We are also going on our first Alaska cruse starting Sept 11th.  Do you often see whales and/or other wildlife from the cruise ship between ports or while docked?  We are so excited 

I am more excited to be aboard this ship come Sept 11th after reading all the post and seeing the great pictures. We are also booked at the Mediterranean Inn the night before. Our first cruise to Alaska and with Holland.  Beyond ready to be cruising again 😁

We will be on board Sept 10th so I'm excited to get a preview by reading your updates.  Can't wait for pictures.  This will be our first cruise on Holland and first to Alaska!

Looking for suggestions on transportation from Ft Lauderdale airport to Miami hotel. We are coming in a couple days early before our cruise aboard the Splendor March 1st out of the Miami port, but flying into Ft Lauderdale (prices much better than to Miami) out of Wichita. What is the best in pricing and time, and is it better to take shuttle/taxi or rent a car? Thanks!!

I agree with the fact i love to cruise and can always fend off hunger onboard LOL, but also the overall quality and variety mostly on the buffets isn't as good as it was when we began cruising. And for health reasons food temp for hot should be hot and cold should be cold. But it is a buffet, so it is what it is. There's always ice cream :) ;) :)

Will need to at least do a meet on board for sure! We have been on the Conquest and Valor which I believe is also the same class so looking forward to adding the Liberty to the list. Just bought a shirt with all the ships listed, I think I should work on visiting all of them at least once...or twice :)

Thanks for the reply, I was really leaning towards having a rental car since we are planning on flying into Orlando 2 days before the cruise and would be nice to have our own ride to explore. The space center would be awesome to see!

While on the Halloween Carnival Magic cruise we booked a cruise on the Liberty for the March 1st sailing. Since we live in KS we usually drive to Galveston, this will be our first trip out of Port Canaveral. Need tips on getting to and from airport, hotels and if we rent a car is that easy to return day of cruise and get to port? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated! Would like to be close to port and beach, but don't want to blow the bank before the cruise starts :) This will be our 7th cruise with Carnival, first on the Liberty.

We are going out on the Magic end of Feb and shark alley is one of the excursions we are looking at doing and I am one of those people who loves the water type of tours but haven't invested in prescription goggles as of yet (and can only see about 6" away without glasses) I was wondering if this would still be something I could enjoy. About how deep is it where the actual encounter is? I appreciate any advice :)
