They were scolded once on a previous cruise by an elderly couple as they used the key and walked into the club silently to join us "don't be loud in here, this is an adult place"  It's been years and it kinda still haunts them.  There really are some well behaved kids out there folks.   Give them a chance.

My kids were also yelled at by an older couple years ago for laying in sun chairs by the main pool. The couple claimed that the chairs were for adults only.   We still laugh about this now. I totally get it. 🙂

  2. ok, so I am booked on the Serenade of the Seas next month. I am currently in the process of trying to take our high school exchange student with us. Our exchange student is from Spain.

I have a notarized letter from his parents stating I can take him out of the country and make emergency decisions, have his visa updated so he can leave and re enter the USA, and have checked ports to make sure no visas are needed for him.

Is there anything I am missing? I have never cruise with a minor that isn't mine before and want to make sure I have all my ducks in a row.

    Thank you in advance.

  3. I can tell you from experience. If you have a documented illness and the doctor gives you a note both parties do not have to purchase the Cheers package. You do have to wait to purchase till you board and have to purchase your package with the guest service manager (which is a pain) They also did verify the letter during the cruise. Obviously, it is at there discretion but, I just used a note on my last Dream cruise in 2017. It can be done for those who truly aren't trying to play the system.

  4. Hello- Ok question for all you experts out there. This engine problem do you think that they will be crippling along until dry dock as an early poster mentioned? This was talked about on another page and some seemed to think they may cancel some up coming cruises to fix issue. Just curious what your thoughts are. We are schedule to sail on the 9/3/17 sailing and it makes me nervous they will cancel last minute. Not trying to panic people just honestly have no idea about ship engine issues. lol

  5. Hello, my family will be cruising on the Dream next month & the FTTF has been sold out since we booked. We have never sailed out of NOLA so I have been concerned about the line process due to I am traveling with my parents. Is the entire line process for NOLA outside in the heat? Is there any place for older people to get air conditioning or at least sit down?

    Thanks.

  6. I would chose the Escape if you are choosing for the ship and activities. My family has been on both and I can tell you my kids hands down tell you NCL Escape and Getaway are their favorite ships. However, if you are choosing for ports I would chose RCCL. We have been on both and either way you can't go wrong you are on vacation on a cruise ship. Have fun!

  7. Hello, I am just wondering if someone on board happens to read this thread if they could comment on the damage the ship has. I am curious if once the US inspects the ship if they will then cancel future sailings. :(

I really appreicate folks taking time out of there vacation to update all of us. I truely hope this hasn't impacted your vacation too much and you all continue to have a wonderful cruise.

    Thanks!

  8. Like so many others have said.....Thank you so much for this review!!! Your attention to detail was great. I just booked on the April 21,2013 Allure cruise.
