Hi Steve - No - not all policies have the benefit of "extension of coverage" - many I was looking at did not.  I agree 7 days is not that long, but some would only extend for 5 days while others would extend longer but their travel delay max benefit was a smaller amount.  For us, 7 days seemed like enough to cover most of our days needed for covid quarantine.  It wouldn't cover all of them but at least I would have $4000 worth covered for my $80 invested.  There are probably much better policies out there but for our price point, this was a good deal.

I'm sure we would need a Dr note to extend the coverage.  7 days is stated by the policy info below.  The policy would originally be in effect until 8/14.  It can be extended until 8/21.

@coarsegold_Mom which insurance company offers this?

Didn't know about the delivery since I saw no need to purchase the alcohol at increased prices. Not much of a deal anymore. Definitely not worth lugging all the extra weight off the ship!

Unfortunately, the stores in the port aren't dumb, they raised their prices to match Carnivals!

How does this work?  If I see a bottle of liquor that is served on the ship in port and take a pic of the price what do I do with it?  Does this work for pre-ordering bottles from the Fun Shop to have the liquor in the cabin upon arrival?

My hack isn't food related.  But I take clothes pins and clip them to the bottom of the shower curtain, keeps the shower curtain in place.  My husband thought it was that way, he didn't know I did that myself.  Haha!

I do the same thing. It works great to not have the curtain sticking to you

  4. For US we didn't think $59.95 was worth it so we've never purchased Faster to the Fun. And we definitely wouldn't now that it's $79.95 for a week-long cruise. But I don't understand the hate for those who DO want to buy it. Why should anyone care what anyone else spends THEIR money on? We don't pay for spa services, or salon services, or Cheers, or the pay restaurants but couldn't care less that others DO want to spend THEIR money on those things.

    Well said!

  5. Even at these prices, they will still sell out. There will still be dozens of threads about how to spend every waking moment checking for them to release more, bragging about how they snagged one after hours of waiting and watching. They could charge twice this amount and still sell out.

Why so bitter? How does people buying faster to the fun affect you?

  6. If, instead of buying FTTF for 10 cruises, you can be at Platinum level at least one cruise quicker and get the full benefit of that level status.

Anybody's choice. If I wasn't at Diamond level, I would prefer getting Global Entry for $100 over 5 years to a one time $80 FTTF. Again any one's choice and our mileage does vary.

    What is Global Entry?

I purchased FTTF for my trip last week on Splendor and thought it was great and well worth it to not wait in ridiculously long lines at embarkation and for Half Moon Cay. The waits for the tender at Half Moon Cay were over an hour and a half. We were some of the first people to be on board. I loved having our room ready when we got on the ship and our luggage had already been delivered so we could start unpacking. I did have to call guest services a couple of time due to loud music coming from the night club because the bass was literally shaking our room until 2 or 3 am every night and they were very responsive to the dedicated phone line for FTTF people. We didn't take advantage of the early debarkation because we had a later flight but I can also see the advantage of this if we had an earlier flight.

  7. For us it's worth it. We get in the short line to check in, get to board early, we love dropping off our luggage as soon as we board...hate lugging it around until our room is available. One time we needed to go to customer service and our line was much shorter. When you look at how much you're spending for the cruise, it's really not that much extra for the convenience. Unfortunately, we booked our cruise late and so far, although I check daily, it keeps saying sold out. [emoji17] I will not give up, someone could cancel.

I was like you, I kept checking back for Splendor and 44 days out it became available again. Keep trying.:D

  8. If you are interested in purchasing and find that it is sold out (it does sell out quickly) keep checking back. I have checked often over the past two months and just today - 44 days before my cruise did it become available. I booked it and am now looking forward to getting to the fun even faster :)

  9. So far so good. Continuing....

About a month after booking, hubby received a Premier Casino invitewhich happened to have our sailing listed so after speaking with out TA(mother-in-law) we were able to switch to that rate which saved us a littleover $240 for our cabin and gave him $400 cash from the casino which was AWESOME! We've never been able to takeadvantage of the Premier Casino invites so hubby was too excited. More on thatlater.

Day 1 – Sail Away Day!

We went to our cabins which were ready and dropped off thefew bags we carried on and went up to Lido for lunch. Splendor doesn’t have theGuys burger or Blue Iguana but I didn’t care for the Guysburger when I had iton Glory anyway so no biggie for me. So,the kids got hamburgers or hotdogs and fries. I always get a veggie burger andloaded fries lol I’m such a kid! The veggie burger was pretty good too! I don’trecall them offering that on any of my previous cruises so maybe it’s a newitem. Either way, it was good. I also ordered the welcome aboard drink, yummy!

This was probably thelongest muster drill EVER! And HOT! They did have these ipad devices andchecked in each cabin and anyone who was not present was supposed to meet someplace else for their own muster drill lol They gave the kids their wristbandsand then after the drill, we were off to Lido for the sail away party.

Hi, thank you for the review. I am sailing on Splendor next month and am so excited. I have a few questions for you if you don't mind answering.

    1. What is the Premier Casino invite? How does one get this and what does it involve?

    2. Did you get the hamburgers at the burger place? If so what time do the restaurants open during embarkation. I really don't want to eat at the buffet for lunch after we board so am hoping other restaurants are open.

3.You mention wristbands for kids. What is that for?

Thanks in advance. I look forward to reading the rest of your review.

  10. One sticking point for many cruisers, if I can add, for people who purchase the Cheers package for their cruise....Cheers IS NOT honored on HMC....you can use your S&S card to purchase drinks, but it is paid on a per drink basis

Carnival should really include the drinks on HMC in the Cheers package since it's their island and they are bringing over everything on the boat just like you were on the boat.

  11. I have done 3-4 day cruises and cheers was an amazing deal. We are going on a 7 day in May and I can't justify it due to the 3 port days we won't be on the ship at all. I wish they had the option of buying it for certain days only [emoji20]

I agree - wish you could purchase it by the day. I am concerned I will be spending the money for the Cheers program and then spend a lot of money at the 4 ports we are visiting our 6 day cruise. Not to mention that the 1st and last day I won't be able to drink 15 drinks.

  12. In January 2016 I friend and I were on the Splendor in the casino very late, about 4 AM, playing slots and a guy walked by totally naked. We went to guest services to report it and the rep thought we were drunk, until he came walking up asking where his cabin was. Security showed up to escort him to his cabin and the funniest part was they headed upstairs in the atrium GLASS elevators

    I definitely LOL'd at this! :D:')
