What exactly has been improved?
I've noticed you can now edit the time of a dinner reservation which you couldn't do before so that is an actual "improvement"

We just booked our first land tour for 2024 Italy and followed by cruise on Sun Princess to Greece. Any place I can find what star level of hotels Princess books? I have not been able to find very much info but am putting my trust in the descriptions which is about all I have for now.
Doing the Classic Italy Cruise tour in October. We have the following hotels listed in the travel summary, not sure at what point they add them in. You may want to check if yours lists the hotels. Our tour includes breakfast every day and one lunch and one dinner. Again this was all in the Travel Summary
- STARHOTEL SPLENDID VENICE
- HOTEL ALBANI FIRENZE
- HOTEL NH COLLECTION ROMA CENTRO

It sounds like a lot of extra work for all involved.
No extra work at all because you are being tracked via your medallion the entire cruise and the data is already there. They not only know if you went to the MDR twice, they know everywhere you went the entire cruise and for how long.

Exactly why I always suggest to people to have a Princess CVP or trusted travel agent acting on your behalf.
Unless you are [un] lucky enough to get a useless CVP who never returns your calls and leaves the organization after 3-4 months. I've had 3 in a row like that.

You can see what you get included for your cruise from here https://book.princess.com/cruisepersonalizer/printTravelSummary.page Scroll towards the bottom for the list -

I'm confused. Can someone boil this down for me like I'm a 5 year old?
Princess wants to get rid of the non-revenue generating customers. Buy Princess Plus or Premier or otherwise be prepared to be nickle and dimed on your cruise.

The same is true of the signature cocktails, they are not able to make some of the drinks on the menu.
Had the same issue at Good Spirits on the Royal recently. They could make maybe half a dozen of the drinks on the menu. Not sure why they are unable to adequately stock their liquor.

Someone posted one recently in this thread

I checked mine on the website and the price is the same:(
Yeah, I had my CVP price out a 15 day Panama canal cruise using promo code RJW and it was the same as listed prices on the web, no savings.

I called the Carnival 1-800 number and the agent told me that Canadians ARE covered and gave me this number 1-800-331-2796 - the claims assist. I called that number and the agent assured me that ALL Canadians except for the province of Quebec were covered.
So this sounds like a typical cruise line customer service experience, call 3 times, get 3 different agents and 4 different responses.
I tried to do Due Diligence online. When you find the website with the details of your policy, to customize your agreement and the legal fine print you must pick a state. No provinces listed which is why I called to confirm what the website told me, no Canadian coverage. So not going to take a chance on what someone on the phone who may have worked for Carnival for 10 years or perhaps 10 days said. It's not in writing so I'm not taking the chance
Sorry, not trying to cause a problem here. Just stating what I was told -

There are 0 reasons for this to happen then if 100% of Canada is not covered. Well other than charging and hoping the Canadian buyer doesn't try to use the policy.
it shouldn't be offered to people with Canada addresses
Totally agree and even said that to the rep as to why it allowed me to select and purchase an insurance package that I'm not eligible for.
I didn't know. I've been cruising for almost 30 years and Carnival will be cruise line number 8 as up until now I've never sailed with them. So I assumed they offered Canadian customers a valid product like Celebrity, HAL and Princess.

Dns65, what 1-800 number did you call ???
Is this refund from carnival ?
Sorry, the Carnival 800 number and whatever option for an existing booking. The Carnival rep said they'd issue the refund to the credit card I booked on
-
So I called the 1-800 number and they confirmed their insurance DOES NOT cover Canada. I was issued a refund to my credit card.

Hmmm, my first Carnival cruise on Jan 21, never been on the line before. I purchased the insurance as I do with all other cruise lines but can't find the "fine print" for the policy. Where did you find the info? If I am not covered I should get refunded prior to sailing

It does. It is under dine my way, explore dining options. Not sure if there is another step. Because I’m not on a ship I can’t check,
That is where you find it but we noticed that you couldn't actually view the menu until you booked a dinner reservation. This was on the Diamond during Thanksgiving week.

The ship had refurb work and cabin freshenings several months before the shutdown, but mechanical and surface finishes contractors are reportedly still on the ship for this,
We were on the Thanksgiving sailing and our room had plenty of dings and dents and other blemishes including dirty spots. No cabin refreshing happened for us in Baja 7xx
-
Nothing was done during Covid shutdown based on the physical condition of the ship. I was on the Nov 20th sailing, some aspects of the ship [Plumbing, A/C] had issues but they were being addressed and I am assuming, will be resolved before your sailing.
Our boarding times were not available to select in the app until about 2 weeks before departure.

Anyone been able to do something about this? We will be losing $ 650 each and would rather not. BTW we should have known this but do not see where Princess ever said there was an expiry date attached.
No, they have been quite resolute about the Dec 31st deadline. We ended up booking on a week we would have rather not traveled on [Thanksgiving] to get the itinerary we were interested in prior to expiration.

We're booked on the Diamond 12/17/22. After reading Nobbi's report I'll lower my expectations. Thanks for posting.
As that song goes "How low can you go?"
I was willing to accept all of the issues outlined in this thread given the fact that this is the first sailing of the ship in several years
But when I walked out on my balcony at 7:00 a.m. this morning to find three to four centimeters of water on it I hit my limit
9 hours later my balcony is still full of water

Are you signed in to the website? Try when not signed in and see if you still have the problem. If not, it relates to your profile for the website. I have something similar, they expand out BLVD to BOULEVARD and NW to Northwest in my address and when they do that it exceeds their limit on that address field, and I can't override their autocorrect on my address. Switching my address on my profile to my brothers house with a shorter address got rid of this error. Tried reporting this but as others have found out, you can't actually get in touch with anyone in the Princess IT department, so this obvious bug is not being addressed
-
I have found out what was causing my error. They insist in expanding out where i put "Blvd NW" into full text of Boulevard Northwest which seems to be too long of an address field. I put in my brothers shorter address and the error goes away. Perhaps your error was being caused by your address?

Yes. It took me 3 days to reach my Princess Vacation Planner.
Was she able to change the date of your expiring FCC?
-
Sorry, haven't read back the couple pages of postings on this topic since I was last here..... Someone may have mentioned this
I used a FCC expiring Dec 2022 on this trip. I've been trying to use that credit for a while but Princess keeps cancelling my cruises, 4 of them so far. I was quite unhappy when I saw my FCC was returned with the same expiry date. I will be unable to use this up prior to year end as I have other travel plans.
Did this happen to anyone else? I had read on here others who booked Diamond to use up FCC expiring Dec 2022 so others were in the same boat.
Noise levels in venues

We're pretty much done sailing with Royal class. We loved the older ships, new ships came out with numerous not so good things like smaller balconies and rooms and that awful noisy piazza. Last trip on Enchanted, Sabatini's was a horrible experience with all that intrusive noise while you are trying to enjoy a nice dinner. We're sticking to the older ships
