upgrade to the balcony room since the balcony room is now cheaper than what I had originally pay for. However, I noticed that my reservation did not update the dining from 1 meal to 2 meals which other balcony bookings usually get. Is this expected? How do I get NCL to include the second meal now that I’m in the balcony category?
