1. Looking forward to it .. this will be my 2nd cruise NOT sailing out of Florida. We sailed out of Galveston once and was disappointed that there wasnt Caribbean style sail away music or none through out the week. We heard Jungle Boogie SOOO much that week. Now everytime we hear that song my kids remember their first cruise.

Yea, I didnt like the idea of having to sit with others in the MDR for breakfast. We like to order RS to eat on our balcony or I will run and grab us breakfast from the buffet to have on our balcony. However, since we dont have a balcony on this upcoming cruise I guess we will hit the buffet.

I am really excited because I bought this cruise as a gift to my niece who lives in TX for her 18th birthday/Graduation ... I am her ONLY Aunt so I wanted to do something special for her. I want her to fall in love with cruising, too.

If you dont mind, please try to keep some Capers so I can get a general idea of what to expect regarding activities ....

  2. My husband and I sailed on the Dawn November 2008, although we did not experience anything, I did get a bad feeling in the restroom just outside the theater. We were in Dazzles for Karoake and I went to the ladies room and just got a feeling that I never felt before so I hurried up and got the heck out of there.

  3. We are enjoying your cruise with you! Thanks for all the comments and pictures.

A question..............how do you get to Island Village? Are there signs directing you there from the pier?

    Thanks again!

You cant miss Island Village .... once you walk off the Pier its on your right @ the corner. We walked around there on our last trip to Ocho Rios and plan to do the same on our upcoming cruise in November.

  4. Thank you SOO MUCH, Radio!!

I'm sitting at work (update NY) and needed a mini virtual Ocho Rios break right now! :D

I was there at Island Village & Margaritaville 3yrs ago...and it was a very short visit! We also ran into the Hard Rock across the street from there and got the mandatory shot glass.

    Perfect timing!:D

Thanks again for all your 'hard work'.... Someone really should be paying you for taking these great cruises and providing us all with this great informational LIVE updates!

Hi Pam .... I hope all is well!!!

  5.
We Just got off the Mariner Family Oceanview 8500 July 19, 2009, I know it is a different ship but the room is also forward like the one you booked...(I wanted to answer your questions since I asked the same question about my cabin with no response)..my family loved the room but we felt every movement, I was sea sick the frist day even though I took meds...after the first day we all got use to the movement of the ship. The view from our cabin was great. I would book this room again even though I felt the movement more...we have never had aft but usually book mid ship...I hope this helps..have a great time on your cruise...
Yes, it does, thank you. I have never gotten sea sick before so I am hoping I dont, well just once on our last cruise but that was my fault .. I had had a little bit too much to drink the night before. However, I dont drink when the kids cruise with us. I heard that ginger does the trick for sea sickness, maybe I will bring some along just in case. Did you take pictures of the cabin? I would love to view.
How was your itinerary? We were thinking about doing the Mariner Mexican Riviera in November but I read it wasnt a good time of the yr for that itinerary, so that is why we chose the Freedom instead. Perhaps the spring .... we love the Mariner.
  6. Hi Everyone ....

This will be my families first time on the FOS, first time Forward. We usually book balcony for Hubby and I and an inside for the kids, that is when the kids go. Our last cruise we had an AFT balcony which hooked me on AFTS. However, we just booked this week so all the AFTS were taken and no inside and balconies near eachother. Therefore we booked the Family Oceanview 6500 ... now my question is will I like Forward? We are used to midship or AFT. I understand that we will have great views but I am kind of leery of being forward.

    Thank you in advance!!

  7. Never thought about connecting cabins but we did already book the Family Oceanview Stateroom. It's a 2 bedroom with a sitting area .. although, the 2nd bedroom looks like a closet. We went through all scenarios with the RCCL Agent and this was more affordable. This cruise started out as mine and my husbands yearly get away cruise .. then he mentioned it to his sister and she and her husband decided to join us .... then it snow balled into his other sister and her husband and his brother and wife. NOW they decided to bring all their kids, we couldnt tell them NO, DONT COME ...so we now have to bring our children. I was kind of disappointed since I am no longer on the ship that I wanted, not alone with my husband, not in my usual balcony but oh well ... we live in VA and all our family that is coming are in TX ... Oh Well, I will make the best of it!

  8. Thank you so much for sharing the pictures. Is that a mini closet in the "2nd bedroom"? I couldnt figure it out from the RCCL website. It was more affordable to book this cabin rather than a Balcony and an Inside cabin. We usually book the balcony for us and an inside for the kids. Believe it or not we are forcing the 16 & 17 yr old sons to cruise, isnt that sad!

I hope you all enjoyed your cruise and have a good day!!
