  1. Can you point to where you have read this?

This was a review of the ISLAND Princess from "marthabro":

Since this was a repositioning short term cruise the service was inconsistent. We didn't get our coffee cards delivered until three trips to the Service Desk. We didn't meet our steward until late in the afternoon but we dropped our carry on and went straight to the Dining Room for lunch and then walked around. After muster I still had no luggage but I had a nice note from Security to come see them about my luggage. They did not like my power strip and took it away. Lots of people were down there getting appliances removed. First time in 29 years that has happened to me. Our Steward had just been reassigned to our floor and suites so he was figuring it out. He worked hard to make us happy.

  2. Regardless, I suggested to Mrs. XBGuy that she investigate hot rollers with an automatic "off" feature. Her inititial check with Amazon has turned up nothing. Do such things exist?

I have never seen hot rollers with automatic "off" switch. On our last cruise, on DISNEY Wonder - they did take our hot rollers out of our suitcases and left them at the terminal!! We had to go to lost and found counter after we got off the ship and retrieve them - what a pain that was. I have never had Princess take them on any cruise I have been on - but a recent review of the Island Princess - someone said they are starting to take curling irons .etc. We are going on the Crown next month - so I guess that will be the "test" to see if they get through.

  3. Hi

Has anyone been to the Sloth Sanctuary recently? I thought I had read it had either closed, or been accused of abuse recently. I don't want to go if that is the case. Is the Jaguar center an excursion on Princess or is this something that you have to do on your own?

    Thank you

    Pat

  4. I did this with 3 other people in Mazatlan and it was terrific. I would definitely do it again.

The salsa was really good and the appetizers they served were delicious. The margarita's were strong - and kept flowing - you learned how to make those too.

We used the pool after the class- and it was really nice.

I would do this excursion again. :D

  5. We did this when we were on the Ruby Princess in 2012. It was a fabulous day.

At that time it was $65 per person- that included drinks and lunch. The pool has a swim up bar- which was fun. Food was very good also.

The resort is very nice- and the beach was also great. Soft sand - and clear water. We spent most of the day in the pool though.

They also have a very small Casino inside the resort- did try alittle but no luck.

We took a taxi from the ship to this resort- I don't remember how much it was - sorry. But you can see the ship docked from the resort also - so it's not far.

We are going back to St. Martin in May - and we are considering doing this day pass again. ;)

  6. Can anyone tell me how close this restaurant is to where Princess Cruise ships dock - is it walking distance - or how much a taxi would be?

We are arriving in the evening - 4:00pm - 11:00pm - so would rather not be walking around at night if we dont' know where we are going.

  7. I believe the question was brought up because of a recent review here on CC from somebody who was just on the Independence. :

[Entertainment: Such a choice! We went to the ice show (Freeze Frame) which as always was excellent; the show in Alhambra theatre and the Rock Britannia in the Royal Promenade. Amazing! We did a few quizzes and would have done ice skating, archery etc had we had more time but as the sun was shining (in Oct!) we sunbathed and took advantage of the amazing whirlpools.

As you can see- she mentioned not having enough time for the "archery".....;)

  8. Hi there-

We are currently booked into a S2 owners suite and thinking about upgrading to the S1 Grand suite. There are a couple pros and cons we are considering. One that I am hoping will be a pro is the bed is listed as "Queen Only".

Does anyone know if this means it is an actual queen? or is it still the two twins pushed together and they cannot configure it to a queen?

Any help would be much appreciated!

    Thanks

    David

I've stayed in the Grand Suite (S1) and it is a queen bed. Not 2 twins pushed together. It's actually a very LARGE queen bed.
