  1. Had a great morning zip lining on Douglas Island! Gosh, the weather couldn't be nicer. Sunny and warm! I'm having lunch at the Red Dog and everyone is in short sleeves!!! After zip lining, I took the tram up to Mt. Roberts. Hiked the Alpine Loop Trail and then back down. Probably going to do some window shopping after my beer and salmon sandwich. We enjoy reading your posts and getting very excited about our upcoming cruise.

We are taking the Maasdam on 29 August and will be in Anchorage on 5 Sept, Labour Day. We are thinking of hiring a car to go to Portage glacier and the Alaskan wild life centre (so we can stay longer as I believe the visit is too short) As there is no rental pickup at the port we will have to take the HAL shuttle downtown and then a taxi to the rental pickup.

If it is not too much trouble could you ask the Cruise Director if we could get a taxi directly back to the port or would we need to take the HAL shuttle on our return.

  2. We Also took the tour from the Norwegian Sun with Jane on 2 March, Dan and Berit are a truly amazing couple whos love for Columbia and its people is inspiring. It was wonderful to interact with the local people, both young and old and to learn more about Columbia. Most people from cruise ships leave ports of call without any knowledge of the country they are visiting. We had time to visit the Old Town and could have spent more time there if we had wished. Dan & Berit even e-mailed photos of our tour with them

We cannot recommend the tour with Friends for Columbia highly enough
