  1. Hello! I recently received a promotional email from Carnival in which it highlights travel to Europe. It lists stops in Barcelona, Livorno, Messina, Malta, Marseille, Dubrovnik, Rome, Malaga, Lisbon, Cagliari, Gilbraltar, Corfu, Naples and Vigo. It then says "maybe next time" and that no current sailings are scheduled for these ports, but that could change, check back in the future for details.

I'm curious whether there is any information out there about future plans for Carnival sailings in Europe? We sailed on the Vista in Europe in 2016, had a wonderful trip and would enjoy another opportunity to visit Europe on Carnival. Thanks!

  2. Hello,

My wife and I are relative new cruisers on NCL. We've cruised on three NCL cruises thus far, the Jewel (Caribbean), Epic (Mediterranean) and Pride of America (Hawaii). We enjoyed our last NCL cruise so much that we purchased several cruise next certificates. We would like to book an 11 night Southern Caribbean cruise on the Sun out of Miami in November.

Our issue involves the quality/reliability of the ship-wide wifi service on the Sun. Over the past two years, we've had very good experiences utilizing the updated ship-wide wifi service on multiple Carnival and Royal Caribbean ships. However, given the port intensive nature of our last two NCL cruises (Epic and POA) we do not have any experience with NCL's version of wifi service.

My wife's job requires periodic online access with her laptop. On this particular trip, she would like to be able to go online for a couple of hours daily during our sea-days. On the Sun cruise, that would be a total of 5 days. I've seen recent comments about Alaska, but does anyone know whether the Sun has good, reliable wifi service while sailing in the Caribbean? Also, does NCL offer discounted package rates for their ship-wide wifi service that lasts the length of the cruise as do both Carnival and RCCL?

If the consensus is negative, we will probably shift our focus to another cruise line this Fall and try NCL at a later date. I very much appreciate your assistance.

    Thanks

  3. We used Lawrence of Antigua earlier today. Our small group of 6 adults was taken in a van to visit multiple popular sites on the island. Our driver, Akeem was excellent and furnished us with useful information and interesting local insights throughout our tour.

Unfortunately, I'm not able to recommend Lawrence of Antigua. At a brief 30 minute beach stop (volunteered by our driver) at the end of our tour, Lawrence stuck his head into our van and informed us that each person would be now charged and additional $10 for this stop. We explained that our driver had offered to make a brief stop and that no one mentioned there would be an additional fee to do so. Everyone in our group refused to pay the additional amount and Lawrence ultimately backed down. It left a bad taste in what otherwise had been an excellent tour experience.

  4. We love Hawaii and have enjoyed multiple land trips to the islands over the years. We completely agree that one cannot give each island justice through a brief one day port visit. There is simply far too much to see/do and each island has its own unique personality.

At the same time we enjoy cruising and have always wanted to experience the beauty of Hawaii from an ocean perspective, so this fall we are sailing on the Carnival Legend re-positioning cruise from Vancouver to Hawaii. It is a ten night cruise that will give us an opportunity to experience the islands in a new way. After the cruise concludes in Honolulu, we will spend two additional weeks in Hawaii visiting our favorite locations on different islands before flying home.

    Best of both worlds...:o)

  5. We are currently sailing on the Liberty re-positioning cruise. We've had a great time thus far. Until I read this post, I had no idea there was a major noro problem on the ship. This cruise seems pretty normal in all respects. No one in our party of 4, nor anyone we have met during this cruise, has been affected. The only thing I've noticed was a couple of reminders over the intercom for everyone to maintain good hand sanitation and they've had crew members near the buffet to assist passengers with the hand cleaning stations.

  6. We sailed a 12 night re-positioning cruise on the Freedom last February. While at sea, (thanks to Carnival's new wifi plan) we learned we had some additional free time available after we docked in Galveston. I was able to comparison shop cruise prices online. We decided to book the next 7 night cruise while on-board the ship, at the future cruises desk, and we received OBC. It worked out very well for us.

  7. Hello,

I understand on 7 night sailings out of San Juan, the Liberty does not offer a Future Carnival Vacations Desk. Does anyone know if there will be one open on the Liberty during the 12 night re-positioning cruise on March 6 from San Juan to Galveston?

I will be on that cruise and, if possible, I would like to book the upcoming 10 night Carnival Legend cruise (Vancouver to Honolulu) while I'm on-board.

    Thanks!

  8. Hi! We are currently sailing on the Carnival Freedom (repositioning cruise, day 9/12). We have been using the new ship-wide internet/wifi service throughout the cruise with both our laptop/IPad. It works very well for us throughout the ship and has enabled us to remain in touch with developments back home.

I'm curious if anyone knows whether the Carnival Conquest will have the new internet/wifi service installed by April '15? I've heard the new wifi package is currently available on the Freedom, Breeze and Sunshine. I may book some relatives on an early April sailing of Conquest and would like to know if it also will be so equipped.

    Thanks!:)
