Did you book as b2b and received two cruise credits, or as a Grand Journey with only one cruise credit(assuming total days under 25) with regard to the loyalty program? I am not sure, but I’m thinking that could have an impact on when/how many reservations can be made when it opens

When I look at my dining, I see this: Your 50-Day Voyage in a  offers you 7 reservations per restaurant in Jacques, Polo Grill, Red Ginger and Toscana.

So II think I can make them all when it opens.

AFAIK you can only make the reservations based on the dates of each cruise, not the whole trip. We only had two cruises and the dates for making our res was about ten days apart.

The Grand Voyage is considered 1 cruise of 50 days. It is called South America Kaleidoscope. But you can take it in pieces, you don't have to do the whople thing

That's what we had. The res was linked to the start date of the cruise(s).

Thanks, I know when I checked my account I was shocked at how many restaurant reservations it listed, can't make them yet, but I have a lot. So rhat makes me think I can make them all at once when the window opens.

I guess you're doing a number of cruises back to back. I've only done one of those, and I forget how  reservations were handled. But I'm sure someone else will know.  In any case, I just thought I'd mention that you may only be able to make reservations for one cruise at a time.  In my opinion, it's fairer that way, but of course some people may disagree.

I'm doing a Grand Cruise Miami to Rio, it is 3 cruises basically bur O marketed it as a Grand cruise, So I'm not sure if the segments open up differently. My guess is that they will all open up at the same time.

I've met 3 of the 4 captains we've had on our cruises in the upper smoking lounge. The last one, an Italian, had apparently quit smoking recently. So I did see him pop in once very briefly but he left and I didn't speak with him. So many of the various managers and supervisors also smokers. Often able to give personal thanks to my cabin steward & attendant directly to the Hotel Manager.

And yes, have met a lot of interesting smokers by the pool, in their area, too. But they often seem to be the younger crowd or the older cigar smokers.

I am definitely NOT the younger crowd. Now I try to stay away from the smoking area. I quit for health reasons, and don't want to be tempted to go back

I don't think anyone brings 50 pair---😆which is why we send out the laundry daily.

Doesn't have to be sent out daily, but it is a reason to use the self service laundry

The last thing I want to do is laundry when on a get away from........just an opinion nothing more.

Depends on the length of the cruise. I'm doing a 50 day cruise, Miami to Rio, and I don't have 50 pair of underwear. Or enough shirts or Jammies or socks for 50 days.

I went up to Horizons nightly when the Seaside Band was playing. Sadly, usually all but empty. Got to know the lead singer because she smoked and my wife & her would smoke in the lounge next to Horizons during their break. Also gave me a chance to talk nightly with the bartender when the bar was empty. A very nice guy. He'd always call out to me when he'd see me coming and usually have 2 of my "fav" waiting for me. Was a great way to meet some crew/entertainers. After her break I'd listen to 2 or 3 songs. And take my water back down to my cabin.

I used to  smoke, was usually at the pool deck. Met a lot of people that way. I quit about 5 years ago. How will I meet people now? Just kidding.

Have seen a lot of canned soda and sparkling water, too. Both free.

I'd go up to the bar in Horizons to see what kind of water they had. Bottled and canned. Then I'd ask the bartender for whatever I wanted. He'd set aside two bottles/cans of whatever I wanted each night.

Or ask your room steward. Youn can request your room fridge be stocked with your preference of water/soda all free of charge
