  1. Hi Again,

I have been doing research on getting the visas myself as I normally do. It looks like this time I will be better off using the service on Princess. I live approximately 40 miles outside of Houston and there are a large number of Embassies there. There is no Embassy for Cambodia and all of the companies that acquire a visa for you are charging more than Princess.

The Embassy for Vietnam is open between 9:00am and 12:00pm which is problematic. When I was younger the traffic was difficult but the older I have gotten the less I actually do the drive. I would have to be in rush hour traffic. So I will be going to Walmart to get my pictures and letting Princess do the work.

  2. The Visa fee charged for US Passport Holders is US$30.00 plus the $3.00 port fee which is already included in the port fees charged to the original booking. This is what it was 35 days ago on my account. I reached out to Princess and they confirmed no changes have been made for these fees. The information about a higher fee is wrong.

Below is what is listed for my December 2019 booking on the Princess website. I am doing research to see if I want to acquire visa's on my own.

All guests require a visa for Cambodia. You may either obtain the visa on your own before your cruise,

or a visa will be issued upon arrival in Cambodia. If you choose to have the visa issued on board, a

passport-size photo is required and a visa fee of USD $55.00 per person will be charged to your

    stateroom account.

Cambodian customs has strict regulations in regard to passport validity and require that all passports

be valid for at least six months after you depart Cambodia.

    V I E T N A M V I S A / PA S S P O R T R E Q U I R E M E N T

A Vietnam visa is required for most guests on this voyage, including Australian, Canadian, New

Zealand and U.S. passport holders. You may either obtain the visa on your own before your cruise, or

a visa will be issued upon arrival in Vietnam. If you choose to have the visa issued on board, a visa fee

of USD $56.00 per person (USD $76.00 per person for those participating on an overland package)

will be charged to your stateroom account.

Some guests, including UK passport holders, do not require a visa; however, they will be charged $1

per person for a landing card and a $1 per person processing fee.

All guests' passports must be valid for at least six months after departing Vietnam and must contain

at least one unused page for entry/exit endorsements.

  3. Just wanted to thank all posters and let you know that I learned something new about my Credit Cards from reading the post. When we first started cruising insurance was not a priority. After about the third cruise out of twenty two when a job promotion created havoc for a planned cruise I never book without cruise insurance. I always use Travel Guard because of all of the coverage options available Three times we had to use it, luckily prior to going on the cruise. I provided the required documentation and shortly after received the check.

All we were out of was the cost of the insurance, which is not cheap because we tend to go on mid-level cruise lines. I have also found that the older we get the higher the cost of the insurance. Insurance gives me peace of mind while planning for my cruise and while traveling which I consider the a small price to pay for the thousands of dollars spent.

  4. We dock at 8:00 am on June 1, 2016 in Barcelona and spend the night, debarking on June 2, 2016. There will be six adults.

Take a taxi(s) to Sagrada Familia for a 9:00 am guided tour of the inside. Get outside pictures while waiting for our tour. Finish tour no later than 10:15 am.

Take taxi(s) to Park Guell for 10:30 am or 10:45 am entry. Take plenty of pictures for later. Leave no later than 11:30 am for private tour of Montserrat getting there by 1:00 pm to hear the choir and see Montserrat afterward.

All replies will be greatly appreciated.

  5. I would like to know Riviera will be using tenders at any of these ports.

    Venice, Italy

    Zadar, Croatia

    Kotor, Montenegro

    Palermo (Sicily), Italy

    Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy

    Florence/Pisa/Tuscany (Livorno), Italy

    Antibes, France

    Provence (Marseille), France

    Port-Vendres, France

    Barcelona, Spain

Some I found through my search of the Boards, but felt I should give all the Ports. Those in Red I know. The others I am questioning.

  6. I did my search but most of the information concerning Kotor was from 2011.

We will be a family group of thirteen (13) traveling on Oceania's Riviera arriving in Kotor on May 24, 2016 at 9:00am and departing at 7:00pm.

We want to take the bus to Perast and take the boat to the two small islands. We will return to Kotor so some can climb the wall while others tour Kotor.

My question is whether this is still possible and the cost for the bus ride and the cost for the boat to the islands? What is the cost for using a taxi to get to Perast.

Do you still need Kuna in Zadar, Croatia?

Thanks in advance for all answers.

  7. Roothy123- I just tried to get to your web site but it failed. When I looked closely I noticed that there is one too many "o"s in Roothy123 so after adjusting for the right number of "o"s I found your pictures. I'm going to be in Guatemala on the Ryndam in November so I really appreciated your pictures. Thank you for posting them

Moonothebay, thanks for the tip on locating the pictures. I will be doing the Mayan Mystique in December 2012.

Roothy123, excellent pictures that helped to make my choice 'Happy Fish'.

    Thanks All

  8. Sailing Riviera in Sept, can't wait, still some weight to lose!

I have had to totally revise my weight lose plan due to these pictures! And because of these pictures we booked a second Riviera cruise. We have had the March cruise booked for about a year and now have booked one in December. Like alot of you the ship is the destination as we also have previously visited these ports.

Thank you reposado, please keep the pictures and ratings coming.

  9. Hi All,

I have the same question as Cruiser523. We will be on the Regatta that docks in Hamilton in November. Are the taxis readily available and do any of those recommended pick up at the Hamilton Dock? Thanks.

  10. Someone mentioned the $10 first night at the Pinnacle Grill. This promotion has ended. I did love it.

Another secret is that the food at the Lido is just as good as the in the dinning room. They also do table cloths and candles for dinner. It is like an alternate restaurant without a surcharge.

Their new linens, soap and shampoo are wonderful.

I agree that the 'High Tea' is superb.
