I wish Carnival had an option on their site to pick a specific destination instead of a generic Caribbean, Europe, Alaska option, instead of having to drill down into every cruise to see the itinerary.

If on the Carnival page you click “Explore” then “Destinations” then the region your port is in, then the port you are interested in, on that page at the very top is a button that says “View Sailings.”  This will show you sailing that include that port of call.

  2. Thanks for the replies everyone! @grantbob was right...I just needed to be patient!

@elklemi  This will be our first time ever taking a ship sponsored cruise as I've always been lured by the appeal of smaller groups and cheaper prices of doing things independently.  I've read so many horror stories about transportation (vans/boats, etc) breaking down in Belize that I'm nervous about missing the ship if anything were to happen on the long journey to Caye Caulker.  I thought that I had read some negative reviews here on the boards about Coral Breeze recently, but now I can't find them, so might be confusing them with another tour provider.  It is definitely tempting to go directly with a local provider directly to save the money.

anyone else had recent experience with Coral Breeze who might be able to sway me away from the ship's tour?

  3. We are stopping at Belize on our spring break cruise (they just updated the itinerary from GC/Ocho Rios to Belize/Roatan), and so far they only have two excursions listed for Belize.  We were hoping to do Shark Ray Alley, but it's not currently one of the tours that is offered.  I'm wondering if more excursions will be offered, or if maybe that excursion just isn't going right now due to lower numbers on ships?  I thought with it being spring break, they'd have enough demand to run all the excursions, but also don't know what vendors have survived the covid shutdowns.

If you recently stopped in Belize, was Shark/Ray Alley offered as an excursion?

Yes, very consistently available.  We recently landed at IAH just before 3 am (due to delays) and I was very concerned about getting an Uber/Lyft, but no problem at all (quick and inexpensive).

@csm5986142whenbyiy arrived at 3am-ish, was your Uber taking you to a hotel near the airport, or to Galveston?  We are arriving to IAH around 11pm and would like to go to Galveston that evening, but not sure if Uber/Lyft will be willing to travel out there late at night knowing that a return passenger is unlikely at that hour.

  5. Does anyone have experience with getting a ride share late at night (11 or midnight)?  We fly into IAH and would like to stay the night in Galveston so that we can adventure around Galveston in the morning, but not sure if anyone would be willing to drive out there late at night on the assumption that there would likely not be a return fare for the driver.  Don't want to find ourselves without a ride late at night!

  6. Hi!  Last time we cruised was pre-pandemic and our first time as platinum guests.  We checked in online as one normally would, but the actual check in time we were assigned didn’t matter because platinum could board first as “priority guests.”

I read somewhere here that platinum guests now get to check in two days earlier than gold/red/blue guests, which has me wondering if check in time is now relevant for everyone?  If not, what’s the benefit of the earlier check in?
